【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a variable valve operating apparatus for an internal combustion engine that can vary at least a valve lift amount of an intake valve and an exhaust valve that are engine valves in accordance with an engine operating state.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As this type of conventional variable valve operating device, there is one described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-155716 filed earlier by the present applicant.
[0003]
Briefly, this variable valve operating device is applied to the intake valve side, and the shaft center is eccentric from the shaft center of the drive shaft on the outer periphery of the drive shaft rotating in synchronization with the rotation of the crankshaft. A drive cam is provided, and the rotational force of the drive cam is transmitted via a multi-joint link-like transmission means, and the cam surface slides on the upper surface of the valve lifter at the upper end of the intake valve to control the intake valve. It has a swing cam that opens against the spring force of the valve spring.
[0004]
The transmission means includes a rocker arm that is disposed above the swing cam and is swingably supported by the control shaft, an annular one end is fitted to the outer peripheral surface of the drive cam, and the other end is one end of the rocker arm. A link arm that is rotatably connected to the part via a pin, one end part is rotatably connected to the other end part of the rocker arm via a pin, and the other end part is connected to the cam nose part of the swing cam via a pin. And a link rod connected rotatably.
[0005]
The control shaft is rotationally driven by a drive mechanism such as an electric motor and a screw transmission mechanism as a speed reduction mechanism provided on the drive shaft of the electric motor. A control cam that is eccentric from the shaft center by a predetermined amount is fixed. This control cam is rotatably fitted in and held in a support hole drilled in the approximate center of the rocker arm, and the rocking fulcrum of the rocker arm is changed in accordance with the rotational position, so that the valve on the cam surface of the rocking cam The valve lift amount of the intake valve is variably controlled by changing the rolling contact position with respect to the upper surface of the lifter.
[0006]
That is, when the engine operating state is in the low rotation range, the rocker arm swinging fulcrum is achieved by rotating the control shaft in one direction and rotating the control cam in the same direction via the electric motor and the screw transmission mechanism. Move the position away from the drive shaft. As a result, the pivot point of the rocker arm and the link rod moves upward to raise the cam nose portion of the swing cam, whereby the contact position of the swing cam with respect to the upper surface of the valve lifter moves away from the lift portion. Therefore, the intake valve is controlled so that its valve lift is minimized.
[0007]
Therefore, the engine performance can be sufficiently exhibited according to the engine operating state, that is, the fuel consumption and output can be improved.
[0008]
On the other hand, when the medium rotation range is changed to the high rotation range, the control shaft is rotated in the other direction via the screw transmission mechanism by the electric motor and the control cam is rotated in the same direction. Move in a direction approaching the drive shaft. As a result, the end of the swing cam is pushed down by a link rod or the like, and the contact position of the upper surface of the valve lifter moves to the lift portion side, so that the valve lift amount of the intake valve is controlled to increase.
[0009]
Further, in the conventional variable valve device, a cylindrical rubber material is provided on the inner surface of the actuator plate on the outer periphery in order to restrict the maximum rotation (minimum, maximum lift control position) in the forward / reverse rotation direction of the control shaft. When the fixed first and second stopper members are provided and the control shaft rotates greatly in the forward and reverse directions, one of the side surfaces of the arm fixed to the end of the control shaft is the first and second stoppers. The member abuts on the member to restrict further rotation, thereby preventing excessive operation of the screw transmission mechanism.
[0010]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in general, in a valve operating device of an internal combustion engine, positive and negative rotational fluctuations in the camshaft are caused during the operation of the engine due to the operation of a cam that opens and closes an intake valve and an exhaust valve and the spring reaction force of a valve spring. It is known that torque (alternating torque) is generated, and such alternating torque is transmitted from the swing cam to the control shaft via a transmission mechanism such as a rocker arm in the above-described conventional variable valve gear. ing.
[0011]
That is, an alternating torque is also generated in the control shaft, and a positive torque for rotating the control shaft to the small lift side and a negative torque for rotating the control shaft to the large lift side are repeated. In this case, the torque of the electric motor is overcome and the target lift amount is controlled.
[0012]
When the engine is stopped, torque generation of the electric motor is eliminated, but when the alternating torque stops at the moment of positive torque, the control shaft rotates to the minimum valve lift side to maximize the arm. There is a possibility that the engine is stopped in contact with the first stopper member.
