i1 =Z1 /Z2
i2 =Z3 /Z4 i3 =Z5 /Z6 であり、それぞれの歯車のバックラッシュとして、Z1軸でのZ1とZ2のバックラッシュをθB1、Z3軸でのZ3とZ4のバックラッシュをθB2、Z5軸でのZ5とZ6のバックラッシュをθB3で示す。これらバックラッシュをモータ軸に換算すると、
θB =θB1+θB2′+θB3′=θB1+θB2/i1 +θB3/i1 i2

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a stepping motor driving method and an image forming apparatus that perform acceleration / deceleration driving with a predetermined driving profile via a gear transmission mechanism having a dead zone and made of an elastic body.
[0002]
[Prior art and problems to be solved by the invention]
FIG. 12 is a diagram for explaining a conventional driving method of a stepping motor. Conventionally, a stepping motor is driven with a driving profile in which driving frequency (driving speed) is first started at a low frequency and then gradually increased as shown in FIG. In this way, the stepping motor has the feature that speed control and position control can be performed simply by controlling the drive frequency and the number of pulses. However, since it rotates in synchronization with the drive pulse, it is suitable for the torque and load of the motor. It is necessary to decide a proper driving frequency. For example, if a motor with a small load is driven at a slow speed relative to the motor torque, the motor vibrates. If the load is large and the driving frequency is fast, the motor cannot synchronize and step out.
[0003]
For example, as a stepping motor driving method, an acceleration / deceleration curve is obtained by driving the natural frequency of the driving system disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 2001-251897 and 11-89291, and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-150800. There is a method of using a quadratic function for the acceleration / deceleration curve disclosed in the publication. However, when a gear is used for the power transmission mechanism, the gear always has a dead zone. Therefore, vibration and noise caused by the dead zone are not obtained in the method of driving the acceleration / deceleration curve based on the natural frequency and the method using the quadratic function. When the dead zone is large, it may not synchronize with the drive signal and step out.
[0004]
As an improvement on this point, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 9-98597 proposes a method in which an excitation delay circuit is configured in the drive circuit to synchronize the synchronization timing. However, this method has problems that the circuit becomes complicated and that the dead zone condition cannot be easily dealt with.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention solves the above-described problem, and prevents generation of vibrations and noises caused by a dead zone and an amount of displacement by an elastic body, and enables driving without step-out.
[0006]
To this end, the present invention provides a stepping motor driving method in which acceleration / deceleration driving is performed with a predetermined driving profile via a gear transmission mechanism having a dead zone and made of an elastic body. The stepping motor is driven at a speed higher than the minimum speed in the acceleration region corresponding to the amount, and the stepping motor is accelerated / decelerated by a drive profile that is sequentially accelerated after switching to the minimum speed. perform driving at a high speed, sequentially have row driving acceleration and deceleration of the by the acceleration to continue driving profile stepping motor is switched to the lowest speed after the drive, corresponding to the displacement amount by the dead zone and the elastic body deceleration region last of that it has to perform drive at a higher speed than the immediately preceding driving speed to step And symptoms, step angle theta s at 1 pulse motor, when the displacement angle by the dead zone and the elastic member theta, the relationship between the pulse number n for driving the fast speed,
θ / 2 ≦ nθ s ≦ θ
The drive profile is set such that excitation switching is performed when the rotation angle of the stepping motor reaches the target angle.
[0007]
In addition, in an image forming apparatus including a stepping motor that performs acceleration / deceleration driving with a predetermined driving profile, a gear transmission mechanism having a dead zone and formed of an elastic body, and a plurality of developing units filled with toner of each color And a development rotary that forms an image on a photoconductor by changing the color by acceleration / deceleration driving by the stepping motor via the gear transmission mechanism, and acceleration / deceleration driving of the stepping motor by a predetermined driving profile Drive control means for performing at least a speed higher than a minimum speed in an acceleration region corresponding to a displacement amount due to the dead zone and the elastic body at the time of activation, and switching to the minimum speed after the drive. successively by the acceleration to continue driving profiles have line acceleration and deceleration drive of the stepping motor Te, before the deceleration range It is characterized in that to the last step corresponding to the displacement amount of the dead zone and the elastic body and to perform driving at a faster rate than the immediately preceding driving speed.

When the step angle at one pulse of the motor is θ s and the displacement angle by the dead zone and the elastic body is θ, the relationship between the number of pulses n driven at the high speed is as follows:
θ / 2 ≦ nθ s ≦ θ
The drive profile is set so as to perform excitation switching when the rotation angle of the stepping motor reaches the target angle, and the drive control means detects the unbalance amount of the remaining amount of toner and An acceleration region is obtained, and the acceleration region is driven at a speed higher than the minimum driving speed.
