(3)棹縁アダプタ13を棹縁27に位置決めする。具体的には、棹縁対応部44に棹縁27を沿わしつつ、棹縁27に取り付けられているシーリングボディ24を挿通部33に通す。
(4)棹縁アダプタ13を持ち上げて弾性部材15を圧縮させつつ、シーリングボディ24にシーリングアダプタ25を装着する。その際、挿通部33の対シーリングアダプタ部34は、シーリングアダプタ25の上面に乗ることで、棹縁アダプタ13は支持されるため、棹縁アダプタ13から手を放しても落下することはない。
(5)天井用照明器具11の中央孔23にシーリングアダプタ25を通して、天井用照明器具11をシーリングアダプタ25の係止爪28に固定する。その際、対器具部32が圧縮されると共に、上記(4)の状態よりも弾性部材15がわずかに圧縮され、シーリングアダプタ25の上面より対シーリングアダプタ部34が僅かに浮き上がる程度が最も好ましいが、上記(4)の状態に比して弾性部材15の圧縮が行われずシーリングアダプタ25の上面に対シーリングアダプタ部34が接触た状態を維持するものであっても、使用には差し支えない。

この棹縁アダプタ13は、丸形の天井用照明器具11に用いることができるほか、図8に示すように、角形の天井用照明器具11にも用いることができる。支持体31は、金属板製として実施したが、必ずしも板状の部材で形成する必要はなく、天井用照明器具11を通すことができること、天井面対応部及び対機器部を支持できることを条件に、金属製のパイプや棒材で構成するなどしてもよい。

上記対天井部は、上記棹縁の下方に配位される棹縁対応部と、この棹縁対応部よりも高い位置に配位される天井面対応部とを備え、
上記天井面対応部は、高さの異なる複数の対応部を備え、
