第1の受信機対を使用して、第1の通信シーケンスをアセットから受信する段階と、
第2の受信機対を使用して、第2の通信シーケンスを前記アセットから受信する段階と、
前記第1の受信機対に対応する第1の到着時間差と、前記第2の受信機対に対応する第2の到着時間差とを少なくとも使用して位置を識別する段階と、

- 前記第1の到着時間差を使用して前記位置を推定する段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記計算段階は、第1の複数のアセット位置の解を判断する段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記ネットワークが少なくとも1つの追加の受信装置を含む時、前記推定段階は、
前記追加の受信装置を使用して、第2の複数のアセット位置の解を判断する段階と、
前記第1及び第2の複数のアセット位置の解を使用して前記位置を識別する段階と、
を更に含む、ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記識別段階は、前記第1の複数解と前記第2の複数解との交差点を推定する段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記識別段階は、双曲線三辺測量を使用する段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の複数解を判断する段階は、前記アセットと前記追加の受信装置との間の距離を推定する段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記距離の推定段階は、前記通信信号の移動時間を計算する段階と前記通信信号の信号強度を推定する段階の1つを含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 各々が既知の場所に位置する第1の受信装置と第2の受信装置とを有する通信ネットワークにおけるアセットの位置を識別する方法であって、
相関関数を使用して、アセットからの通信信号の前記第1の受信装置への到着に対応する1つよりも多い第1の到着時間推定量の値を推定する段階と、
前記相関関数を使用して、前記通信信号の前記第2の受信装置への到着に対応する1つよりも多い第2の到着時間推定量の値を推定する段階と、
前記第1及び第2の到着時間推定量を使用して到着時間差を計算する段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記計算段階は、
1つの第1の到着時間推定量の値に対応する第2の到着時間推定量の値の各々に対して、前記第2の到着時間推定量の値と前記第1の到着時間推定量の値との間の差を定量化する段階と、
少なくとも2つの差が定量化された場合、前記差を平均する段階と、
を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載の方法。 - 前記平均する段階は、前記到着時間差を前記第1及び第2の到着時間推定量の値の平均に等しく設定する段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記相関関数を選択する段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項14に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも3つの受信機を有する通信ネットワークにおけるアセットの位置を識別する方法であって、
802.11通信シーケンスの受信機への到着時間を推定する段階と、
前記通信シーケンスの前記受信機の対応する方への到着時間に対応する少なくとも1つの到着時間推定値を前記受信機の各々に関して収集する段階と、
前記推定値の少なくとも2つの対の各々に対して差を計算する段階と、
前記差を使用して位置を推定する段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記位置を推定する段階は、各差に対して少なくとも1つのアセット位置解集合を形成する段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記位置を推定する段階は、
少なくとも1つの解集合判断基準を設定する段階と、
前記判断基準を満足しない解集合を破棄する段階と、
を更に含む、ことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の方法。 - 前記解集合判断基準は、前記ネットワークの幾何学的形態に基づくことを特徴とする請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記解集合判断基準は、到着時間推定値の精度の指数に基づくことを特徴とする請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記推定段階は、前記解集合を使用して、前記位置の最大発生可能性度推定量を見つける段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項19に記載の方法。
- 各到着時間推定値を前記推定値の精度指数に比例して重み付けする段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記位置を推定する段階は、前記解集合を使用して、前記位置の最小二乗法による推定値を見つける段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記通信シーケンスはIEEE(米国電気電子学会)802.11適合無線通信シーケンスであることを特徴とする請求項5又は請求項14に記載の方法。
- 通信ネットワークにおいてアセットの位置を識別するシステムであって、
第1の周波数で信号を受信するように構成され、前記アセットから第1の通信シーケンスを受信する第1の受信機対と、
第2の周波数で信号を受信するように構成され、前記アセットから第2の通信シーケンスを受信する第2の受信機対と、
を備え、
前記ネットワークは、前記第1の受信機対に対応する第1の到着時間差と、前記第2の受信機対に対応する第2の到着時間差とを使用して位置を識別するように構成された
ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 第3の周波数で信号を受信するように構成され、前記アセットから第3の通信シーケンスを受信する第3の受信機対がさらに設けられ、前記第3の受信機対に対応する第3の到着時間差も使用して位置を識別することを特徴とする請求項27に記載のシステム。
- 前記通信シーケンスはIEEE(米国電気電子学会)802.11適合無線通信シーケンスであることを特徴とする請求項28に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2の受信機対が補助受信機であり、前記第2の通信シーケンスの受信は、前記補助受信機の作動周波数を切り替えることにより行われることを特徴とする請求項28に記載のシステム。
- 通信ネットワークにおいてアセットの位置を識別するシステムであって、
既知の場所に位置する第1の受信装置と、
既知の場所に位置する第2の受信装置と
を備え、
前記通信ネットワークは、前記アセットからの信号が時間スタンプで符号化されていないとき、復号された信号についての相関関数を選択するように構成され、
前記通信ネットワークはさらに、
前記相関関数を使用して、アセットからの通信信号の前記第1の受信装置への到着に対応する1つよりも多い第1の到着時間推定量の値を推定し、
前記相関関数を使用して、前記通信信号の前記第2の受信装置への到着に対応する1つよりも多い第2の到着時間推定量の値を推定し、
前記第1及び第2の到着時間推定量を使用して第1の到着時間差を計算する
ように構成された
ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 前記相関関数は、前記通信シーケンスについての情報の関数として選択されることを特徴とする請求項31に記載のシステム。
- 前記通信ネットワークはだらに、前記第1の到着時間差を使用して前記位置の推定を行うように構成されたことを特徴とする請求項31に記載のシステム。
- 前記計算は、アセット位置についての第1の複数解を求めることからなることを特徴とする請求項33に記載のシステム。
- 少なくとも1つの追加の受信装置がさらに設けられ、該追加の受信装置を使用してアセットの位置についての第2の複数解を求め、アセット位置についての前記第1及び第2の複数解を使用して前記位置を識別することを特徴とする請求項34に記載のシステム。
- 識別は、アセット位置についての前記第1及び第2の複数解の交点を推定することからなることを特徴とする請求項35に記載のシステム。
