本発明の任意選択の特質に係り、第1の通信ユニットが量子化された信号サンプル群の複数のセットを生成するよう配列されており、各セットが、第1の通信ユニットの複数のアンテナのうち別個のアンテナが受信した第1の信号の時間領域の受信信号サンプル群に対応しており、送信手段が、量子化された受信サンプル群の複数のセットを第2の通信ユニットに送信するよう配列されている。 MIMO受信を行う受信手段は、MIMO受信の量子化された信号サンプル群のあらゆるセットを含むことができる。この特質によって性能を改善でき、具体的には、MIMOシステムに対応する性能を、アンテナの数を増やすことで提供できる。
Claims (9)
- 第1の通信ユニットと第2の通信ユニットとからなる通信システムであって、
第1の通信ユニットは、
信号源の通信ユニットから送信された第1の信号を受信することにより第1の受信信号サンプル群を生成する受信フロントエンドであって、前記第1の受信信号サンプル群は、前記第1の通信ユニットの少なくとも1つのアンテナが受信した信号をダウンコンバートした時間領域信号サンプル群に対応している、前記受信フロントエンドと、
前記第1の受信信号サンプル群のノイズ表示を生成する手段と、
前記ノイズ表示に関連する量子化レベル群を用いて、前記第1の受信信号サンプル群を量子化した結果生じるノイズ寄与が基準を満たすよう、前記第1の受信信号サンプル群の前記量子化レベル群を決定する決定手段と、
前記決定された量子化レベル群を用いて前記第1の受信信号サンプル群を量子化することにより、量子化された信号サンプル群を生成する手段と、
前記量子化された信号サンプル群を第2の通信ユニットに送信する送信手段と、を具備し、
第2の通信ユニットは、
前記量子化された信号サンプル群を前記第1の通信ユニットから受信する手段と、
前記通信源の通信ユニットから送信された前記第1の信号を受信することにより、第2の受信信号サンプル群を生成する手段と、
前記第2の受信信号サンプル群と前記量子化された信号サンプル群とに応じて前記第1の信号の多入力多出力つまりMIMOの受信を行う受信手段と、を具備した、通信システム。 - 前記基準に、ノイズ表示がノイズ寄与を第1のマージンの分だけ超えるという条件が含まれた請求項1に記載の通信システム。
- 前記通信システムが、前記通信源の通信ユニットと前記第2の通信ユニットとの間の通信の処理能力の測定に応じて前記第1のマージンを決定する手段を備えた、請求項2に記載の通信システム。
- 前記装置が、前記第1の通信ユニットと前記第2の通信ユニットとの間の通信リンクの処理能力の測定に応じて前記第1のマージンを決定する手段を備えた、請求項2又は3に記載の通信システム。
- 前記ノイズ寄与に、量子化ノイズの寄与とクリッピングノイズの寄与とが含まれた、請求項1〜4に記載の通信システム。
- 前記第1の受信信号サンプル群が複素ベースバンドサンプル群である、請求項1〜5に記載の通信システム。
- 前記送信手段が更に、量子化されたサンプルごとのビットの数の表示を送信するよう配列されている、請求項1〜6に記載の通信システム。
- 前記送信手段が更に、送信する量子化されたサンプル群の数の表示を送信するよう配列されている、請求項1〜7に記載の通信システム。
- 中継通信ユニットであって、
通信源の通信ユニットから送信された第1の信号を受信することにより第1の受信信号サンプル群を生成する受信フロントエンドであって、前記第1の受信信号サンプル群が、少なくとも1つのアンテナから受信した信号をダウンコンバートした時間領域信号サンプル群に対応している、前記受信フロントエンドと、
前記第1の受信信号サンプル群のノイズ表示を生成する手段と、
前記ノイズ表示に関連する量子化レベル群を用いて前記第1の受信信号サンプル群を量子化した結果生じるノイズ寄与が基準を満たすよう、前記第1の受信信号サンプル群の前記量子化レベル群を決定する決定手段と、
前記決定された量子化レベル群を用いて前記第1の受信信号サンプル群を量子化することにより、量子化された信号サンプル群を生成する手段と、
前記量子化された信号サンプル群を第2の通信ユニットに送信する送信手段と、
を備えた中継通信ユニット。
