BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a capacity calculation circuit for a backup capacitor. The capacity calculation circuit of the backup capacitor according to the present invention is an airbag system configured so that power can be reliably supplied from the backup capacitor even when a problem occurs in power supply from the battery power source to the ignition circuit, particularly in the event of a vehicle collision. Therefore, it can be suitably used when determining the capacity loss of the backup capacitor.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In an airbag system, when a collision state of a vehicle is detected, an ignition current is supplied from an in-vehicle battery or a backup capacitor to an ignition device of an ignition circuit so that the airbag is deployed. In addition, a booster circuit including a DC-DC converter circuit is incorporated in order to ensure the minimum operating voltage of the drive circuit even if the battery wiring is disconnected in the event of a vehicle collision.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides a capacity calculation circuit for a backup capacitor capable of quickly calculating the capacity of the backup capacitor even when the DC-DC converter is downsized. This is a technical problem to be solved.
[0016]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A capacity calculation circuit for a backup capacitor according to the present invention that solves the above problems includes a coil and a coil switching element for on / off control of power supply to the coil, and is supplied from a battery power supply via a first electrical path. A DC-DC converter that boosts and outputs an input voltage, a backup capacitor to which an output voltage of the DC-DC converter circuit is supplied via a second electric path, an input voltage of the DC-DC converter, and the backup capacitor Voltage detecting means for detecting the capacitor voltage of each of them, arithmetic processing means for calculating the capacity of the backup capacitor based on the detection voltage of the voltage detecting means, and a bypass connecting the first electric path and the second electric path ON / OFF the electric path, the resistance provided in the bypass electric path, and the power supply to the resistance A resistance charging circuit for controlling the resistance of the backup capacitor, and controlling on / off of the coil switching element and the resistance switching element by a control signal, and the voltage detecting means. And a control unit for controlling the arithmetic processing means, and the control unit turns off the coil switching element and turns on the resistance switching element at an initial stage after the battery power is turned on. While the control signal for resistance charging is output, and the control signal is output and the current from the battery power supply is supplied to the backup capacitor via the bypass electrical path, the detection of the voltage detection means The capacity of the backup capacitor is calculated by the arithmetic processing means based on the voltage. That is configured to calculate the is characterized in.
[0017]
In this backup capacitor capacity calculation circuit, in an initial stage after the battery power is turned on, the control unit outputs a control signal for resistance charging that turns off the coil switching element and turns on the resistance switching element. . Therefore, in this initial stage, the DC-DC converter is stopped, while the current from the battery power supply is supplied to the backup capacitor via the bypass electrical path. Since this bypass electric path is provided with a resistor, the backup capacitor is charged by resistance charging. At this time, since it can be charged by a battery power source having a large current capacity, the backup capacitor can be quickly charged regardless of the capability of the DC-DC converter.
[0018]
Therefore, at the initial stage after the battery power is turned on, the control signal is output and the current from the battery power supply is supplied to the backup capacitor via the bypass electric path. If the capacity of the backup capacitor is calculated by the arithmetic processing unit based on the above, it is possible to quickly calculate the capacity of the backup capacitor. Therefore, according to the capacity calculation circuit of the backup capacitor of the present invention, the capacity of the backup capacitor can be quickly calculated even when the DC-DC converter is downsized.
[0019]
The capacity calculation by the arithmetic processing means is performed by detecting the detection voltage of the voltage detection means, that is, the DC-DC converter input voltage (battery power supply voltage (IG voltage: V IG ) and backup capacitor voltage (V C ) (Charge curve).
[0020]
The reason for calculating the capacity based on the IG voltage in this way is advantageous in that the time until the capacity calculation determination is shortened. Further, since the capacity calculation is performed based on the IG voltage, the DC-DC converter boosting that causes voltage superposition is stopped when the capacity is calculated.
[0021]
Here, when the battery power is turned on, the charge remains in the backup capacitor. When the capacitor voltage (V C ) is equal to or higher than the input voltage (IG voltage: V IG ), the resistance switching element of the resistance charging circuit is turned on. Since the high-voltage backup capacitor is discharged, there is a risk of causing an erroneous calculation of capacity calculation or destroying the switching element for resistance.
[0022]
Therefore, in order to prevent erroneous calculation and circuit destruction due to reverse discharge from the backup capacitor, it is preferable to include a resistance charge switching condition of V IG > V C as a condition for switching control to resistance charging.
[0023]
That is, in a preferred aspect, the control unit is configured not to output the control signal for resistance charging when the capacitor voltage (V C ) is equal to or higher than the input voltage (IG voltage: V IG ).
[0024]
The capacitor voltage and input voltage may be monitored with a comparator or the like.
