本発明は静電写真式複写機等の画像形成装置に設けられる現像器とホッパーの結合・分離装置に係り、詳しくは現像器をホッパーに対して結合・分離自在に構成した装置に関する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本体に対してホッパーを着脱可能となるように構成した画像形成装置では、そのホッパーに現像器が一体化されているため、特に、そのホッパーが大きい場合には、現像器の出し入れを容易におこなえるように構成するのが困難になることがあった。一方、その出し入れを容易化しようとすれば本体が大型化してしまうという難点があった。

本発明はこのような実情に鑑みてなされ、現像器の出し入れが容易で本体のコンパクト化をも図れる現像器とホッパーの結合・分離装置を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上述の課題を解決するための手段を以下のように構成している。
すなわち、画像形成装置に設けられ、ホッパーに対して現像ユニットを結合・分離自在に構成した現像器とホッパーの結合・分離装置であって、ホッパー側トナー搬送路のトナー落し口に対して、現像器側トナー搬送路の接続口が結合・分離自在となるように、その現像器側トナー搬送路を前記現像ユニットにスライド自在に設けると共に、現像器側トナー搬送路が内部にフィーダを有し、また、前記フィーダの軸を駆動源と連動される軸に接続する摺動継手が設けられ、現像器側トナー搬送路と結合させる際には、現像器側トナー搬送路の接続口をホッパー側トナー搬送路のトナー落し口に向けてスライドさせるように構成している。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下に本発明の現像器とホッパーの結合・分離装置の実施形態を図面を参照しつつ説明する。
図1はホッパーの結合・分離装置の斜視図、図2はその要部分解斜視図で、これらの図において、符号1はトナー供給用のホッパー、2はホッパー側トナー搬送路、3はそのホッパー側トナー搬送路2内に設けられた螺旋式フィーダ、4はトナー搬送路2の端末部に設けられたトナー落し口、5はそのトナー落し口4に設けられた開閉自在なシャッター、6はホッパー側トナー搬送路2に対して進退自在な現像器側トナー搬送路、7はその現像器側トナー搬送路6内に設けられた螺旋式フィーダ、8はシャッター5に対して結合・分離自在な接続口、9は駆動源(図示省略)と接続される歯車で、その軸10は摺動継手11等によって螺旋式フィーダ7の軸71と接続されている。12は現像ユニット13(図4参照)に位置固定に設けられたトナー攪拌搬送路である。

上述のホッパー1は、画像形成装置本体(以下本体という)15(図5参照)の前扉16を開放して前方に引き出し自在なドラム側板組立17に位置固定に設けられ、現像ユニット13はそのドラム側板組立17に着脱自在に設けられる。そのドラム側板組立17(図3,図4参照)には、感光体ドラム18,帯電ユニット19,クリーニングユニット21等が組み込まれており、そのドラム側板組立17の下部に設けられた摺動部材22が本体15の前後方向に設けられたガイドレール23に案内されて出し入れできるようになっており、このドラム側板組立17を本体15から引き出した状態にて、現像ユニット13をホッパー1に対して結合・分離できるようになっている。

なお、図3の24,25は前後の側板、図4の211はクリーニングユニット21に対する押圧装置であり、両側板24,25間に支持された支軸212の両側部に一対の支持部材213を固定してその支軸212に螺合固定した案内軸214に押圧部材215を案内させスプリング216によってその押圧部材215を、両側板24,25間に揺動支持させたクリーニングユニット21の背部に押圧付勢させ、クリーニングブレード(図示省略)を感光体ドラム18に均等に付勢当接できるようにしている。

上述のホッパーとクリーニングユニット21の結合・分離装置26の詳細は、図2に示され、ホッパー側トナー供給路2の端末部には下向きの開口27が形成され、その直下に円筒状に開口されたトナー落し口4を有するシャッター収納部材28が取り付けられ、そのシャッター収納部材28にシャッター5が回動操作自在に嵌装される。そのシャッター5は、円筒状体の一部を切り欠いた開口部51を有する本体52と、その本体52の端部に取り付けられた操作片53とよりなり、その本体52の端部には、開口部51の一端と連通するキー溝54が形成されている。これに対して、現像器側トナー搬送路6の接続口8には、ホッパー側トナー搬送路2の開口27と対応する上向きの開口81が形成され、その開口81の一側にその現像器側トナー搬送路6の移動方向(Y方向)にキー82が形成されている。

このような構成により、現像器側トナー搬送路6をホッパー側トナー搬送路2と結合させる際には、図示のように操作片53を上方に向けた位置状態として、レバー61(図5参照)を操作して、現像器側トナー搬送路6をホッパー側トナー搬送路2のトナー落し口4に向けてスライドさせ、キー82をキー溝54に嵌挿させることにより、その接続口8をシャッター5の本体52内に挿入結合できるようになっており(図3参照)、その間、シャッター5によって、開口27が閉じられトナーが洩れ出ることのないようにし、その接続口8の挿入が完了した時点で、操作片53を図2の反時計回りに回動させてその開口部51を両開口27,81と対応させることにより、ホッパー側から現像器側へトナーを供給できるようにすると共に、この時、キー82がキー溝54から外れてシャッター5の開口部51の側部に当接し、接続口8がシャッター5にラッチされ結合が完了する。なお、この時点で現像ユニット13を前後の固定レバー(図示省略)によってドラム側板組立17に固定する。

一方、現像ユニット13をドラム側板組立17から分離する際には、まず、操作片53を起立させてホッパー側の開口27をシャッター5で閉じ、かつ、そのキー溝54をキー82と対応させてラッチを解除した後、現像器側トナー搬送路6を後退させれば、接続口8をシャッター5の本体52から分離させることができ、現像ユニット13をドラム側板組立17に固定している前・後の固定レバーを外せば、その現像ユニット13のみ取り出すことができる。

以上のような結合・分離装置26により、ホッパー1の容量が大きい場合でも、そのホッパー1をドラム側板組立17に固定したままで、画像形成装置を大型化することなくコンパクトにして、現像ユニット13のみをきわめて容易に着脱できるように構成することが可能となる。

以上説明したように、本発明の現像器とホッパーの結合・分離装置によれば、ホッパーが大きい場合でも、画像形成装置本体をコンパクトなものとして、現像ユニットのみを容易に取り出せるようにすることができる。
