ドラム型コアの巻芯部の軸方向両端のそれぞれ上面及び側面に鍔部が設けられ、該コアの前記鍔部が設けられた領域の下面に複数の脚部が設けられ、該複数の脚部の先端にそれぞれ端子電極が形成され、前記巻芯部に複数本の巻線が巻回されるとともに、前記巻回された複数本の巻線の端部がそれぞれ前記端子電極に導電接続されたコモンモードチョークコイルにおいて、
前記ドラム型コアの鍔部の巻線の巻回領域に面する上面側の内側面の一部と、この下面側の脚部の巻線の巻回領域に面する内側面の一部とが、前記内側面の残部に比べて、ともにコアの軸方向端面寄りに後退して設けられ、さらに上面側の前記内側面の一部と前記内側面の残部との間の内側面を斜めとし、当該内側面に沿って前記巻線を斜めに巻回することを特徴とするコモンモードチョークコイル。
