クライオスタット11内は1気圧、77K(1気圧での液体窒素の沸点)に保たれている。
【0034】
【0066】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a superconducting fault current limiter that instantaneously suppresses an excessive current such as a short circuit current flowing in an electric power system by utilizing a superconducting / normal conducting transition of a superconductor.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Some of the transmission lines and distribution lines used for power transportation are buried in the ground, but most of them are bridged over steel towers and utility poles and placed in the air. For this reason, accidents such as lightning or falling trees often cause electrical wires to come into contact with the ground or between wires. When such an accident occurs, a very large accident current flows through the electric wire, which adversely affects the power equipment such as a transformer and a cable connected to the electric power system, such as a temperature rise.
[0003]
At present, a circuit breaker is provided to protect the electric power system from such an accident current, and a system for interrupting the line where the accident occurred several to several tens of cycles after the occurrence of the accident has been constructed.
[0004]
Recently, however, accident currents have gradually increased due to grid coordination being promoted for the efficient operation of electric power and the increase in distributed power generation systems due to the effects of power liberalization. However, it is beginning to be concerned that the rated capacity of the circuit breaker will be exceeded if this is the case.
[0005]
Therefore, in order to suppress such an increase in the accident current, there is almost no impedance during normal energization, a large impedance is generated only when the accident current etc. flows, and a current limiting current that can suppress the accident current at high speed. Development of the vessel is strongly desired. In particular, a superconducting fault current limiter that uses an overcurrent suppression element that uses a large resistance change when the superconductor changes from the superconducting state to the normal conducting state does not require a control device to start current limiting operation. In addition, it is a highly reliable device due to its simple configuration of being connected in series to the power system and is expected to be realized.
[0006]
However, since the temperature at which a so-called metallic superconductor is in a superconducting state is as low as about 10 K, the cooling cost for operating the superconducting current limiting element is high when using this, and the price is economically reasonable. It was difficult to make a current limiter. Recently, research into current limiting devices using oxide superconductors, which have a superconducting transition temperature higher than that of metal-based superconductors and are in a superconducting state even at liquid nitrogen temperatures that can significantly reduce cooling costs, has been promoted.
[0007]
In the superconducting fault current limiter, in order to cool the overcurrent suppressing part including the superconductor, it has been studied to immerse the overcurrent suppressing part in a low-temperature liquid such as liquid nitrogen (for example, see Patent Document 1). However, when the overcurrent suppressing unit is directly cooled with the low temperature liquid in this way, there arises a problem of how to process the gas generated by heating the low temperature liquid during the current limiting operation.
[0008]
As an example, consider a situation where a single-phase current limiting element of 6.6 kV / 2 kA corresponding to a power distribution system is cooled in liquid nitrogen, and consider how much gas is generated during operation. Now, it is assumed that a short circuit accident occurs, an estimated fault current of about 20 kA flows, and the current limiter operates to suppress the current to 4 kA. Then, the Joule heat generated in the overcurrent suppressing portion can be roughly expressed as (distribution system voltage) × 4 kA × (accident duration). At this time, if the typical interruption time of the power distribution system is 0.3 seconds, the amount of heat generated in the overcurrent suppressing unit can be estimated to be about 6600 × 4000 × 0.3 = 7.9 MJ. Here, for liquid nitrogen, the latent heat of vaporization: 200 kJ / kg to 160 MJ / m Three The gas / liquid density ratio is 175.3 (at 77K). At this time, if the amount of heat is transmitted to the liquid nitrogen during the current limiting operation, the consumed liquid nitrogen is 7.9 / 160 = 0.049 m. Three The generated nitrogen gas is 8.7m Three Can be estimated.
[0009]
Here, the volume of the element portion necessary for constituting a 6.6 kV / 2 kA class current limiter is 0.05 m. Three The following is assumed (see Non-Patent Document 1). Therefore, the volume necessary for mounting the element portion is 0.1 m even considering electric insulation from the surroundings. Three The degree is sufficient.
