従来、数種類の血液チャンバーがあり生理食塩水と血液を分離させるような構造のチャンバーも試みられている。だが、空気が入ってしまうと、せっかく分離した生理食塩水と血液が混ざり合ってしまうなどの問題点があった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
この発明は、生理食塩水と血液が混ざり合ってしまうチャンバーの問題点を解消し、体外循環中の血液が生理食塩水と分離した状態を保つことを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、図面について説明すれば、
(ア)下部チャンバー(1)の上に下部上部フィルター(2)を設け、その上部に中部チャンバー(3)を設ける。
(イ)中部チャンバー(3)の上に上部にフィルター(4)を設け、その上に上部チャンバー(5)を設ける。
(ウ)フィルターの形は空気および液体を通過するものであればよい。

【作用】
この発明のチャンバーは、チャンバーの上に上部フィルターを設けることにより、上部フィルターより上のチャンバーに充填された生理食塩水は、循環血液に攪拌されず空気を下部のチャンバーから上部チャンバーまで浮上させることができ分離状態を保つことができる。

【実施】
実際に図1と同じ血液分離チャンバーを作り生理食塩水を上部チャンバーまで充填させた後、血液ポンプを用いて血液を200ml/minで循環させた結果、下部のチャンバー(1)の上に下部上部にフィルター(2)を設けることにより、血液流入口(6)より空気が流入してきた場合、下部のチャンバー(1)で生理食塩水と分離していた血液は空気が流入したことにより攪拌されてしまうが、空気は下部上部フィルター(2)で一端止まり、徐々に中部チャンバー(3)へ浮上していき、血液及び空気が中部チャンバー(3)へ浮上しても中部上部フィルター(4)があるために空気はまた中部上部フィルター(4)で一端止まり、空気は徐々に上部チャンバー(5)に浮上していくため、生理食塩水が充填されている上部チャンバー(5)にはほとんど血液が浮上せず、攪拌にはほとんど影響が無く空気が浮上するため血液の分離状態を5時間保つことができた。

【発明の効果】
血液チャンバー内の血液凝固のほとんどは、チャンバー内の空気と循環血液が直接接触するためですが、以上の実験結果より血液流入口より上部にフィルターを設けることによりチャンバー内の空気は緩やかに上部チャンバーまで浮上し、上部チャンバーはほとんど血液とは接触しないで分離状態を保つため、血液凝固を未然に防ぐことができる。また血液凝固がしにくければ、体外循環に必要な抗凝固剤の使用量も軽減でき、治療上有効である。
