【0007】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a dehydration accelerator for calcium carbonate slurry. More specifically, dehydration of the calcium carbonate slurry added to reduce the water content of the calcium carbonate cake obtained by vacuum dehydration of the calcium carbonate slurry discharged from the causticization process and calcium carbonate production process in paper and pulp production. Relates to accelerators.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, slurries mainly composed of calcium carbonate discharged from paper and pulp manufacturing processes are dehydrated with a vacuum dehydrator called an Oliver filter, Young filter or pre-coated filter, and the resulting calcium carbonate cake is ignited in a kiln with high heat. By doing this, quick lime is obtained, and the calcium carbonate cake pressurized after dehydration is used for dumping such as landfill. Recently, the reuse of pigments and fillers has been studied from the viewpoint of effective use of resources.
[0003]
Similarly, the calcium carbonate slurry discharged from the calcium carbonate production process is dehydrated by the vacuum dehydrator to obtain a calcium carbonate cake, which is then baked with heat to obtain quick lime.
[0004]
However, if the water content of the calcium carbonate cake obtained in the dehydration process in the vacuum dehydrator is high, clogging of the dehydrator and detachment of the calcium carbonate cake from the surface of the dehydrator become insufficient, resulting in a decrease in dewatering capacity. To do. Further, there has been a problem that the amount of heat consumed when the produced calcium carbonate cake is ignited with a kiln is increased. Among the above-mentioned problems, as a current countermeasure against clogging of the dehydrator, a medicine or a method for temporarily removing the clogging by stopping the dehydrator and washing it is taken. For example, a dehydration accelerator (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 62-121700) containing polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl ether and polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether as active ingredients, a specific polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether and a specific poly A method for dehydrating lime mud (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-266273) or the like using oxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether as an active ingredient has been proposed. However, polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl ether has a problem with environmental hormones, and there is a problem that the dehydration effect is insufficient with these combinations. Therefore, an environmentally friendly drug that does not fall under PRTR has been desired.

[Formula 4]
R 2 O (CH 2 CH 2 O) n (CH 2 CH (CH 3 ) O) o H (II)
(Wherein R 2 is an alkyl group having 8 to 11 carbon atoms; n is an integer of 2 to 10, and o is an integer of 0 to 2) or a polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene represented by A dehydration accelerator for a calcium carbonate slurry containing an alkyl ether as an active ingredient is provided.
[0011]
The polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether of the general formula (I), which is an active ingredient of this invention, is a product obtained by adding ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to a higher alcohol having an alkyl group having 6 to 24 carbon atoms. Things can be used. The higher alcohol may be a natural alcohol such as coconut oil reducing alcohol or a synthetic alcohol. In the case of a synthetic alcohol, Ziegler alcohol or oxo alcohol can be used.
[0012]
In addition, the HLB of the polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether of the general formula (I) has a more desirable dehydration promoting effect between 6.5 and 14.0. When the HLB is lower than 6.5, a desirable dehydration promoting effect cannot be obtained. Moreover, when higher than 14.0, since foamability becomes high, it is unpreferable.

[0014]
The polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether of the general formula (II) which is an active ingredient of this invention is obtained by adding ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to a higher alcohol having an alkyl group having 8 to 11 carbon atoms. Things can be used. The higher alcohol may be a natural alcohol such as coconut oil reducing alcohol or a synthetic alcohol. In the case of a synthetic alcohol, Ziegler alcohol or oxo alcohol can be used.
[0015]
Further, the HLB of the polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether of the general formula (II) has a more desirable dehydration promoting effect between 6.5 and 14.0. The amount of the auxiliary added is usually 0 to 80% by weight, preferably 0 to 50% by weight in the whole composition.
[0021]
【Example】
The present invention will be described below with reference to test examples, but the present invention is not limited to these test examples. In the test examples, the following compounds in Tables 1 to 3 were used.
[0022]
[Table 1]
R 1 O (CH 2 CH 2 O) l (CH 2 CH (CH 3 ) O) m H
[0023]
[Table 2]
R 2 O (CH 2 CH 2 O) n (CH 2 CH (CH 3 ) O) o H
[0024]
Test Example 1 (Test for confirming dehydration effect of calcium carbonate slurry)
700 ml of calcium carbonate slurry (solid content concentration 25%) discharged from the causticizing process of a paper company was heated to 50-60 ° C. and placed in a 1 liter beaker. After adding the compound shown in Table 2 to this slurry so that it might become 80 ppm with respect to a calcium carbonate slurry, it stirred at 120 rpm for 3 minutes using the stirring blade. This slurry was subjected to suction filtration using a leaf tester (manufactured by Miyamoto Seisakusho Co., Ltd.) at a vacuum degree of 50 cmHg.
[0025]
The weight of the calcium carbonate cake produced at this time is measured (W1 g). Thereafter, the weight when dried in a drier at 105 ° C. for 6 hours and allowed to cool is measured (W 2 g). The moisture content (%) of the calcium carbonate cake is obtained by the following equation.
Moisture content of calcium carbonate cake (%) = (W1−W2) / W1 × 100
The test results are shown in Table 3.
(Test results)
[0026]
[Table 3]
[0027]
As apparent from the test results, despite the solid content concentration of the calcium carbonate slurry being as high as 25%, test no. In 1-4, it turns out that the moisture content of the calcium carbonate cake has achieved the target value (in this case, less than 33%) at an addition concentration of 80 ppm. Moreover, it is 11% or more lower than that without addition and about 3 to 7% lower than other comparative examples, indicating that a remarkable dehydration effect is obtained.
[0028]
