そこで、本発明者らは、重量をアップさせることなく切り落とされた箇所に必要な強度及び剛性を与えるため、当該箇所に補強部材を取り付けることとし、本発明を完成した。

Accordingly, the present inventors have completed the present invention by attaching a reinforcing member to the portion that has been cut off without increasing the weight, in order to give the necessary strength and rigidity to the portion.

本発明に係るバンパーリインフォースは、中空断面を有するアルミニウム合金押出材からなり、車幅方向両側部が水平面内で車体側に曲げ加工され、その前面側が残された厚みが端にいくほど薄くなるように斜めに切り落とされたバンパーリインフォース本体部と、その切り落とされた箇所の前面側に宛われて前記バンパーリインフォース本体部とともに中空断面を構成し、かつ前記バンパーリインフォースに固定された補強部材からなり、前記補強部材は、前記切り落とされた箇所の切断面に当接してこれを覆う板状部を備える。なお、本発明において前面側とは衝突面側(車体側の反対側)を意味する。
前記アルミニウム合金押出材の材質は、特に限定されないが、成形性の面からJIS600系又は7000系が望ましく、断面形状は例えば口側、日型、目型等の矩形の輪郭を有することが望ましい。
また、前記板状部の上下に形成されて前記バンパーリインフォース本体部を上下から挟むフランジ部を備えることが望ましい。
