自動車部品等、各種機械部品、例えば、自動車のシリンダーヘッド、シリンダーブロック、インテークマニホール等はアルミニウム等の金属を鋳造加工して製造される。この鋳造によって得られる鋳造物には中子砂、湯口、押し湯、バリ等の不用物が付着しているため、この不用物を鋳造物から切断除去する必要がある。

上述の目的を達成するため、本発明によれば、鋳造物に付着した不用物を切断除去するトリミングプレス装置であって、鋳造物を固定して位置決めする保持治具と、位置決めされた鋳造物から不用物を切断除去するトリミングプレスカッターとを備えたトリミングプレス装置において、前記鋳造物を180度反転する反転機構を備え、かつ、前記トリミングプレスカッターが入れ替え自在な複数のカッターを備えてなり、このうちの任意のカッターの入れ替えにより一台の設備で鋳造物の複数面の不用物除去を可能としたことを特徴とする。