[0009]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. [0016]
When a rigid body without backlash or elasticity is driven by a stepping motor, the drive profile (drive speed) starts at a low frequency as shown in FIG. 12, and then gradually increases the drive frequency. It becomes. However, when driving a stepping motor via a gear transmission mechanism composed of a backlash or an elastic body, the backlash is first packed and the elastic body is deformed before the load ahead of the gear transmission mechanism. Will turn. That is, the initial load of the motor is a load that only rotates the motor itself, the next is a load that deforms the elastic body, and an actual large load is applied thereafter. Therefore, if the drive profile shown in FIG. 12 is applied as it is, the load is small and the drive frequency is low at the first pulse, but it becomes oscillating. However, when a large load is applied, the drive frequency is too high to synchronize. It will step out.
[0017]
Therefore, the present invention increases the driving frequency up to the point of eliminating the backlash and deforming the elastic body at the time of start-up, then lowering it to the slowest driving frequency, and gradually increasing the frequency from there to accelerate it. FIG. 3 shows an acceleration drive profile at the time of activation. Here, the 1-2 pulse is a drive pulse corresponding to the actual large load ahead of the gear transmission mechanism, and the 1-2 pulse is faster because the load is smaller. Driving at a frequency, a large load starts driving at a lower driving frequency, and then increases the frequency to accelerate. Thus, in the acceleration region indicated by the acceleration drive profile, there is a region where backlash and an elastic body are packed in a part thereof, and driving is performed at a speed higher than the minimum speed in this partial region. In FIG. 3, the drive frequency rises with periodicity varying due to the influence of the natural frequency of the drive system and the load.
[0018]
The starting-acceleration / deceleration-stop driving profile of the stepping motor shown in FIG. 4 is one in which the motor is driven by 300 pulses with two-phase excitation and the developing rotary is rotated 90 degrees, and about half of the driving time is startup-acceleration. The remaining half is decelerating to stopping. The first and second drive pulses at start-up start driving the motor with a drive pulse faster than the third drive pulse, and then gradually increase the drive frequency from the slowest drive pulse to about half of the drive time. The maximum speed is reached in the period of time, and then the speed is gradually reduced and stopped at the 300th pulse.
[0019]
The reason why the first and second drive pulses are faster than the third drive pulse is that the backlash and gear rigidity are reduced in two steps of the motor, and the actual load is driven in the third step. To get started. In other words, when there is a backlash, the load on the development rotary is not applied to the motor immediately after startup. At this time, the motor only needs to rotate its own load, so it can be driven quickly. Similarly, to reduce the deflection due to the rigidity of the gear, a large load is not applied, so that a fast drive is sufficient.
[0020]
After reducing the backlash and gear deflection, a large load is applied to drive the development rotary. At this time, the drive speed is reduced to match the development rotary from start to acceleration. Thereafter, the motor drive speed is also increased in accordance with the acceleration of the development rotary. The reason why the last two pulses are faster than the third pulse from the last is to stop the motor without vibrating.
[0021]
The toner in the developer is reduced by printing, but the reduction method is not uniform, so when the toner is stationary due to variations in the amount of toner, when rotating in the forward rotation direction and when rotating in the reverse direction There is. For example, if the developing unit M and the developing unit C are heavy with respect to the developing unit Y and the developing unit K, the developing unit M and the developing unit C rotate in the forward direction, and conversely, the developing unit M and the developing unit C are lighter than the developing unit Y and the developing unit K. Will rotate in the reverse direction. When the rotary rotates in the forward rotation direction due to the unbalance of the toner weight, the backlash of the tooth wheel train is maximized from the viewpoint of the motor, and when it rotates in the opposite reverse direction, there is no backlash. Become. In order to drive the rotary in these states, it must be possible to drive without step-out from the state without backlash to the state with the maximum backlash when viewed from the stepping motor.
[0022]
An explanation will be given of when the backlash is maximum and when there is no balance due to the unbalance of the remaining amount of toner. When the developing device M and the developing device C are heavy with respect to the developing device Y and the developing device K and the rotary rotates in the forward rotation direction, the backlash is maximized when viewed from the motor, and is 2.5 degrees under this condition. Further, assuming that the generated torque of the motor is 0.5 Nm, the deformation amount due to the rigidity of the gear is 1.3 degrees, so the motor rotates at a speed of 3.8 degrees in total, so that a high speed is sufficient. Since the motor is 1.8 degrees per step, this 3.8 degrees corresponds to about two steps of the motor.
