Claims (11)
- 記録された指紋(その不規則性によって固有性を有する識別要素を以下指紋という)を有する対象物の真偽を識別するための装置であって、前記対象物は磁気媒体の部分を有し、前記磁気媒体は磁性を有する微細粒子を有しており、該磁性を有する微細粒子のそれぞれは、その寸法、形状が異なると共に、該微細粒子のそれぞれの配列が磁気媒体において不規則性を有して散布されている構造を持ち(以下これを磁気媒体の微細構造という)、前記指紋は、前記磁気媒体の一部分の微細構造に由来する残留雑音から得られ、前記残留雑音は前記磁気媒体の一部分が磁気ヘッドを第1の速度で動かされるときに前もって決定され、ディジタル信号として記録されており、識別するための装置は、
前記記録された指紋であるディジタル信号を読み出すための手段と、
前記読み出された指紋を前記予め決定されている残留雑音の値として変換する手段と、
前記磁気媒体の前記一部分が磁気ヘッドを第2の速度で通過するときの、前記磁気媒体の微細構造に由来する残留雑音を磁気媒体の前記一部分から直接読み取って決定する手段と、
前記変換された、予め決定されている残留雑音の値と前記直接読み取って決定された残留雑音とを比較し、合致するかどうかを決め、それによって対象物の真偽を判断するための比較する手段と、からなる装置であり、
前記比較する手段は、前記第1の速度と第2の速度との差異により生じる残留雑音の違いを、ディジタル化のときのサンプリング数により補正する手段を有することを特徴とする対象物の真偽を識別するための装置であって、
前記記録された指紋は、読み取られた前記残留雑音を代表する値であるアナログ信号を多数サンプリングした第1のサンプリング値からなり、前記多数の第1のサンプリング値が予め決定された残留雑音の値であり、前記多数の第1のサンプリングは第1のサンプリング間隔を有し、
前記読み出すための手段は、前記記録された指紋、すなわち第1のサンプリング値を読み出すための手段であり、
変換する手段は、前記読み出された指紋、すなわち第1のサンプリング値を前記予め決定されている残留雑音の値として変換する手段であり、
前記直接指紋を読み取って決定する手段は、
(1)前記磁気媒体の部分から直接残留雑音を検知するための手段と、前記手段は磁気媒体の部分が読み取り用磁気ヘッドを通過するときの第2の通過速度を決定する手段を含み、前記速度により、直接検知される残留雑音を表示するアナログ信号を生成するものであり、
(2)前記直接読み取る残留磁気の代表値である第2の多数のサンプリングを行うため、磁気媒体の部分から生成したアナログ信号から、規定されたサンプリング速度でサンプリングするための手段とからなり、
さらに、前記サンプリング数により補正する手段は、
(1)前記磁気媒体の部分が読み取り用磁気ヘッドを通過するときの第2の通過速度を測定する手段と、
(2)第2のサンプリング間隔が、実質的に、第1のサンプリング間隔と同じとなるように、前記測定された第2の速度に応じてサンプリング周期(単位時間当たりの回数)を規定するための手段と
からなる装置。 - 請求項1に記載された装置において、第2の通過速度を測定する手段が、前記対象物が少なくとも固定された距離だけ離れた2つの基準となるマークを有しており、2つの基準となるマークが前記読み取り用磁気ヘッドを通過するときの速度を前記第2の速度として測定する手段である装置。
- 記録された磁気媒体の記録部分は、多数の磁気方向が交互に変化する磁気が縞状に記録されており前記縞状の部分の磁気の極大部すなわち磁気の遷移部について、隣り合った磁気の遷移部を、前記2つの基準となるマークとして使用した請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記磁気媒体の微細構造は磁気媒体内の永久的な粒子の不規則配列からなり、粒子の寸法が数百〜数千オングストロームのオーダーである請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 請求項1〜2、または4のいずれか1項に記載の装置において、
