BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a heavy-duty pneumatic tire, and in particular, a bead core provided on a pair of left and right bead parts, and extends from the crown part to both bead parts via both side wall parts and wound around the bead core to bead. A carcass ply made of a radial cord layer moored at a portion, and a main cross belt and a tread disposed on the outer side in the crown portion radial direction of the carcass ply, the main cross belt being substantially non-extensible There are at least three rubber-coated cord layers in which a plurality of metal cords are embedded in the coated rubber. The cords extend parallel to each other in the layers, and the cords cross each other between adjacent layers and are reversed with the tire equatorial plane in between. The present invention relates to a heavy-duty pneumatic radial tire that is laminated so as to extend in a direction.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, a heavy-duty pneumatic tire represented by a pneumatic tire for a construction vehicle having a main crossing belt as described above is susceptible to belt end separation failure. This belt end separation failure is caused by fatigue of the belt end rubber due to dynamic interlaminar shear strain applied by the load, driving force, braking force and lateral force applied to the tire in addition to the interlaminar shear strain due to the tire air pressure. Is.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In order to prevent such belt end separation failure, in a heavy duty pneumatic radial tire equipped with a conventional main cross belt, the left and right sides are covered so as to cover both end portions between adjacent rubber-coated cord layers forming the main cross belt. A pair of belt end cushion rubbers are arranged, but no special consideration has been given to the mutual positional relationship between the cushion rubbers located at the same belt end. As a result, the shear strain between the rubber-coated cord layer forming the main crossing belt and the belt end cushion rubber is increased, which may cause a problem that the belt end separation failure is likely to occur.
[0004]
An object of the present invention is to prevent or suppress the occurrence of a belt end separation failure by eliminating the disadvantages of the conventional tire as described above and optimally setting the mutual positional relationship between cushion rubbers located at the same belt end. Another object of the present invention is to provide a heavy-duty pneumatic radial tire excellent in belt end separation resistance.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The tire according to the present invention includes a bead core provided in a pair of left and right bead portions, a radial cord layer that extends from the crown portion to both bead portions via both sidewall portions, and is wound around the bead core and moored to the bead portions. A carcass ply, and a main cross belt and a tread disposed radially outward of the crown portion of the carcass ply, and the main cross belt includes a plurality of substantially non-extensible metal cords in the coated rubber. At least three rubber-coated cord layers that are buried are formed so that the cords extend parallel to each other in the layers, and the cords cross each other and extend in opposite directions across the tire equatorial plane in adjacent layers. (1) Among the rubber-coated cord layers forming the main cross belt, a pair of left and right tires are attached to both ends of at least two layers. A belt end cushion rubber is disposed, and (2) among the cushion rubbers located on the same end side, at least two cushion rubbers are disposed so as to partially overlap each other in the tire width direction, and (3) The deviation width d in the tire width direction between the tire equatorial plane side edges of the cushion rubber disposed in an overlapping manner is 1.5% or more of the maximum cross-sectional width W of the main cross belt.
[0006]
In the tire according to the present invention, among the cushion rubbers, the outermost cushion rubber and the innermost cushion rubber disposed at the radially outermost and innermost portions are disposed so as to partially overlap in the tire width direction. The deviation width D in the tire width direction between the tire equatorial plane side edge of the outer cushion rubber and the tire equatorial plane side edge of the innermost cushion rubber is 1.5% or more of the maximum cross-sectional width W of the main crossing belt. It is preferable.
[0007]
In the tire according to the present invention, the effective belt width of the main crossing belt is preferably 20 to 75% of the tread width.
In the tire according to the present invention, it is effective that the belt end cushion rubber has a wedge-shaped cross-sectional shape, but the belt end cushion rubber may have a sheet shape as long as the thickness is effectively ensured.
[0008]
In this specification, the “main crossing belt” refers to a plurality of rubber-coated cord layers formed by embedding a plurality of substantially non-extensible metal cords in a coated rubber, and the cords of the adjacent cord layers are It means a cross belt formed by laminating so as to cross each other.
The function of the main crossing belt is to bear the tension in the circumferential direction caused by the tire filling internal pressure and to maintain the tire cross section in a desired shape. For this purpose, a plurality of substantially non-extensible metal cords are used. A plurality of rubber-coated cord layers embedded in the coated rubber are laminated so that the cords of adjacent layers intersect each other.
[0009]
The belt of the heavy-duty pneumatic radial tire according to the present invention may be composed of only the main cross belt, but if necessary, a protective belt layer for protecting the main cross belt is laminated on the outer side in the radial direction. May be. The protective belt layer is formed of at least one rubber-coated cord layer formed by embedding a plurality of substantially extensible metal cords in the coated rubber. The function of the protective belt layer is to protect the main cross belt, and therefore a rubber-coated cord layer having a width wider than that of the main cross belt is usually employed.