[0010]
However, if the gas generated when the current limiter performs a current limiting operation is confined inside the current limiter, even if it is confined at 2 atm, the volume required for the buffer is about 8.7 m. Three It becomes. It can be seen that the size of the current limiter is very large due to the buffer volume required to confine the gas thus generated.
[0011]
On the other hand, when the generated gas is released into the atmosphere, a large amount of gas is generated as estimated above. For example, if there is a person near the gas outlet, there is a risk of suffocation. Dangerous and unrealistic.
[0012]
If an accident occurs in the power system, the accident line is interrupted and then power is turned on again. For this reason, the current limiter must be in a state of low impedance within the time when re-energization is scheduled. The time until re-energization is appropriately set depending on the power system using the current limiter, but there is also a power system of less than 1 second at an early time. However, it is difficult to return a superconductor whose temperature has been increased once operating in such a short time to a superconducting state. In addition, when a current limiting element is installed at the grid connection point between power grids, even if the circuit breaker for accident removal is opened, current continues to flow at the grid link point to supply power to the healthy line. Once the suppressor is in the normal conduction state, it will continue to generate heat thereafter, making it difficult to reenter the superconducting state.
[0013]
As can be understood from the above description, it is necessary to take some measures to enable high-speed re-energization after the current-limiting operation in the superconducting fault current limiter. For example, it is conceivable to connect the both ends of the overcurrent suppressing unit with a low resistance bypass circuit after the current limiting operation to reduce the impedance of the current limiting device viewed from the power system. However, although rarely, the accident has not been removed at the time of re-energization, and a large accident current may flow again as soon as re-energization is started. In such a case, it is necessary to perform current-limiting operation again. There is. However, if the power system is connected by a bypass circuit, the current limiting operation cannot be performed again, so this method cannot be employed.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An object of the present invention is to provide a compact superconducting fault current limiter that can suppress the generation of a large amount of gas during a current limiting operation.
[0017]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A superconducting fault current limiter according to an aspect of the present invention is disposed in the cryostat in a state of being connected to a cryostat and a power system, and suppresses energization of a large current using a superconducting / normal conducting transition of the superconductor. An overcurrent suppressor that performs current limiting operation; A lid-like partition plate provided in the cryostat, in which the overcurrent suppressing portion is disposed, and having a lower opening; It is housed in the cryostat and is cooled by immersing the overcurrent suppressing portion during normal energization. Liquid nitrogen When, A cold head that cools the inside of the lid-shaped partition plate, and at the time of normal conduction transition of the overcurrent suppression unit, the liquid nitrogen is heated from the partition plate by the pressure of the gas generated by heating the liquid nitrogen. To prevent the liquid nitrogen from coming into contact with the overcurrent suppression unit It is characterized by that.
[0019]
The superconducting fault current limiter according to the present invention preferably includes a plurality of overcurrent suppression units and a switching mechanism for switching the plurality of overcurrent suppression units to connect to the power system.
[0020]
The superconducting fault current limiter according to the present invention further includes a current detection circuit that detects a current flowing through the superconducting current limiter, and a voltage detection circuit that detects a voltage generated by the superconducting current limiter. After the voltage generated by the superconducting fault current limiter reaches or exceeds the set voltage value, when the current flowing through the superconducting current limiter falls below the set current value, the overcurrent suppressing unit and the superconducting state that performed the current limiting operation It is preferable that the overcurrent suppressing unit in the switch is switched. In this case, it is preferable that the switching mechanism switches the overcurrent suppressing unit without interrupting the power system inside the superconducting fault current limiter.