[0023]
On the other hand, when the developing unit M and the developing unit C are slightly rotated in the reverse direction with respect to the developing unit Y and the developing unit K, there is no backlash when viewed from the motor. Only amount. Since this amount is about one step of the motor, in the initial driving of two steps, the load of the developing rotary starts to be applied in the remaining one step. However, although it deviates slightly from the optimum excitation switching point, it does not reach step-out and can be driven without any problem.
[0024]
FIG. 5 shows the relationship between the motor drive target angle and the motor rotation angle. When the motor is switched to the first pulse excitation from the hold state, the target angle increases to 1.8 degrees, the second pulse increases to 1.8 degrees, 3.6 degrees, and so on. When the motor is excited, it starts rotating and gradually increases its angle. Excitation is switched when the first target angle (1.8 degrees) is reached, and excitation is switched when the next target angle (3.6 degrees) is reached. The reciprocal of time t1 from the excitation switching of the first pulse to the excitation switching of the second pulse is the driving frequency, and similarly, the driving profile is determined by continuing t2, t2,. Although the stepping motor is accompanied by vibration, as can be seen from FIG. 5, by setting the excitation switching so that the excitation is switched when the target angle is reached, smooth rotation is realized without vibration.
[0025]
Next, the amount of backlash caused by backlash and the amount of elastic deformation of the gear will be described. FIG. 6 is a diagram for explaining the backlash caused by backlash in the case of the three-stage reduction gear mechanism, and FIG. 7 is a diagram for explaining the elastic deformation amount of the gear in the case of the three-stage reduction gear mechanism.
[0026]
In FIG. 6, it is assumed that the Z1 gear shaft is directly connected to a motor (not shown), and Z1-Z2, Z3-Z4, and Z5-Z6 are meshed and connected. The speed ratio of each gear is
i 1 = Z 1 / Z 2
i 2 = Z 3 / Z 4 i 3 = Z 5 / Z 6 , and the backlash of Z1 and Z2 on the Z1 axis is θ B1 as the backlash of each gear, and the back of Z3 and Z4 on the Z3 axis The rush is represented by θ B2 , and the backlash of Z5 and Z6 on the Z5 axis is represented by θ B3 . When these backlashes are converted into motor shafts,
Motor shaft conversion Z3 and Z4 backlash θ B2 ′ is θ B2 ′ = θ B2 / (Z 1 / Z 2 ) = θ B2 / i 1
Motor shaft conversion Z5 and Z6 backlash θ B3 ′ is θ B3 ′ = θ B3 / (Z 1 / Z 2 ) (Z 3 / Z 4 ) = θ B3 / i 1 i 2
The total backlash θ B at the motor is θ B = θ B1 + θ B2 '+ θ B3 ' = θ B1 + θ B2 / i 1 + θ B3 / i 1 i 2
It is represented by
[0027]
Next, the elastic deformation amount of the gear will be described. As shown in FIG. 7, a torque of T is applied to the Z1 gear to fix Z6. Z1 and Z2 are elastically deformed as θ K1 −θ K2 . The meshing tooth rigidity of each gear is
Tooth stiffness of Z1 k 1 = k 0 r 1 2 t 1
Tooth rigidity of Z2 k 2 = k 0 r 2 2 t 2
Tooth rigidity of Z3 k 3 = k 0 r 3 2 t 3
Tooth rigidity of Z4 k 4 = k 0 r 4 2 t 4
Tooth rigidity of Z5 k 5 = k 0 r 5 2 t 5
Tooth rigidity of Z6 k 6 = k 0 r 6 2 t 6
Indicated by Incidentally, theta k0 stiffness vary depending on the material, r n is the pitch circle radius, t n meshes length. Each tooth rigidity converted to motor shaft is
The displacement angle when torque T is applied to the Z1 gear is the displacement angle of Z1 θ K = T / K
Total backlash and displacement angle θ = θ B + θ K
FIG. 8 is a diagram showing a specific gear configuration example, FIG. 9 is a diagram showing a motor shaft conversion backlash when Z1 is a motor shaft and Z6 is fixed in the gear configuration shown in FIG. 8, and FIG. , Z2 to Z6 are diagrams showing the total rigidity of the motor shaft equivalent when the polyacetal resin is configured, and FIG. 11 is a diagram summarizing the motor driving situation when the backlash amount is increased.
