Description
紫外(UV)放射線は高強度紫外線灯40から送られ、紫外線入口開口35を通り且つ、図2に示すように、紫外線窓下面36に入る。第一の紫外光線71が紫外線窓下面から出て、屈折によって曲げられ且つ、流体5に入って第二の紫外光線72を画成する。第二の紫外光線72は、流体5と接触した流体入口管10の内面13に、内面13の直角の面に対して測定したときの入射角度1にて衝突する。第二の紫外光線72が流体入口管10の側壁に入ると、該光線は屈折によって曲げられ且つ、新たな内反射角度2にて方向変更され、第三の紫外光線73を画成する。

Claims (15)
- 紫外放射線(UV)を使用して流体を滅菌するシステムにおいて、
(a)第一の屈折率を有する滅菌すべき流体(5)を運ぶ流体入口管(10)であって、第二の屈折率を有する材料で製造され、且つ、入口端部(11)と、該入口端部とは反対側の末端に位置する出口端部(12)と、前記流体と接触する内面(13)と、外面(14)と、を有する前記流体入口管(10)と、
(b)前記流体入口管(10)の長さの少なくとも一部の前記外面の周りに配置された光学クラッド管(20)であって、前記流体入口管と該光クラッド管との間に第三の屈折率を有する同心状空隙(15)を画成する前記光クラッド管(20)と、
(c)前記流体入口管(10)及び前記光クラッド管(20)の周りの流体封じ込め容器(30)であって、前記流体入口管(10)の一部分が該流体封じ込め容器(30)から延びており、前記同心状空隙(15)が前記流体封じ込め容器(30)から液圧に関して隔離されるようになされている前記流体封じ込め容器(30)と、
(d)前記流体封じ込め容器(30)に配置され且つ該流体封じ込め容器の一部分を形成する紫外線入口開口(35)と、
(e)前記紫外線入口開口(35)を通り且つ所定の範囲の入射角度にて前記流体入口管(10)の前記内面に衝突する紫外放射線を提供する高強度紫外線灯(40)とを備え、
(f)前記所定の範囲の入射角度が、前記第一、第二及び第三の屈折率に従って制限され、前記光クラッド管(20)が配置された位置で前記流体入口管(10)が光パイプとして機能し、前記光クラッド管(20)が配置された位置で前記流体入口管(10)の前記内面に衝突する前記紫外放射線の実質的に全てが全内反射をしながら前記流体入口管(10)内を通って伝播するようになされており、
(g)前記流体封じ込め容器(30)から延びる流体出口管(50)をさらに備える、紫外放射線(UV)を使用して流体を滅菌するシステム。 - 前記同心状空隙が真空を保持している、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記同心状空隙が、乾燥空気、窒素及びアルゴンから成る群から選ばれた気体を保持している、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記同心状空隙が、ガラス、プレキシガラス及びアクリル樹脂から成る群から選ばれた透明な固体を保持している、請求項1のシステム。
- 滅菌処理すべき前記流体が飲料水である、請求項1のシステム。
- 滅菌処理すべき前記流体が呼気可能な流体である、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記流体入口管及び前記光学クラッド管の各々が多角形の断面を有している、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記流体封じ込め容器内に配置された前記流体入口管の一部分が、前記光クラッド管の一端を経て延びるようになされている、請求項1のシステム。
- 流体を滅菌する装置であって、
紫外線反射鏡(31)を有する外殻と、出口端部(12)が前記外殻内に挿入され前記外殻内に流体を導入する流体入口管(10)と、前記外殻から流体を排出する出口(50)と、前記外殻の一部を形成する紫外線窓(36)と、前記流体入口管(10)の少なくとも一部を囲み且つ前記流体より小さい屈折率を有する空隙(15)とを有する容器(30)と、
前記紫外線窓(36)を通り且つ所定の範囲の入射角度にて前記流体入口管(10)の内面に衝突する紫外放射線を提供する紫外線灯(40)と、
を備え、
前記紫外放射線が前記紫外線窓(36)を介して前記外殻内及び前記流体入口管(10)内に伝達され、前記流体入口管(10)内に伝達された紫外線は、前記空隙(15)によって実質的に全内反射をしながら前記流体入口管(10)内を伝播し、前記外殻内で前記流体入口管(10)の外側に伝達される紫外線は、前記紫外線反射鏡(31)によって反射されるように構成されている、
流体を滅菌する装置。 - 紫外線(UV)エネルギを用いて流体を清浄化する装置であって、
浄化された流体を封じ込める容器(30)と、
清浄化されるべき流体が流れるところの管(10)にして、紫外線非吸収性材料で出来ており、出口端部(12)が前記容器(30)内に挿入され前記容器(30)への入口を形成する管(10)と、
前記管(10)の少なくとも一部を囲み且つ前記流体より小さい屈折率を有する空隙(15)と、
前記容器(30)の少なくとも一部を構成する窓の面(36)と、
前記紫外線窓(36)を通り且つ所定の範囲の入射角度にて前記流体入口管(10)の内面に衝突する紫外放射線を提供する紫外線灯(40)と、を備え、
前記窓の面(36)は、前記紫外線灯(40)からの前記紫外線エネルギが通って前記管(10)内の前記流体と結合するようになされており、
前記紫外線エネルギが全内反射によって前記管(10)の長さの一部の範囲内に封じ込められるようになされている、流体を清浄化する装置。 - 前記空隙が前記管の下部を囲んでいる、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記空隙が乾燥空気または真空を保持している、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記管がアルミニウムで製造されている、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記管が紫外線等級の溶融石英ガラスで出来ている、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記管が多角形の断面を有している、請求項10に記載の装置。