[0021]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In the superconducting fault current limiter according to the embodiment of the present invention, when the overcurrent suppression unit made of a superconductor generates resistance due to overcurrent, a large amount of Joule heat is generated, and the temperature of the current limiter rises due to this heat generation. . When a Bi-based sheath wire or the like is used as the superconductor, the temperature of the wire itself first increases. When a superconducting thin film such as YBCO formed on a sapphire substrate is used as the superconductor, first the temperature of the superconducting thin film and the substrate rises. Next, the heat of the overcurrent suppressing unit is transferred to the low temperature liquid such as liquid nitrogen through the solid-liquid contact surface. As a result, the low temperature liquid is vaporized and the overcurrent suppressing unit is cooled.
[0022]
From the experimental results so far, it is known that a typical time scale in which the amount of heat generated in the overcurrent suppressing unit during current limiting operation is transferred to liquid nitrogen is about 10 to 30 seconds. Joule heat generated by the superconducting fault current limiter performing a current limiting operation (the overcurrent suppression unit has transitioned to normal conduction) is consumed as the vaporization heat of the low temperature liquid. Therefore, by providing means for preventing the low temperature liquid from coming into contact with the overcurrent suppressing portion in a time earlier than the above time scale, it is possible to suppress the gas from continuing to be generated. That is, the superconducting fault current limiter according to the embodiment of the present invention does not require a large buffer space for confining the gas generated during the current limiting operation, and can be made compact.
[0023]
In one embodiment of the present invention, a simple configuration is provided in which a lid-like partition plate having a lower opening is provided in a cryostat, and the overcurrent suppression unit is installed in the partition plate while being immersed in a low-temperature liquid during normal energization. Due to the current limiting operation (at the time of normal current transition of the overcurrent suppression unit), the cryogenic liquid is removed from the partition plate by the pressure of the gas generated by heating the low temperature liquid, and the low temperature liquid contacts the overcurrent suppression unit You can avoid it.
[0024]
In another embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of overcurrent suppression units and a switching mechanism for switching the plurality of overcurrent suppression units to connect to the power system are provided, so that the high-speed operation can be resumed after the current limiting operation. It becomes possible to energize. However, the value of the fault current suppressed by the current limiter is generally larger than the normal energization current value. Therefore, if the overcurrent suppression unit is switched before the accident is removed, the overcurrent suppression unit newly inserted in the power system causes a superconducting / normal conduction transition and cannot be re-energized. . That is, it is important to switch the overcurrent suppressing unit after the accident is removed.
[0025]
Therefore, like a superconducting current limiter according to another embodiment of the present invention, a current detection circuit that detects a current flowing through the superconducting current limiter and a voltage detection circuit that detects a voltage generated by the superconducting current limiter are provided. After monitoring that the voltage generated by the superconducting fault current limiter has exceeded the set voltage value and determined that an accident has occurred, the current flowing through the superconducting fault current limiter falls below the set current value, and overcurrent suppression is performed. What is necessary is just to switch a part.
[0026]
In addition, when a fault current limiter is installed at the bus system connection point, etc., only the power system where the accident occurred is interrupted by the circuit breaker, and power is continuously supplied to the other healthy power systems through the system connection point. There is also a case. In order to enable such an operation mode, the overcurrent suppressing unit is switched without interrupting the power system.

A number of superconducting current limiting elements 1 were prepared in which a YBCO thin film having a thickness of 150 nm was formed on a sapphire substrate having a length of 15 cm, a width of 1 cm, and a thickness of 1 mm. The critical current value Ic at the liquid nitrogen temperature of the YBCO thin film was approximately 80 A, although there was some variation among individual superconducting current limiting elements. Using such a superconducting current limiting element, a superconducting current limiting module was produced as shown in FIGS.

[0036]
A current limiting test using a 6.6 kV AC power source was performed on the superconducting current limiting device of this example. This test was carried out by simulating the occurrence of a short-circuit accident at a current zero point after energization at 2 kA for 10 seconds, and setting so that a current of 20 kA would flow when there was no current limiter. After applying a voltage for flowing an overcurrent, the current was interrupted by a circuit breaker 0.3 seconds later.
