Description

前述した、展開された電極の構成のいずれにおいても、刺激信号は、様々な電極間で切り替えられて、任意の特定の時点で、すべての電極はアクティブではないようにされることが可能である。したがって、複数の電極に刺激信号を印加するための方法は、任意の順序で、(a)電極ペアを選択すること、(b)選択されたペアに刺激信号を印加すること、(c)目標に送り込まれるエネルギー(または電荷量)を監視すること、(d)送られたエネルギー(または電荷量)が、限度未満である場合、選択された電極群の少なくとも1つの電極が、刺激信号伝送回路を形成するように目標に十分に結合されていないと結論付けること、および(e)所定の合計刺激(エネルギーおよび/または電荷量)が送られるまで、選択すること、印加すること、および監視することを繰り返すことを含む。そのような方法を実行するマイクロプロセッサは、ミリ秒未満で適切な電極群を識別することができ、したがって、電極群を選択する時間は、目標によって知覚されない。
Claims (11)
- プロセッサを有する不動化デバイスの複数の電極から、目標を不動化する際に使用するための電極サブセットを選択するための方法であって、該方法は、
前記プロセッサに格納されたエントリシーケンスを呼び戻すステップであって、各エントリは、それぞれの電極サブセットを識別するものである、ステップと、
前記エントリシーケンスに従って、各電極サブセットを順次試験するステップであって、該ステップは、前記順次試験に基いて選択された電極サブセットを流れる電流を介して前記目標を不動化するステップに先立つものである、ステップと、
を含む方法。 - 複数電極を前記目標に向けて前進させるステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記電流を供給する手段を前記目標に向けて前進させるステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- テスト信号及び不動化信号を供給する信号源と、
複数の電極と、
前記複数の電極の多数の電極サブセットのそれぞれを前記信号源に選択的に結合して、各電極サブセットを試験するための前記テスト信号を供給し、また、試験に基いて選択された電極サブセットを介して、目標を不動化する前記不動化信号を供給する、回路と、
を含む不動化デバイス。 - 前記回路は、更に、前記多数の各サブセットを前記信号源に結合したことに応答して、それぞれの試験結果を確定し、前記それぞれの試験結果を限度値と比較することに従って、前記選択された電極サブセットを選定する請求項4に記載のデバイス。
- 前記不動化信号は、イオン化電圧より小さいピーク電圧を含む請求項4に記載のデバイス。