[0013]
In this case, when the engine is restarted, the rotational position of the control shaft regulated by the first stopper member is the minimum lift position, so that the combustion at the time of cranking during engine restart deteriorates, Good startability cannot be obtained, and even if it is slightly returned to the high lift side by the rubber material on the outer periphery of the first stopper member, it has not been returned until good startability is obtained.
[0014]
In particular, since the rubber material of the first stopper member is constantly exposed to the lubricating oil or the like in the screw transmission mechanism, a so-called rubber sag phenomenon occurs and the elastic reaction force is reduced. It is difficult to fully return to the high lift side.
[0015]
Thus, when the engine is stopped, the control shaft may be held at the minimum lift position or the maximum rotational position in one direction near this position. This could make it difficult to restart the engine.
[0016]
Moreover, although the first and second stopper members are provided with a rubber material on the outer periphery so as to obtain a buffering action with the arm, the rubber material has a rigid elastic force and has a short buffering stroke. Therefore, an effective buffer action cannot be obtained.
[0017]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention has been devised in view of the technical problem of the conventional variable valve gear, and the invention according to claim 1 is characterized in that the valve lift amount of the engine valve is controlled by the control shaft. rotation A variable lift mechanism variably controlled by the control shaft and the control shaft according to the engine operating state. rotation In a variable valve operating apparatus for an internal combustion engine provided with a drive mechanism that controls the maximum of one direction of the control shaft that is controlled to at least the minimum lift side via the variable lift mechanism Rotation position And a metal spring member that performs a buffering action when the control shaft is regulated by the regulation mechanism, and the control shaft moves toward the regulation mechanism when the engine is stopped. rotation The control shaft is moved to a valve lift region where the engine can be restarted by the spring reaction force of the metal spring member. rotation It is characterized by the fact that it was made to let you.
[0018]
Therefore, for example, when the engine is stopped by operating the ignition key after traveling the vehicle, the torque generation of the drive mechanism such as the electric motor is stopped, and the control shaft causes the engine valve to be turned through the variable lift mechanism by the alternating torque immediately before the stop. In one direction to control to the minimum lift side rotation There is a case. The control shaft abuts against the metal spring member and receives a spring reaction force when further rotation in the same direction is restricted by the restriction mechanism. For this reason, the control shaft is not subject to regulation by the regulation mechanism. rotation It will be pushed back in the direction, and it will be in a state of being controlled from the minimum lift to the slightly higher lift side, which can ensure good cranking of the engine from the minimum lift.
[0019]
As a result, a buffering effect on the speed reduction mechanism can be obtained with a simple structure, and a good restartability of the engine can be obtained.
[0020]
In the invention described in
[0021]
According to the present invention, when the engine is stopped, the control shaft rotates in one direction to control the engine valve to the minimum lift side via the variable lift mechanism by the alternating torque immediately before the engine is stopped. Along with this, the moving member linearly moves in one direction along the screw shaft, and before the control shaft is restricted from further rotation in the same direction by the restricting mechanism, the moving member contacts the end of the metal spring member. Contact and receive a spring reaction force. For this reason, since the moving member is pushed back in the opposite direction, the control shaft is rotated in the opposite direction without being restricted by the restriction mechanism, and is controlled from the minimum lift to the slightly higher lift side by the variable lift mechanism. It becomes a state.
[0022]
As a result, a buffering effect on the speed reduction mechanism and a good restartability of the engine can be obtained with a simple structure.
[0023]
The invention according to
[0024]
In this invention, since the expansion / contraction amount of the coil spring is large by using the coil spring, that is, the extension amount is large, the moving member is returned when the engine is stopped. Ru The amount increases. Therefore, sufficient buffering action and better restartability of the engine can be obtained.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, the valve lift amount of the engine valve is controlled by the control shaft. rotation A variable lift mechanism variably controlled by the control shaft and the control shaft according to the engine operating state. rotation In the variable valve operating apparatus for an internal combustion engine provided with a drive mechanism for controlling the control shaft, the control shaft But Minimum lift Immediately before being restricted by position A first coil spring that compressively deforms to the control shaft, and the control shaft But Maximum lift Immediately before being restricted by position A second coil spring that compressively deforms When the engine is stopped, when the control shaft rotates to the minimum lift position, the control shaft is rotated to a valve lift region where the engine can be restarted by the spring reaction force of the first coil spring. It is characterized by that.