[0010]
In this specification,
“Substantially non-extensible metal cord” refers to a metal cord having an elongation at break (Eb) of 1 to 3%,
“Substantially extensible metal cord” refers to a metal cord having an elongation at break (Eb) of 4 to 7%,
“Maximum cross-sectional width W of the main cross belt” means the maximum cross-sectional width of the main cross belt in the cross section in the tire width direction, more specifically, the widest rubber coating of the rubber-coated cord layers forming the main cross belt Refers to the cross-sectional width of the code layer,
“Effective belt width” means the maximum width of the main cross belt where the cord direction is laminated in the opposite direction across the equator plane of the tire between adjacent cord layers, resulting in the formation of a cross belt The second widest cord layer (except when the cord of the second widest cord layer is not in the opposite direction across the tire equator) )) Corresponds to the effective belt width.
[0011]
The belt end separation failure occurs at the belt end and progresses toward the tire circumferential direction and the inside of the tire. The reason why the belt end becomes the starting point of the separation failure is that the interlaminar shear strain in the circumferential direction increases as it approaches the belt end and becomes the maximum at the belt end.
[0012]
In the pneumatic tire according to the present invention,
(1) A pair of left and right belt end cushion rubbers are disposed at both end portions of at least two layers among the layers of the rubber-coated cord layers forming the main cross belt,
(2) Among the cushion rubbers located on the same end side, at least two cushion rubbers are arranged so as to partially overlap each other in the tire width direction,
(3) Since the deviation width d in the tire width direction between the tire equatorial plane side edges of the cushion rubber disposed in an overlapping manner is 1.5% or more of the maximum cross-sectional width W of the main cross belt, This effectively suppresses the belt end separation failure occurring at the belt end from progressing toward the inside of the tire.
[0013]
When a load is applied to the tire, it usually becomes the maximum load near the equator line of the tire, so the rubber tries to move from the center side to the shoulder side, especially because the rubber movement to the shoulder side at the belt end is large, Interlaminar shear strain in the tire width direction increases. This large axial interlaminar shear strain promotes the progress of the belt end separation failure occurring at the belt end toward the inside of the tire.
[0014]
If the deviation width d in the tire width direction between the tire equatorial plane side edges of the cushion rubber located on the same end side is too small, the rubber-coated cords disposed adjacent to the radially outer side and the inner side of these cushion rubbers Since the force points where the layers push in the radial direction coincide with each other, the amount of rubber movement increases, and as a result, the interlaminar shear strain at the belt end increases and the belt end separation failure that occurs at the belt end is inside the tire. Progress towards this will be promoted.
[0015]
In addition, by compressing the belt end in the radial direction, the tire equator side of the cushion rubber is pushed up by the action of the insulator, and this distortion promotes the progress toward the inside of the tire with the separation failure, depending on the situation Even at this position, a separation failure may occur.
[0016]
In the pneumatic tire according to the present invention, as described above, the deviation width d in the tire width direction of the tire equatorial plane side edge of the cushion rubber positioned on the same end side is set to 1. of the maximum cross-sectional width W of the main cross belt. Since these cushion rubbers are arranged so as to be shifted by a large setting of 5% or more, the rubber-coated cord layers disposed adjacent to the outside and inside of the cushion rubber in the radial direction press against each other in the radial direction. There is no such thing. Therefore, the movement of the rubber at the belt end is suppressed, and the progress toward the inner side of the tire with the belt end separation failure is also suppressed. In addition, the phenomenon that the belt end is compressed in the radial direction and the tire equator side of the cushion rubber is pushed up by the action of the insulator as described above is less likely to occur.
[0017]
In the tire of the present invention, as described above, the effective belt width of the main cross belt is preferably 20 to 75% of the tread width. This is because the belt end cushion rubber is easily subjected to a large force in a tire having an effective belt width of 20 to 75% of the tread width.
[0018]

For the tires of Examples 1 to 4 and the tire of the conventional example, a comparative test for separation resistance was performed.
The test conditions were as follows: each test tire was filled with an internal pressure of 7.00 kgf / cm 2 , loaded with a load of 51,500 kgf, and ran at a speed of 15 km / h by an indoor drum tester for a certain period of time. The length of separation is measured and compared.
The test results are shown in Table 1 in index notation with the result of the conventional tire as 100. The smaller the number, the shorter the separation length, indicating better separation resistance.

[Table 1]
[0026]
From the results shown in Table 1, it can be seen that the tires of Examples 1 to 4 are superior in separation resistance as compared with the conventional tire.