[0028]
As a method of determining the drive profile in the present invention, an ideal condition position where backlash is equally distributed by 1/2 in the forward direction and the reverse direction is considered. According to FIGS. 8 to 10, the total backlash in terms of motor shaft is 2.5 degrees, and the deformation when applying torque of T = 0.5 Nm to the motor shaft is 1.3 degrees in terms of motor shaft. The total stiffness is 3.8 degrees. Also, the total backlash in terms of motor shaft is 2.5 degrees, 1.25 degrees on one side, and the displacement angle due to gear rigidity is 1.3 degrees in terms of motor shaft, so the total is 2.55 degrees. Yes. This is because when a standard HB stepping motor, which is usually used, is driven in two phases, it is 1.8 degrees per step. Therefore, it corresponds to about two steps of the stepping motor, and the step angle of one pulse of the motor is θ. s , where θ is the displacement angle due to the dead zone and the elastic body, and n is the number of pulses driven at a high speed,
θ / 2 ≦ nθ s ≦ θ
It has become a relationship.
[0029]
Under the above conditions, looking at the motor driving situation when the backlash amount is increased, as shown in FIG. 11, the motor can be driven up to 6 degrees without being stepped out in terms of motor shaft. Gears may have a large backlash due to manufacturing variations, assembly errors, wear during use, and the like. However, according to the driving method of the present invention, a considerable range even if the backlash increases as shown in FIG. It can be driven with.
[0030]
For reference, when driving with the drive profile shown in FIG. 12 that does not take backlash and gear rigidity into consideration, the development rotary can rotate in the reverse direction and there is no backlash. In the ideal condition in which backlash is evenly distributed in half in the forward and reverse directions and in the condition in which the backlash is maximized by rotating in the forward direction, the step-out occurs immediately after startup. It was.
[0031]
In addition, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment, A various deformation | transformation is possible. For example, in the above embodiment, two steps are set to a fast driving frequency, but the number of steps may be changed according to the type of motor, the backlash of the gear transmission mechanism, the amount of displacement by the elastic body, or 1− For the two pulses, excitation switching is performed when the motor rotation angle reaches the target angle with one-side backlash and gear stiffness displacement angle. The size may be determined and set according to the size. In the present invention, the number of steps has been described by the two-phase excitation of the motor, but the same applies to the case of microstep driving such as 1-2 phase excitation.
[0032]
【The invention's effect】
As is apparent from the above description, according to the present invention, in the image forming apparatus including a stepping motor that performs acceleration / deceleration driving with a predetermined driving profile, a gear transmission mechanism having a dead zone and configured by an elastic body. And a developing rotary that mounts a plurality of developing devices filled with toner of each color, performs acceleration / deceleration driving by the stepping motor via the gear transmission mechanism, and changes colors to form an image on the photosensitive member; Drive control means for accelerating and decelerating the stepping motor according to a predetermined drive profile, and the drive control means is faster than the minimum speed at least in an acceleration region corresponding to a displacement amount due to the dead zone and the elastic body at the time of activation. The stepping model is driven by a driving profile that drives at a speed, and after that driving, switches to the lowest speed and accelerates sequentially. There line drive acceleration and deceleration of the motor, since to carry out the drive at a higher speed than the driving speed of the immediately preceding to the last step corresponding to the displacement amount by the dead zone and the elastic body of the deceleration region, the vibration at the time of starting And noise can be prevented, the motor can be driven without stepping out, and the motor can be stopped without vibrating.
[0033]
The fast acceleration region at the time of start-up is one-half of the backlash and the number of steps to drive the amount of displacement by the elastic body, and the drive profile is such that excitation switching is performed when the rotation angle of the stepping motor reaches the target angle. The drive control means detects the unbalance amount of the remaining amount of toner, obtains an acceleration area, and drives the acceleration area at a speed faster than the minimum driving speed, thereby preventing backlash. It can be driven without step-out to the state where the maximum backlash is present, and it can cope with backlash with large variations and displacement due to an elastic body, thereby improving reliability.
[0034]
The last step corresponding to the backlash in the deceleration area and the amount of displacement by the elastic body is driven at a speed higher than the previous drive speed, and the drive control means detects the unbalance amount of the remaining amount of toner and decelerates. By obtaining the area and driving at the speed higher than the minimum driving speed for the last step corresponding to the backlash in the deceleration area and the displacement amount by the elastic body, the motor can be stopped without vibrating.
[0035]
Furthermore, according to the present invention, motor vibration is suppressed, noise reduction is possible, step-out can be prevented, and measurement of the drive system's natural frequency and drive circuit are not required, so the reliability is high. An inexpensive apparatus can be provided.
