この発明は、ISDB(Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting)システム等に適用して好適な送信装置に関する。詳しくは、受信側でモザイク化処理するための加工範囲情報を含む付加情報を発生し、この付加情報を番組信号に付加して送信することによって、受信側で加工範囲情報で示される領域や時間範囲にモザイク化処理を自由に行い得るようにした送信装置に係るものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、放送局等から送出されるテレビ番組等の視聴率は、ある特定の視聴率調査会社がサンプリングを行って調査している。また、従来の放送では、放送局がテレビ番組等の放送ソースを不特定多数の視聴者に対して一方的に伝送するものであり、視聴者側では同じ放送ソースを視聴することになる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
放送局等から送出されるテレビ番組等の視聴率は、上述したようにある特定の視聴率調査会社がサンプリングを行って調査しているため、サンプリングの数によっては正確とは言えないし、録画等の場合は視聴率に現れないという問題点がある。また、実際に視聴者が視聴したかどうかをチェックができないため、細かい課金のシステムを構築することが困難であった。さらに、上述したように放送局がテレビ番組等の放送ソースを不特定多数の視聴者に対して一方的に伝送するものであり、視聴者の意向を反映した放送は困難であった。

そこで、この発明では、受信側で加工範囲情報で示される領域や時間範囲にモザイク化処理を自由に行い得るようにした送信装置を提供するものである。

【発明を解決するための手段】
この発明に係る送信装置は、番組信号に対応する番組識別情報及び当該番組信号の一部を受信側でモザイク化処理するための加工範囲情報を含む付加情報を発生する付加情報発生手段と、モザイク化処理されていない上記番組信号に上記付加情報を付加して送信する送信手段とを備えるものである。

この発明においては、モザイク化処理されていない番組信号にモザイク化処理するための加工範囲情報を含む付加情報が付加されて送信される。そのため、受信側で加工範囲情報で示される領域や時間範囲にモザイク化処理を自由に行い得る。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面を参照しながら、この発明の実施の形態を説明する。図1は送信装置100を示している。図1に示す送信装置100は、符号器101-1〜101-nと、ヘッダ情報発生部102と、コンピュータからなり、システム全体を制御するための制御部103と、パケットエンコーダ104-1〜104-nとを有している。

符号器101-1〜101-nは、それぞれテレビジョン信号としての映像信号および音声信号に対して圧縮等を含めた適切な符号化処理を行うためのものである。符号器101-1〜101-nの動作はそれぞれ制御部103によって制御される。パケットエンコーダ104-1〜104-nは、それぞれ一定の大きさの統一したパケットを得るためのものである。パケットエンコーダ104-1〜104-nには、それぞれ符号器101-1〜101-nの出力データが供給されてパケット化処理が行われる。

図2は、1個のパケットを示している。パケットは、パケットデータとその先頭に付加されたパケットヘッダで構成される。パケットヘッダはパケットデータを識別するためのものであって、放送局識別情報(放送局ID)、番組識別情報(番組ID)、放送時間情報、タイムコード等の情報を含んでいる。本形態において、このパケットヘッダには、さらに番組がアダルトビデオ等でモザイク化処理の対象部分が含まれるときは、モザイク化処理を施すべき領域範囲や時間範囲の加工範囲情報が含まれる。パケットヘッダの情報は、制御部103の制御によって、ヘッダ情報発生部102で発生される。

また、図1に示す送信装置100は、多重化部105と、ディジタル変調回路106と、アップコンバータ107と、送信アンテナ108とを有している。多重化部105は、複数スロットのパケットを多重化するためのものである。多重化部105には、パケットエンコーダ104-1〜104-nよりそれぞれ出力されるパケットが複数スロットのパケットとして順次並列的に供給され、これらのパケットが多重化されてビットストリーム信号が形成される。ディジタル変調回路106は、ディジタルデータを送信手段(本形態では放送衛星)に適した変調方式でもって変調処理するためのものである。ディジタル変調回路106には多重化部105より出力されるビットストリーム信号が供給される。

以上の構成において、符号器101-1〜101-nで符号化処理されたテレビジョン信号(映像信号および音声信号)はそれぞれパケットエンコーダ104-1〜104-nに供給されてパケット化処理される。この場合、制御部103の制御でもってヘッダ情報発生部102よりヘッダ情報が発生され、パケットエンコーダ104-1〜104-nでパケット化処理されるに際して、それぞれのパケットデータの先頭に番組識別情報等を含むパケットヘッダが付加される(図2参照)。

また、パケットエンコーダ104-1〜104-nより出力されるパケットは多重化部105に複数スロットのパケットとして順次並列的に供給されて多重化され、ビットストリーム信号が形成される。このビットストリーム信号はディジタル変調回路106で変調処理された後にアップコンバータ107で例えば14GHz帯の信号とされて送信アンテナ108より放送衛星(図示せず)に向けて送信される。

また、図3は受信装置200を示している。図3に示す受信装置200は、放送衛星より送信されてくる12GHz帯の放送信号を受信するための受信アンテナ201と、12GHz帯の信号を1GHz帯の信号に変換するためのダウンコンバータ202と、所望の放送信号を受信するための選局処理を行うチューナ203と、マイクロコンピュータ(マイコン)を有して構成され、システム全体を制御するための制御部204とを有している。

