加工対象となるワークが長いものに対応出来るように、Z軸方向(主軸台の軸方向)に長いストロークを有する上記のようなNC旋盤においては、主軸後方上部に配設した刃物台のZ軸方向のストロークも長くなる。
この場合に、例えば図5に示すように、刃物台スライドウエイ103に沿ってスライドする刃物台102と、L側主軸台101L又はR側主軸台101RとがZ軸方向にストローク上の重なりが生じるので、主軸台の後方には、そのための空間105L、105Rが必要となる。
また、切粉飛散防止の為の左サイドカバー104L、右サイドカバー104Rが存在するために、この空間部分に切粉が堆積するという問題があった。

本発明は、上記従来技術に有する技術的課題に鑑みて、Z軸方向長ストローク型NC旋盤主軸台後方に切粉が堆積するのを防止することができるカバー構造の提供を目的とする。

本発明は、2台の主軸台が左右に対向して配置され、その後方上部にZ軸方向スライド可能に刃物台が備えられたスラント型NC旋盤において、主軸台後方に凸形状箱型の多段式スライドカバーを取り付けることで、主軸台後方の空間を無くして切粉の飛散を抑え、この部分への切粉の堆積を防止したものである。

主軸台後方上部には、上下Y軸方向位置制御可能でB軸回り旋回制御可能に刃物台2が備えられていて、図示を省略したが、ベッドに配設したスライドウエイに沿ってZ軸方向(左右方向)にスライド移動自在になっている。
