以上のような、従来の入浴用手すりでは次のような問題がある。第1に、入浴用手すりは、特に、介助を要する人が使用するものであり、車椅子等に座った状態から、極力起立することなく浴槽内に入れるように支持できることが好ましい。ところが、図6(a)の構造では、椅子に座った状態で、把持部20aを手で掴むと、足を浴槽内に入れようとしてもその把持部20aに当たり易くなる。図6(b)の構造では、把持部材27を浴槽の入浴側縁部まで達する長さし、その突出先端側を手で掴むようにすると、安定性に欠け、恐怖感を与え易い。