ダウンコンバータ202には受信アンテナ201で受信された12GHz帯の放送信号が供給されてダウンコンバート処理される。チューナ203の選局動作は制御部204によって制御される。制御部204にはキー操作部205が接続されており、視聴者(ユーザ)はこのキー操作部205でもって選局操作を行うことができる。チューナ203からは選局された放送信号に係るビットストリーム信号(複数スロットのパケットの多重化信号)が出力される。

また、図3に示す受信装置200は、分離部206と、復号部207と、陰極線管等で構成されるモニタディスプレイ208と、アンプ209と、スピーカ210と、メモリ211とを有している。分離部206にはチューナ203より出力されるビットストリーム信号が供給される。分離部206では、ビットストリーム信号より所定スロットのパケットを分離すると共に、そのパケットよりパケットデータおよびパケットヘッダを分離する処理が行われる。この分離部206における所定スロットの選択は、ユーザのキー操作部205の操作に基づき、制御部204の制御によって行われる。

復号部207には、分離部206で分離される所定スロットのパケットを構成するパケットデータが供給される。復号部207では、連続するパケットデータに対して復号化処理が行われて、映像信号SVおよび音声信号SAが得られる。モニタディスプレイ208には復号部207より出力される映像信号SVが供給される。また、スピーカ210には復号部207より出力される音声信号SAがアンプ209を介して供給される。

メモリ211には、分離部206で分離される所定スロットのパケットを構成するパケットヘッダに含まれる情報(ヘッダ情報)のうち番組識別情報が抜き出されて記憶される。そして、ある一定時間が過ぎればオーバーライトされて消去される。このように、メモリ211には、視聴者が実際に視聴した番組が何であるかを特定するための番組識別情報が格納されることとなる。なお、ヘッダ情報は分離部206より制御部204にも供給される。

また、図3に示す受信装置200は、モデム212を有している。このモデム212は、制御部204に接続されると共に、電話回線網を介して放送局や視聴率調査会社に接続される。放送局や視聴率調査会社よりモデム212を介して番組識別情報の要求があるとき、制御部204はメモリ211に記憶されている番組識別情報を読み出してモデム212を介して放送局や視聴率調査会社に送信する。

以上の構成において、視聴者のキー操作部205の操作に基づき、制御部204の制御によってチューナ203で選局が行われ、このチューナ203より選局された放送信号に係るビットストリーム信号が出力されて分離部206に供給される。そして、視聴者のキー操作部205の操作に基づき、制御部204の制御によって分離部203ではビットストリーム信号より所定スロットのパケットが分離されると共に、そのパケットよりパケットデータおよびパケットヘッダが分離される。

分離部206で分離された所定スロットのパケットを構成するパケットデータは復号部207に順次供給されて復号化処理が行われ、映像信号SVおよび音声信号SAが得られる。そして、映像信号SVがモニタディスプレイ208に供給されて画像が表示されると共に、音声信号SAがアンプ209で増幅されてスピーカ210に供給されて音声が出力される。

また、分離部206で分離された所定スロットのパケットを構成するパケットヘッダに含まれる情報のうち番組識別情報が抜き出されてメモリ211に一時的に記憶される。放送局や視聴率調査会社よりモデム212を介して番組識別情報が要求されるとき、メモリ211に記憶されている番組識別情報がモデム212を介して放送局や視聴率調査会社に送信される。これにより、放送局では放送した番組を実際に視聴したかどうかのチェックを容易に行うことができ、例えば番組単位あるいは時間単位等、きめ細かい視聴料金を計算できる。また、視聴率調査会社では、ある一定期間内の番組識別情報の集計を行って正確な視聴率を調査できる。

図4は受信装置200の他の構成を示している。この図4において、図3と対応する部分には同一符号を付し、その詳細説明は省略する。図4の受信装置200は、モザイク化処理部213を有している。復号部207より出力される映像信号SVはモザイク化処理部213を介してモニタディスプレイ208に供給される。

このように本例においては、番組にモザイク化処理パケットヘッダには、さらに番組にモザイク化処理の対象部分が含まれるときは、モザイク化処理部213でもって所定の領域範囲や時間範囲でもってモザイク化処理が行われ、モニタディスプレイ208にはモザイク化処理された画像が表示される。この場合、視聴者はキー操作部205の操作でモザイクレベルを設定でき、任意のモザイクレベルでもって番組を視聴できる。また、放送局よりモデム212を介して番組識別情報が要求されるとき、メモリ211に記憶されている番組識別情報およびモザイクレベルの情報がモデム212を介して放送局や視聴率調査会社に送信される。これにより、放送局ではモザイクレベルに応じた課金を行うことができる。

なお、図4に示す受信装置200では、加工処理としてモザイク化処理の例を挙げたものであるが、その他の加工処理を適用することもできる。また、図3および図4の受信装置200では、メモリ211に記憶された番組識別情報等はモデム212を介して放送局等に送信されるものを示したが、これらの情報をメモリカードに記憶させておき、放送局等がメモリカードを回収できるようにしてもよい。
