Description
修飾されたデンプンに対する錯化剤(たとえば、四ホウ酸ナトリウム十水塩、モリブデン酸ナトリウム二水和物、二硫化モリブデンまたは他の化合物)の比率は、ボード/スラリー工程において他に必要な特性、すなわち、発泡支持体およびスラリー添加物の親和性
の制御に著しく影響する。

ここで、
Q1=材料1の重量、HLB1=材料1のHLB値
Q2=材料2の重量、HLB2=材料2のHLB値
Qn=材料nの重量、HLBn=材料nのHLB値
エマルジョンは、少なくとも一種類のワックス、アルキルフェノール、ポリナフタレンスルホン酸塩およびデンプン複合体を混合し、均質化することによって形成される。下記の表2は、本実施形態にしたがって作製されたエマルジョンの例を示す。
Claims (34)
- リグノセルロース複合材料製品に耐水性を付与するのに有用なエマルジョンであって、
少なくとも一種類のワックスと、
アルキルフェノールと、
ポリナフタレンスルホン酸と
アルカリ金属水酸化物と
水と、
デンプン複合体と、
を備えることを特徴とするエマルジョン。 - 前記ワックスのうち少なくとも1種類以上が鹸化可能なワックスであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエマルジョン。
- アルカリ金属水酸化物が水酸化ナトリウムおよび水酸化カリウムからなる群より選ばれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエマルジョン。
- アルキルフェノールがC24−C34のメチレンが結合したアルキルフェノールであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエマルジョン。
- デンプン複合体がデンプンならびにホウ酸塩化合物およびモリブデン化合物からなる群から選ばれる錯化剤との複合体であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエマルジョン。
- 錯化剤が四ホウ酸ナトリウム十水塩であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のエマルジョン。
- デンプン複合体が、無修飾デンプン、酸修飾デンプン、ヒドロキシエチル化デンプン、酸化デンプンおよびカチオン化デンプンからなる群より選ばれることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のエマルジョン。
- デンプン複合体が酸修飾デンプンであることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のエマルジョン。
- 錯化剤とデンプンとの比が、重量を基準として、約1:4から約1:20であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のエマルジョン。
- リグノセルロース複合材料製品に耐水性を付与するのに有用なエマルジョンを製造する方法であって、
(a)少なくとも一種類のワックスおよびアルキルフェノールを混合して、第1のプレミックスを用意する工程と、
(b) ポリナフタレンスルホン酸、アルカリ金属水酸化物、水およびデンプン複合体を混合して、第2のプレミックスを用意する工程と、
(c)第1のプレミックスおよび第2のプレミックスを混合して、混合物を用意する工程と、
(d)混合物を均質化する工程と、
を含むことを特徴とするエマルジョン製造方法。 - アルカリ金属水酸化物が水酸化ナトリウムおよび水酸化カリウムからなる群より選ばれることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- 前記(a)工程および(b)工程が、第1のプレミックスおよび第2のプレミックスを約185°Fから約195°Fに加熱する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項10に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- 前記(d)工程が、少なくとも3500psiの圧力下で実行されることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- アルキルフェノールがC24−C34のメチレンが結合したアルキルフェノールであることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- デンプン複合体がデンプンならびにホウ酸塩化合物およびモリブデン化合物からなる群から選ばれる錯化剤との複合体であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- 錯化剤が四ホウ酸ナトリウム十水塩であることを特徴とする請求項15に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- デンプン複合体が、無修飾デンプン、酸修飾デンプン、ヒドロキシエチル化デンプン、酸化デンプンおよびカチオン化デンプンからなる群より選ばれることを特徴とする請求項15に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- デンプン複合体が酸修飾デンプンであることを特徴とする請求項15に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- 錯化剤とデンプンとの比が、重量を基準として、約1:4から約1:20であることを特徴とする請求項17に記載のエマルジョン製造方法。
- リグノセルロース複合材料製品に耐水性を付与するのに有用なエマルジョンであって、
エマルジョンの全重量を基準として約25重量%から約40重量%の量の少なくとも一種類のワックスと、
エマルジョンの全重量を基準として約2.5重量%から約4.5重量%の量の鹸化可能なワックスと、
エマルジョンの全重量を基準として約0.25重量%から約10.0重量%の量のアルキルフェノールと、
エマルジョンの全重量を基準として約0.25重量%から約5.0重量%の量のポリナフタレンスルホン酸と、
エマルジョンの全重量を基準として約55重量%から約65重量%の量の水と、
エマルジョンの全重量を基準として約0.5重量%から約1.5重量%の量のアルカリ金属水酸化物と、
エマルジョンの全重量を基準として約1.5重量%から約3.5重量%の量のデンプン複合体とを含み、
前記デンプン複合体が、デンプンならびにホウ酸塩化合物およびモリブデン化合物からなる群から選ばれる錯化剤を含み、
前記デンプンと前記錯化剤とが、約4:1から約20:1の重量比を有することを特徴とするエマルジョン。 - 請求項1に記載のエマルジョンを含むことを特徴とするリグノセルロース複合材料製品。
- 前記リグノセルロース複合材料製品が配向性ストランドボードであることを特徴とする請求項21に記載のリグノセルロース複合材料製品。
- 前記リグノセルロース複合材料製品がパーティクルボードであることを特徴とする請求項21に記載のリグノセルロース複合材料製品。
- 前記リグノセルロース複合材料製品がファイバーボードであることを特徴とする請求項21に記載のリグノセルロース複合材料製品。
- リグノセルロース複合材料製品に耐水性を付与するのに有用なエマルジョンであって、
少なくとも一種類のワックスと、
アルキルフェノールと、
ポリナフタレンスルホン酸と、
アルカリ金属水酸化物と、
水と、
デンプンと
を備えることを特徴とするエマルジョン。 - アルカリ金属水酸化物が水酸化ナトリウムおよび水酸化カリウムからなる群より選ばれることを特徴とする請求項25に記載のエマルジョン。
- アルキルフェノールがC24−C34のメチレンが結合したアルキルフェノールであることを特徴とする請求項25に記載のエマルジョン。
