Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a radio apparatus and a radio base station. In particular, the present invention relates to a radio apparatus and an apparatus for adjusting a transmission / reception system in a radio base station.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In wireless communication, adaptive array technology has been studied in order to effectively use frequency resources and improve communication quality. The adaptive array includes adaptive beamforming and adaptive null steering, and adaptive beamforming is a technique for transmitting to a wireless device to be communicated with the maximum transmission power, and adaptive null steering is a wireless device that is not a communication target. This is a technique for preventing interference with the above. A radio apparatus having adaptive array technology generally receives signals with a plurality of antennas, and in order to perform adaptive beamforming, the amplitude and phase of a transmission signal so as to obtain the maximum transmission power for the radio apparatus to be communicated with. To control. On the other hand, in order to perform adaptive null steering, the amplitude and phase of a signal are controlled so as not to receive interference from a wireless device that is not a communication target.
[0003]
In a wireless device having a plurality of antennas, if there is non-uniformity in the characteristics of the transmission system and reception system hardware corresponding to each antenna, the amplitude of the radio frequency (RF) signal transmitted from each antenna The phase is different from the desired one. Therefore, in an adaptive array with multiple antennas, the amplitude and phase of the signal are controlled by adaptive beamforming and adaptive beam steering, so calibration processing is performed to adjust the hardware characteristics of the transmission system and reception system. (For example, refer to Patent Document 1). Further, since the hardware characteristics are also affected by the temperature, it is necessary to detect and adjust the difference in hardware characteristics between the transmission system and the reception system in each antenna according to the temperature change.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Under such circumstances, the present inventor has come to recognize the following problems. In order to increase the coverage area of the radio base station apparatus, it is desirable to install the antenna of the radio base station apparatus at a high place such as a steel tower. At that time, considering the maintenance of the radio base station apparatus, it is desirable that the radio base station apparatus itself be installed in a low place such as a building that can be operated by the maintenance manager. That is, it is suitable to install the radio base station apparatus separately from the radio signal processing module including an antenna and a transmission amplifier. On the other hand, in order to optimize the characteristics of the adaptive array provided in the radio base station apparatus, it is better to execute the calibration process even during the period in which the radio base station apparatus communicates with the radio terminal apparatus.

[0016]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In this embodiment, signal processing includes an amplifier provided corresponding to a plurality of antennas, an RF module including the plurality of antennas, and a transmission / reception unit that can simultaneously process signals from a plurality of carriers having different frequencies. The present invention relates to a base station apparatus in which apparatuses are separately provided. The RF module performs signal processing so that the base station device performs communication processing for a terminal device to be communicated at a predetermined frequency, and simultaneously performs calibration processing for a transmitter / receiver and an amplifier included therein at a different frequency. In addition to being connected to a signal transmission / reception unit in the apparatus by a signal transmission cable, it is connected to a calibration processing unit in the signal processing apparatus by a calibration cable.
[0017]
The calibration cable originally requires several antennas, but in this embodiment, after the couplers connected to each of the plurality of antennas are connected in series by the first calibration cable, A coupler connected to one antenna and a calibration processing unit in the signal processing device are connected by a second calibration cable. With the above configuration, the number of calibration cables between the RF module and the signal processing device can be reduced. Furthermore, if the RF module is installed at a high place away from the signal processing device, and the distance between the antennas is designed to be limited to the size of the RF module, the length of the first calibration cable is the second calibration cable. The cable length can be shorter than the cable length, and the total cable length can be reduced. In addition, since the number of calibration cable connection terminals of the RF module can be reduced, the connection process of the RF module can be simplified.

The antenna 10 connects a plurality of terminal devices not shown by a predetermined RF. Here, the number of antennas 10 is 3 × N, and is not limited to either an omnidirectional antenna or a directional antenna.

The RF module 12 amplifies the RF signal to be transmitted input by the RF signal line 200 and outputs the amplified signal to the antenna 10, and amplifies the RF signal received by the antenna 10 and outputs it by the RF signal line 200. Further, signals necessary for the calibration process are input / output from the inter-module calibration cable 202. Here, it is assumed that one RF module 12 connects three antennas 10, and accordingly, one RF signal line 200 is constituted by three cables.

With the above configuration, the inter-module calibration cable 202 and the inter-coupler calibration cable 206 are provided separately from the data communication process for the calibration process. When there are a plurality of antennas 10, the number of inter-coupler calibration cables 206 is larger than that of the inter-module calibration cables 202, and the length of the inter-coupler calibration cables 206 is shorter than that of the inter-module calibration cables 202. Therefore, the length of the cable can be shortened as compared with the case where all the modules are configured with the inter-module calibration cable 202. In particular, when the RF module 12 is installed at a high place, the effect is further increased.
[0045]
For example, if the RF module 12 is installed at 100 meters, the number of antennas 10 is 3, and the length of the calibration cable 206 between couplers is shortened to a negligible level, a total of 300 meters can be shortened to 100 meters. It is. Furthermore, if the cost per meter of the cable is between 1000 yen and 10,000 yen, the cost can be reduced from 200000 yen to 2000000 yen. The cost reduction effect is further increased if the number of antennas 10 is increased and the RF module 12 is installed at a higher location.
[0046]
According to the present embodiment, after the couplers connected to each of the plurality of antennas are connected in series by the first calibration cable, the calibration process in the signal processing apparatus and the coupler connected to one antenna is performed. Since the units are connected by the second calibration cable, the number of calibration cables between the RF module and the signal processing device can be reduced, and the total length of necessary cables can be reduced. Moreover, since the downstream

[0048]
In this embodiment, the inter-module calibration cable 202 is connected to one RF module 12. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and a plurality of RF modules 12 are connected by an inter-coupler calibration cable 206. The inter-module calibration cable 202 may be connected to the RF module 12. At this time, the upstream
