【従来の技術および発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記した公園や遊園地などの屋外に設置される椅子は、二人あるいは三人など数人が同時に腰掛けられるベンチなどの椅子が主流である。そのほか、一人掛け用の椅子を複数脚横一列に並べた組椅子もあるが、それらの椅子は一般的に腰掛け本体が合成樹脂製の一体構造で、鉄製の支持脚にてコンクリート製の土台に固定されている。

上記の目的を達成するために本発明に係るユニット組椅子は、水平な腰掛け座の後端に背当て部を設けると共に前記腰掛け座の両側から水平に伸びる肘掛け板を設けて腰掛け本体を構成し、前記腰掛け本体の両側に、一本ずつの脚部を相互に逆方向に傾斜させて、一端を肘掛け板に、中間部を腰掛け座に固定してなるユニット椅子を複数脚組み合わせて構成されるユニット組椅子であって、前記各ユニット椅子を縦向きに対向(対向には、相向かい合う場合はもちろん、左右に位置がずれて向かい合う場合のほか、背当て部の後ろ面が向かい合う場合を含む)させるか、同一方向に横一列に隣接させて並べるかして直接(連結部材を介在させずに)又は連結部材を介して一体に連結したことを特徴としている。
