従来この様な要望に対して、前記した後者の拡大率が変化する装置の場合は、計測が必要な部位毎にスチールボールを埋め込んだ咬合用バイトピースを被験者と共に撮影して、その画像データ上でスチールボール間の寸法を測定し基準値と比較して補正を行っていた。必要な部位の距離を測定するためには、その都度、実測値を基準値と比較して計算することにより真の距離を得ていた。
