Abstract

SOLUTION: A developing device side toner carrying path 6 is provided to freely slide in a developing unit 13 so that the connection port 8 of the path 6 may be freely coupled with/separated from the toner dropping hole 4 of a hopper side toner carrying path 2, and has a feeder 7 and a sliding joint 11 connecting the shaft 71 of the feeder to a shaft 10 interlocked with a driving source 9 inside. In the case of coupling the path 2 with the path 6, the connection port 8 of the path 6 is made to slide toward the toner dropping hole 4 of the path 2.

合・分離自在に構成した装置に関する。 【0002】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】本体に対してホッパー
を着脱可能となるように構成した画像形成装置では、そ
のホッパーに現像器が一体化されているため、特に、そ
のホッパーが大きい場合には、現像器の出し入れを容易
におこなえるように構成するのが困難になることがあっ
た。一方、その出し入れを容易化しようとすれば本体が
大型化してしまうという難点があった。 【0003】本発明はこのような実情に鑑みてなされ、
現像器の出し入れが容易で本体のコンパクト化をも図れ
る現像器とホッパーの結合・分離装置を提供することを
目的としている。 【0004】 【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は上述の課題を解
決するための手段を以下のように構成している。すなわ
ち、ホッパーに対して現像ユニットを結合・分離自在に
構成した現像器とホッパーの結合・分離装置であって、
ホッパー側トナー搬送路のトナー落し口に対して、現像
器側トナー搬送路の接続口が結合・分離自在となるよう
に、その現像器側トナー搬送路を前記現像ユニットにス
ライド自在に設けると共に現像器側トナー搬送路が内
部にフィーダと、フィーダのを駆動源と連動される軸
に接続する摺動継手とを有し、現像器側トナー搬送路と
結合させる際には、現像器側トナー搬送路の接続口をホ
ッパー側トナー搬送路のトナー落し口に向けてスライド
させるように構成している。 【0005】 【発明の実施の形態】以下に本発明の現像器とホッパー
の結合・分離装置の実施形態を図面を参照しつつ説明す
る。図1はホッパーの結合・分離装置の斜視図、図2は
その要部分解斜視図で、これらの図において、符号1は
トナー供給用のホッパー、2はホッパー側トナー搬送
路、3はそのホッパー側トナー搬送路2内に設けられた
螺旋式フィーダ、4はトナー搬送路2の端末部に設けら
れたトナー落し口、5はそのトナー落し口4に設けられ
た開閉自在なシャッター、6はホッパー側トナー搬送路
2に対して進退自在な現像器側トナー搬送路、7はその
現像器側トナー搬送路6内に設けられた螺旋式フィー
ダ、8はシャッター5に対して結合・分離自在な接続
口、9は駆動源(図示省略)と接続される歯車で、その
軸10は摺動継手11等によって螺旋式フィーダ7の軸
71と接続されている。12は現像ユニット13(図4
参照)に位置固定に設けられたトナー攪拌搬送路であ
る。 【0006】上述のホッパー1は、画像形成装置本体
(以下本体という)15(図5参照)の前扉16を開放
して前方に引き出し自在なドラム側板組立17に位置固
定に設けられ、現像ユニット13はそのドラム側板組立
17に着脱自在に設けられる。そのドラム側板組立17
(図3,図4参照)には、感光体ドラム18,帯電ユニ
ット19,クリーニングユニット21等が組み込まれて
おり、そのドラム側板組立17の下部に設けられた摺動
部材22が本体15の前後方向に設けられたガイドレー
ル23に案内されて出し入れできるようになっており、
このドラム側板組立17を本体15から引き出した状態
にて、現像ユニット13をホッパー1に対して結合・分
離できるようになっている。 【0007】なお、図3の24,25は前後の側板、図
4の211はクリーニングユニット21に対する押圧装
置であり、両側板24,25間に支持された支軸212
の両側部に一対の支持部材213を固定してその支軸2
12に螺合固定した案内軸214に押圧部材215を案
内させスプリング216によってその押圧部材215
を、両側板24,25間に揺動支持させたクリーニング
ユニット21の背部に押圧付勢させ、クリーニングブレ
ード(図示省略)を感光体ドラム18に均等に付勢当接
できるようにしている。 【0008】上述のホッパーとクリーニングユニット2
1の結合・分離装置26の詳細は、図2に示され、ホッ
パー側トナー供給路2の端末部には下向きの開口27が
形成され、その直下に円筒状に開口されたトナー落し口
4を有するシャッター収納部材28が取り付けられ、そ
のシャッター収納部材28にシャッター5が回動操作自
在に嵌装される。そのシャッター5は、円筒状体の一部
を切り欠いた開口部51を有する本体52と、その本体
52の端部に取り付けられた操作片53とよりなり、そ
の本体52の端部には、開口部51の一端と連通するキ
ー溝54が形成されている。これに対して、現像器側ト
ナー搬送路6の接続口8には、ホッパー側トナー搬送路
2の開口27と対応する上向きの開口81が形成され、
その開口81の一側にその現像器側トナー搬送路6の移
動方向(Y方向)にキー82が形成されている。 【0009】このような構成により、現像器側トナー搬
送路6をホッパー側トナー搬送路2と結合させる際に
は、図示のように操作片53を上方に向けた位置状態と
して、レバー61(図5参照)を操作して、現像器側ト
ナー搬送路6をホッパー側トナー搬送路2のトナー落し
口4に向けてスライドさせ、キー82をキー溝81に嵌
挿させることにより、その接続口8をシャッター5の本
体52内に挿入結合できるようになっており(図3参
照)、その間、シャッター5によって、開口27が閉じ
られトナーが洩れ出ることのないようにし、その接続口
8の挿入が完了した時点で、操作片53を図2の反時計
回りに回動させてその開口部51を両開口27,81と
対応させることにより、ホッパー側から現像器側へトナ
ーを供給できるようにすると共に、この時、キー82が
キー溝54から外れてシャッター5の開口部51の側部
に当接し、接続口8がシャッター5にラッチされ結合が
完了する。なお、この時点で現像ユニット13を前後の
固定レバー(図示省略)によってドラム側板組立17に
固定する。 【0010】一方、現像ユニット13をドラム側板組立
17から分離する際には、まず、操作片53を起立させ
てホッパー側の開口27をシャッター5で閉じ、かつ、
そのキー溝54をキー82と対応させてラッチを解除し

て、現像ユニットのみを容易に取り出せるようにするこ
