【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、特にセラミック基板を形成するためのセラミック・グリーンシート(以下、単にグリーンシートという)に穴明けをするために使用されるパンチ装置の支持部材に関する。

【従来の技術】
図2は、特願平10−15720号において本願出願人が提案したパンチ装置の要部断面図である。図で、Aは支持部材であり、基体部1と表面層10とで構成されている。基体部1は材質が例えばポリプロピレンであり、上板部1aと梁部1bおよび下板部1cを一体に射出成型あるいは押出し成型したシートである。図示の場合、上板部1a、梁部1bおよび下板部1cはそれぞれ厚さが0.5mmであり、梁部1bのピッチは5mmである。表面層10は材質が例えばエポキシ樹脂であり、上板部1aの表面に0.1〜0.3mmの厚さでコーティングされ、基体部1と一体である。2はパンチで、パンチホルダ3に設けられた穴4内を上下方向に摺動自在である。5はグリーンシートである。11は支持部材Aを支持するテーブルである。

次に、従来の穴明け手順を説明する。先ず、グリーンシート5を載置しない状態で、図示しない駆動装置によりパンチ2の先端が上板部1aを貫通するまでパンチ2を下降させ、表面層10と上板部1aにパンチ2と同一径の穴6を形成する。その後、グリーンシート5を所定の位置に位置決めし、図示しない駆動装置により先端が穴6を貫通するまでパンチ2を下降させ、グリーンシート5に穴を明ける。グリーンシート5の抜き滓は、上板部1a、梁部1bおよび下板部1cで形成される空間1dに落下し、図示を省略する吸引装置によって外部に排出される。

エポキシ樹脂はポリプロピレンに比べて曲げ剛性および硬度が高いから、口元がほとんど変形せず、ダイスとしての寿命をポリプロピレンだけで構成した支持部材に比べて2倍以上にすることができた。そして、いわゆる切刃となる表面の1層だけを曲げ剛性および硬度が高い材料とするから、例えば成形が困難なエポキシ樹脂だけで構成するよりも製作が容易で、安価に形成することができた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところで、基体部1の材質をポリプロピレンとして押出し成型すると、図3に示すように、上板部1aと梁部1bとの接続部および下板部1cと梁部1bとの接続部の外面側に凹部12uと凹部12bが発生することがある。そして、基体部1の寸法が図2に示すものである場合、凹部12uと凹部12bの高さはそれぞれ0.15mm程度である。凹部12uは、表面層10をコーティングすることにより埋められるが、従来、凹部12bは特に処理をされず、そのまま残されていた。

図4は、穴明け加工時における支持部材Aの変形を摸式的に示す図である。凹部12bが存在する状態でパンチ2による抜き荷重Pが支持部材Aに加わると、同図に点線で示すように、下板部1c側がδ1だけ下方向に変形し、この変形に伴って表面層10側もδ2だけ下方向に変形する。この結果、グリーンシート5は下側が上側よりも伸びた状態で加工され、グリーンシート5を平らにすると、形成された穴の直径が均一にならなかった。また、支持部材Aは、δ1あるいはδ2の変形を繰り返すことにより、寿命が短くなった。また、真空吸着により支持部材Aをテーブル11に固定する場合、凹部12bから空気が入るため、支持部材Aをテーブル11に固定する力が弱くなった。

本発明の目的は、上記した課題を解決し、加工した穴の品質に優れ、ダイスとしての寿命を長くすることができるパンチ装置の支持部材を提供するにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記した課題は、パンチと支持部材を所定の間隔を隔てて水平方向に位置決めし、前記パンチにより穴を明けた前記支持部材をダイスとしてワークに穴明けをするパンチ装置の支持部材において、前記支持部材を上板部と下板部を梁部で接続して内部に空間を設けた構造にすると共に、前記上板部と前記下板部それぞれに材質が異なる複数の層を厚さ方向に重ね、かつ、前記上板部と前記下板部のそれぞれの最外層の外面側を平坦に形成し、前記上板部と前記下板部をそれぞれダイスとして使用可能にしたことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1は本発明の実施の形態を示すパンチ装置の要部断面図であり、図2、3と同じものは同一の符号を付して説明を省略する。図で、Bは支持部材であり、基体部1と表面層10とおよび裏面層20とで構成されている。基体部1は材質が例えばポリプロピレンであり、上板部1a、梁部1b、下板部1cを一体に押出し成型したシートである。表面層10および裏面層20の材質はエポキシ樹脂であり、上板部1aおよび下板部1cの表面に0.1〜0.3mmの厚さにコーティングされ、基体部1と一体である。なお、加工手順は従来と同じであるから、説明を省略する。

次に、本実施の形態と従来技術との相違点について説明する。
基体部1に従来と同様の凹部12u、凹部12bが形成されても、表面層10および裏面層20を形成することにより、凹部12u、凹部12bは実質的になくなり、しかも支持部材Bの表面および裏面は平坦になる。この結果、穴明け加工時、表面層10および裏面層20は、ほとんど撓まない。したがって、穴明け加工時、グリーンシート5が変形することはなく、形成した穴の直径は均一になる。さらに、表面が平坦であるから、真空吸着により固定する場合も、テーブル11に確実に固定できる。また、上下を入れ替えて使うようにすれば、ランニングコストをさらに低減することができる。

なお、上記では、エポキシ樹脂をポリプロピレンの表面にコーティングしたが、エポキシ樹脂のシートを接着により貼り付けたり、溶着、圧着、ねじ止め等の他の手段を用いても良い。また、エポキシ樹脂の代わりに、チタン、銅、ステンレス等の金属を、接着、めっき、吹き付け等により積層しても良く、この場合の板厚は0.05mmで十分である。また、積層する数は2層に限らず、数種類の層を重ねても良い。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、本発明によれば、パンチと支持部材を所定の間隔を隔てて水平方向に位置決めし、前記パンチにより穴を明けた前記支持部材をダイスとしてワークに穴明けをするパンチ装置の支持部材において、前記支持部材を上板部と下板部を梁部で接続して内部に空間を設けた構造にすると共に、前記上板部と前記下板部を材質が異なる複数の層を厚さ方向に重ねて形成するから、加工した穴の品質に優れ、ダイスとしての寿命を長くすることができる。