前記指紋が磁気媒体の微細構造に由来する残留雑音から予め決定された残留雑音からなり、前記予め決定された残留雑音は前記磁気媒体の非記録部分から決定された雑音であり、前記磁気媒体の非記録部分はその上に、データを磁気的に記憶されていない磁気媒体の一部であり、前記決定する手段が、前記磁気媒体の部分が前記第2の速度で読み出し用磁気ヘッドの部分を通過するときの非記録部分から直接残留雑音を決定するための手段を含むことを特徴とする装置。 - 記録された指紋(その不規則性によって固有性を有する識別要素を以下指紋という)を有する対象物の真偽を識別するための方法であって、前記対象物は磁気媒体の部分を有し、前記磁気媒体は磁性を有する微細粒子を有しており、該磁性を有する微細粒子のそれぞれは、その寸法、形状が異なると共に、該微細粒子のそれぞれの配列が磁気媒体において不規則性を有して散布されている構造を持ち(以下これを磁気媒体の微細構造という)、前記指紋は、前記磁気媒体の一部分の微細構造に由来する残留雑音から得られ、前記残留雑音は前記磁気媒体の一部分が磁気ヘッドを第1の速度で動かされるときに前もって決定され、ディジタル信号として記録されており、識別するための前記方法は、
前記記録された指紋であるディジタル信号を読み出すための工程と、
前記読み出された指紋を前記予め決定されている残留雑音の値として変換する工程と、
前記磁気媒体の前記一部分が磁気ヘッドを第2の速度で通過するときの、前記磁気媒体の微細構造に由来する残留雑音を磁気媒体の前記一部分から直接読み取って決定する工程と、
前記変換された、予め決定されている残留雑音の値と前記直接読み取って決定された残留雑音とを比較し、合致するかどうかを決め、それによって対象物の真偽を判断するための比較する工程と、からなる方法であり、
前記比較する工程は、前記第1の速度と第2の速度との差異により生じる残留雑音の違いを、ディジタル化のときのサンプリング数により補正する工程を有することを特徴とする対象物の真偽を識別するための方法であって、
前記記録された指紋は、読み取られた前記残留雑音を代表する値であるアナログ信号を多数サンプリングした第1のサンプリング値からなり、前記多数の第1のサンプリング値は予め決められた残留雑音の値であり、前記多数の第1のサンプリングは第1のサンプリング間隔を有し、
前記読み出すための工程は、前記記録された指紋、すなわち第1のサンプリング値を読み出すための工程であり、
変換する工程は、前記読み出された指紋、すなわち第1のサンプリング値を前記予め決定されている残留雑音の値として変換する工程であり、
前記直接指紋を読み取って決定する工程は、
(1)前記磁気媒体の部分から直接残留雑音を検知するための工程と、前記手段は磁気媒体の部分が読み取り用磁気ヘッドを通過するときの第2の通過速度を決定する工程を含み、前記速度により、直接検知される残留雑音を表示するアナログ信号を生成するものであり、
(2)前記直接読み取る残留磁気の代表値である第2の多数のサンプリングを行うため、磁気媒体の部分から、生成したアナログ信号から規定されたサンプリング速度でサンプリングするための工程とからなり、
さらに、サンプリング数による補正する工程は、
(1)前記磁気媒体の部分が読み取り用磁気ヘッドを通過するときの第2の通過速度を測定する工程と、
(2)第2のサンプリング間隔が、実質的に、第1のサンプリング間隔と同じとなるように、前記測定された第2の速度に応じてサンプリング周期(単位時間当たりの回数)を規定するための工程と
からなる方法。 - 請求項6に記載された方法において、第2の通過速度を測定する工程が、前記対象物が少なくとも固定された距離だけ離れた2つの基準となるマークを有しており、2つの基準となるマークが前記読み取り用磁気ヘッドを通過するときの速度を前記第2の速度として測定する工程とする方法。
- 記録された磁気媒体の記録部分には多数の磁気方向が交互に変化する磁気が縞状に記録されており、前記縞状の部分の磁気の極大部すなわち磁気の遷移部について、隣り合った磁気の遷移部を、前記2つの基準となるマークとして使用した請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記対象物がその対象物に前記指紋を持ち、その対象物から直接記録された指紋を読み出す工程を有する請求項6〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記磁気媒体の微細構造は磁気媒体内の永久的な粒子の不規則配列からなり、粒子の寸法が数百〜数千オングストロームのオーダーである請求項6〜9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 請求項6〜7、または9〜10のいずれか1項に記載の方法において、前記指紋が磁気媒体の微細構造に由来する残留雑音から予め決定された残留雑音からなり、前記予め決定された残留雑音は前記磁気媒体の非記録部分から決定された雑音であり、前記磁気媒体の非記録部分はその上にデータを磁気的に記憶されていない磁気媒体の一部であり、前記決定する工程が、前記磁気媒体の部分が前記第2の速度で読み出し用磁気ヘッドの部分を通過するときの非記録部分から直接残留雑音を決定するための工程を含むことを特徴とする方法。
