本発明は、複写機、ファクシミリ等の画像形成装置における用紙搬送装置に関し、詳細には用紙搬送時の騒音防止に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
近年、OA機器は小型化の要望が強く、筐体内部はデッドスペースが形成されないように部品を配置することが強いられ、用紙の搬送路を湾曲させる場合が多い。一方、用紙はある程度の腰の強さを有しており、湾曲した搬送路により曲げられても自らの腰の強さにより伸張しようとする。これにより、用紙の後端が搬送ローラから外れた瞬間に用紙の後端が跳ねて搬送路を形成するガイド板を叩き、このときに騒音が発生する問題がある。

かかる給紙時における騒音対策として第1の従来技術は、給紙カセット内の用紙を給紙ローラによりU字型に湾曲させた搬送路に送り込み、レジストローラに受け渡すようにしている。そして、給紙ローラから外れた用紙の後端が急激に落下して搬送路を叩くことがないように、給紙ローラから外れた用紙の後端を回転体で支えるようにしている(特許文献1)。

また、第2の従来技術は、給紙カセットから給紙ローラにより給紙された用紙を湾曲したガイド部材によりレジストローラに向けて湾曲させて案内する用紙搬送装置であり、ガイド部材に給紙方向の上流側に向かうに従い下方に傾斜する平面案内面を形成し、この広い平面案内面に給紙カセットから外れた用紙の後端を衝突させ、このときに空気によるクッション作用を得て騒音の発生を防止しようとするものである(特許文献2)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、上述した第1の従来技術は、用紙の後端を支える回転体の外径をある程度以上に大きくしないと効果が期待できず、しかも回転体の外径を大きくすることは部品配置のスペースの観点から限りがあった。

また、第2の従来技術は、用紙の後端を支える平面案内面の面積をある程度以上に広くしなければ効果が期待できないので、小型化の要求に反するという問題点があった。

第3の従来技術で示された弾性薄板は、搬送ローラから外れた用紙の後端が跳ねることによる騒音の発生を防止する効果は期待できない。

第4の従来技術は、弾性部材での騒音は吸収できるが、弾性部材と湾曲ガイド板の接着部近傍では加工上段差を全く無くすことは困難であり、段差を無くす場合には、樹脂部品にて構成した湾曲ガイド板の接着部を鋭角状にしなければならず、部品搬送時又は組付時に欠損する可能性があった。また、組付時に鋭利な刃物形状をしているためかなり危険である。また板金のような金属にて構成する場合においても板金板厚もしくは先端のR部が必ず必要であり、弾性部材と湾曲ガイド板の接着部の段差が必ず発生してしまう。そして接着部の段差にて用紙の跳ね上がり音が発生してしまい完全とはいえない。

請求項1に記載の発明は、搬送される用紙を案内する湾曲した搬送路と、搬送路内に用紙を挟むように略平行に設けられた第1用紙ガイド板と、用紙の搬送方向の変更位置に設けられた第2用紙ガイド板と、第1用紙ガイド板に搬送方向後端が固定され且つ搬送方向先端が搬送路内に位置し、第2用紙ガイド板に接触している第1弾性部材と、第2用紙ガイド板に搬送方向後端が固定され且つ搬送方向先端が搬送路内に位置する第2弾性部材とを備えた用紙搬送装置であって、第1,第2用紙ガイド板の搬送方向先端は、その搬送路幅方向の中央部が両端部よりも搬送方向に対して凹んでいることを特徴とする。
