【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明はヘッドランプ、フォグランプなど照明を目的とする車両用灯具に関するものであり、詳細には車両の旋回に伴い、旋回方向に配光の照射軸が移動し、以降の進行方向を照射する構成とした可変配光ヘッドランプに係るものである。

【従来の技術】
従来のこの種の可変配光ヘッドランプ90の構成の例を示すものが図3及び図4であり、この可変配光ヘッドランプ90は、反射鏡91に取り付けられた光源92とからなり、前記光源92の位置で、車体に取付けられた状態での垂直方向に回転軸93で軸支されている。また、この回転軸93は、例えばステアリングシャフトなどの操舵装置(図示は省略する)に連動され、運転者のステアリングホイルの操作に伴い照射軸Xを車両の旋回方向に移動するものとされている。

そして、前記反射鏡91の前面側部には、車両に取付けられた際に見映えを良くするために、ハウジング又はエクステンション94を設け、前記反射鏡91と車体の一体感を得るようにしている。また、この前方にはアウターレンズ95が設けられ、前記可変配光ヘッドランプ90を密閉している。

このようにすることで、夜間など、可変配光ヘッドランプ90を点灯している状態での走行中に曲線路にさしかかると、図3に示すように、配光の照射軸Xが直進方向と一致している状態から、運転者の車両を旋回させるための操作に伴い、図4に示すように配光の照射軸Xが旋回方向に回動し、可変配光ヘッドランプ90が照射方向を旋回方向に向けるものとなるので、以後に走行する路面状態などの確認が行いやすく、即ち、安全性の向上に有効なものとされている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前記した従来の構成の可変配光ヘッドランプ90においては、車両の旋回時、反射鏡91及びこれに固定した光源92を旋回方向へ回転させるものであり、この際、車両の前方から見た場合、反射鏡91の裏面が観視されるものとなってしまい、見映えの悪いものとなってしまっていた。

さらには、前記反射鏡91の回動に伴い、前記エクステンション94との間に隙間を生じるものとなるため、この隙間より前記可変配光ヘッドランプ90や隣接するランプの内部が観視されてしまうものとなり、一層見映えの悪いものとなってしまっていた。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、前記した従来の課題を解決するための具体的手段として、車両の旋回に応じてハウジング内に設けられた反射鏡及び光源を回動させ車両旋回方向に配光の主軸を車両中心から移動させる可変配光ヘッドランプにおいて、前記反射鏡の水平方向端部付近には、前記反射鏡より後方又は側方に延びる立ち壁が形成されていることを特徴とする可変配光ヘッドランプを提供することで、課題を解決するものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に本発明を図に示す実施形態に基づいて詳細に説明する。図1は本発明の第一実施形態を示すものであり、図中に符号10で示すものは本発明に係る可変配光ヘッドランプである。前記可変配光ヘッドランプ10は白熱電球などの光源2が反射鏡1の所定位置に取り付けられてなるものであり、前記反射鏡1は放物反射面や自由曲面などからなるものである。

そして、前記光源2の位置で、車体に取付けられた状態での垂直方向に回転軸3で軸支されている。また、この回転軸3は、例えばステアリングシャフトなどの操舵装置(図示は省略する)に連動され、運転者のステアリングホイルの操作に伴い照射軸Xを車両の旋回方向に移動するものとされている。

そして、前記反射鏡1の前面の側部には、車両に取付けられた際に見映えを良くするために、ハウジングやエクステンション4が設けられ、前記反射鏡1と車体との一体感を得るようにしている。また、さらにこの前方にはアウターレンズ5が設けられ、前記可変配光ヘッドランプ10を密閉している。以上の構成は従来例のものと同様である。

ここで、本発明の第一実施形態では、前記反射鏡1の水平方向の端部に、立ち壁6を設けるものとしている。この立ち壁6について詳細に説明すると、前記反射鏡1の水平方向の両端部に、反射鏡1の先端から後端へ延びるよう、反射鏡1の垂直方向の厚さと略同一の幅を有する平板又は湾曲板からなるものである。この立ち壁6は反射鏡1と一体的に形成しても良く、本第一実施形態のように、別体のものを後から張り付けるものでも良い。