[0037]
As a result of the current limiting test, the peak value of the overcurrent was successfully suppressed to 7 kA by the current limiting operation of the superconducting current limiting device. Although the resistance value of the superconducting fault current limiter changed with time, it was estimated that the resistance value was about 2Ω after 0.3 seconds. The state inside the cryostat at this time was analyzed by taking a video from the observation

A current limiting test was performed on the conventional superconducting current limiting device shown in FIG. 4 under the same conditions as described above. As a result, although the large buffer space was prepared, the pressure increased to 2.3 atm or more after 30 seconds due to the nitrogen gas generated during the current limiting operation.
[0041]
As described above, in the superconducting fault current limiter of the comparative example, the pressure of the generated nitrogen gas reaches 2 atm or more even when using a cryostat with a total height of 7.5 m, whereas in the superconducting fault current limiter of the example, the total height is 2 m. [0052]
In the present embodiment, the impedance component during normal energization has a resistance component of 0.1 mΩ and an inductance component of 10 μH, and a voltage of about 7 V is generated across the superconducting current limiter when a 2000 Hz effective value of 50 Hz alternating current is energized. Here, it was set to determine that an accident occurred when a voltage of 10 times, that is, 70 V, was generated.
[0053]
In the experiment, a system in which the current is zero by simulating the circuit breaker is simulated, and after it is determined that an accident has occurred by voltage measurement, a switching command for the overcurrent suppression unit is issued when the current becomes zero. The circuit is assembled. A CT coil is used for current measurement, and the voltage is measured by reducing the voltage to 1000: 1 by resistance voltage division.
[0054]
In the third embodiment, the switching operation is started 0.5 seconds after the accident occurs. However, the time for which the breaker of the power system is opened differs depending on the system and is not necessarily constant. Therefore, in this example, a current limiting test was performed for the three cases shown in Table 2 below, including re-energization. The same conditions as in Example 1 are used for the accident current, the system voltage, and the current value.

[0056]
In the superconducting fault current limiter of this example, in any case of Table 2, a switching command was issued about 0.15 seconds after the accident current became zero, and the operation of Table 1 was performed. As a result, the switching of the overcurrent suppression unit was completed 0.25 seconds after the accident current became zero, and re-energization was successful.

[0061]
The current limiting test similar to Example 1 was done with respect to the superconducting fault current limiter of this example. However, a current of 1000 A corresponding to half of the current value at the time of normal energization was energized instead of no voltage after 0.3 seconds. One second later, the current value was increased to 2000 A corresponding to normal energization. By switching the overcurrent suppressor after 0.5 seconds, re-energization after 1 second could be performed without any trouble. During this time, the current was not interrupted.
[0062]
In addition, if the switching operation shown in the following Table 4 is also performed in the switching mechanism of the second embodiment described above (shown in FIG. 7), the overcurrent suppressing unit can be switched without interrupting the power system.
[0063]
[Table 4]
[0064]
However, when the system is switched as shown in Table 4, a state in which the overcurrent suppressing unit is short-circuited by performing the switching operation 1 occurs. Therefore, in the worst case where the circuit breaker opened for accident removal is turned on in the state of the switching operation 1 and the accident has not yet been removed, the overcurrent cannot be suppressed.
[0065]
On the other hand, in the case of Example 5, since the overcurrent suppressing unit is connected in series, the overcurrent can be suppressed even in the worst case as described above. Therefore, in order to switch the overcurrent suppression unit without interrupting the power system, it is preferable to switch over the state in which the overcurrent suppression unit is connected in series as in the fifth embodiment.
[0066]
Note that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment as it is, and can be embodied by modifying the constituent elements without departing from the scope of the invention in the implementation stage. In addition, various inventions can be formed by appropriately combining a plurality of components disclosed in the embodiment. For example, some components may be deleted from all the components shown in the embodiment. Furthermore, constituent elements over different embodiments may be appropriately combined.
[0067]
【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, according to the present invention, it is possible to suppress the generation of gas during the current limiting operation, and it is possible to provide a compact superconducting current limiting device.