この立ち壁6は、前記反射鏡1の材質と同様なものを使用する方が、工程の省略となるが、全く異なる材料を用いることも当然可能である。そして、前記立ち壁6の外側には、前記反射鏡1の内面と同様な反射処理が施されてなるものであり、必要に応じて後端は外側に湾曲されてなるものである。

以上の構成によれば、車両が例えば右旋回を必要とする曲路にさしかかるとステアリング装置が操作され、前記反射鏡1もステアリング装置の操作量に応じる角度だけ右回転を行ない、照射軸Xを所定の方向へ向けるものである。この際、前記反射鏡1の回転により、前記反射鏡1の一端が前記エクステンション4側に突出するものとなるが、本第一実施形態では、この位置に立ち壁6が形成されているため、従来例のように前記反射鏡1の裏面が観視されることはないものとなる。

また、この立ち壁6の外側には、反射処理などが施され、前記反射鏡1の反射面と同様なものとされているため、美観に優れるものとなる。なお、この立ち壁6の外側には反射処理が施された例で説明したが、エクステンション4の代わりにハウジングやボディが位置する場合には、これらの色と同様にするなども可能である。

次に、図2は本発明に係る可変配光ヘッドランプ10の第二実施形態であり、この第二実施形態においてもステアリング装置の操作量に応じて回動する反射鏡1が設けられているものである点は前の第一実施形態と同様であり、又、反射鏡1の端部に立ち壁6が設けられるものである点も同様であるが、本第二実施形態では、さらにリブ7が設けられている。

前記リブ7は、反射鏡1の垂直方向の厚さ以上の幅を有する湾曲板からなり、前記反射鏡1の水平方向側面を主に覆うように配置されるものであり、この前記リブ7の取付けは、前記エクステンション4や図示しないハウジングやボディに行われるものである。なお、このリブ7も前記エクステンション4、図示しないハウジングやボディなどに一体的に成形しても当然良いものである。

そして、前記リブ7には、ローレットカットを施すなどして、ステアリング装置が操作され、前記可変配光ヘッドランプ10が駆動され、反射鏡1が回動し、光源2から照射された光が前記リブ7に反射することによるグレア光を防止する処理が施されても良いものである。また、前記リブ7の第一の目的は、前記可変配光ヘッドランプ10の可動により、反射鏡1が回動し、可変配光ヘッドランプ10の内部が観視されてしまうのを防止する目的で設けるものであるため、前記リブ7は単にハウジングやボディと同色にするのみで、この前記リブ7が観視されても、違和感のないものとすれば良いものである。

以上のように、本第二実施形態によれば可変配光ヘッドランプ10が駆動され、反射鏡1が回動し隙間が生じた場合にも、前記リブ7が形成されているため、可変配光ヘッドランプ10やこれに連接される他のランプの内部が観視されてしまうことがなく、美観に優れるものとなる。また、前記リブ7に適宜なローレットカットを施すなどすれば、可変配光ヘッドランプ10によるグレア光の発生を防止することができるものとなる。

【発明の効果】
本発明により可変配光ヘッドランプ10を以上の構成としたことで、この可変配光ヘッドランプ10の駆動により反射鏡1が回動した場合でも、前記反射鏡1の裏面が観視されることなく、前記立ち壁6が観視されるものとなり、この立ち壁6をエクステンション4、ハウジングやボディと同様な反射処理や色とすることにより、可変配光ヘッドランプ10は反射鏡1が回動した場合でも車体との一体感を持つものとなり、美観に優れるものとなる。

また、前記リブ7を設けることにより、この可変配光ヘッドランプ10の駆動により反射鏡1が回動し、エクステンション4との間に間隔が生じた場合でも、前記リブ7が観視されるものとなるため、前記可変配光ヘッドランプ10やこれに隣接する他のランプの内部が観視されてしまうことがなく、この可変配光ヘッドランプ10の駆動により見映えが悪くなることがない。さらに、前記リブ7に所定のローレットカットなどを施せば、グレア光を発生させることがないとともに、他のランプとの調和がとれるものとなり、一体感のあるものとなる。
