Conventionally, a permanent magnet is attached to the object to be detected whose rotation angle is to be detected, a Hall element is placed in the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet, and the above detection object is detected from the change in magnetic flux density intersecting the Hall element. A rotation angle sensor that detects the rotation angle of an object without contact is known. A typical example of this type of rotation angle sensor is a throttle opening sensor for detecting the throttle opening (throttle valve opening) of an in-vehicle internal combustion engine. FIG. 4 shows the configuration of such a

[0013]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional driving circuit, a temperature detecting element such as a temperature sensitive resistor R5 has to be added separately, and the temperature detecting element and the Hall element are disposed at physically different positions. Therefore, accurate temperature compensation that accurately captures the temperature of the Hall element cannot be performed. That is, the temperature of the temperature detecting element and the temperature of the Hall element are not always the same.
[0014]
Further, as shown in FIG. 7B, the inventor positively utilizes the fact that the internal resistance value (internal resistance value between the drive current terminals a and b) Rd of the Hall element changes depending on the temperature. As illustrated in FIG. 8, instead of always applying a constant voltage V + to the non-inverting input terminal of the

[0017]
On the other hand, Hall elements are generally made of InSb (indium, antimony) and GaAs (gallium, arsenic). As shown in FIG. 7A, both are linear in terms of sensitivity. As shown in FIG. 7B, the Hall element made of InSb has a negative temperature characteristic with respect to the internal resistance value Rd, and the Hall element made of GaAs has a negative temperature characteristic with respect to the internal resistance value Rd. It has a linear positive temperature characteristic.
[0018]
For this reason, for a physical quantity detection element whose internal resistance value decreases as the temperature rises, such as a Hall element made of InSb, by performing a simple constant voltage drive in which a constant voltage is applied between the drive current terminals, The detection sensitivity can be made almost constant regardless of the temperature. That is, as the temperature rises, the internal resistance value decreases and the drive current naturally increases.
[0019]
However, for a physical quantity detection element whose internal resistance value increases as the temperature rises, such as a Hall element made of GaAs, temperature compensation cannot be performed by constant voltage driving as described above.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and the variation in detection sensitivity due to the temperature of the physical quantity detection element, in which the internal resistance value increases and the detection sensitivity decreases as the temperature rises, is detected by temperature detection such as a temperature-sensitive resistor. A drive circuit for a physical quantity detection element that can be compensated accurately with a simple configuration without providing a separate element is provided. Further, by using the drive circuit, the rotation angle of the detection object can be increased regardless of the temperature. An object of the present invention is to provide a rotation angle sensor capable of detecting with high accuracy.
[0020]
[Means for solving the problems and effects of the invention]
[0021]
Therefore, in this drive circuit, feedback means is provided, and the feedback means positively feeds back the voltage between the drive current terminals of the physical quantity detection element to the drive current supplied to the physical quantity detection element by the current supply means. .
In other words, when the temperature rises in a state where a predetermined drive current is passed through the physical quantity detection element by the current supply means, the internal resistance value of the physical quantity detection element (internal resistance value between the drive current terminals) increases, Accordingly, since the voltage between the drive current terminals of the physical quantity detection element (hereinafter also referred to as drive voltage) increases, the change in the drive voltage is caused by the change in the internal resistance value of the physical quantity detection element, and further by the physical quantity detection element itself. It corresponds to the temperature change.
[0022]
For this reason, claim 1Or 2In this drive circuit, the drive voltage applied between the drive current terminals of the physical quantity detection element is positively fed back to the drive current to the physical quantity detection element (the drive current increases as the drive voltage increases). The drive current increases as the temperature rises to compensate for the decrease in detection sensitivity accompanying the temperature rise of the physical quantity detection element. In other words, by utilizing the fact that the internal resistance value of the physical quantity detection element changes with temperature, the change in the internal resistance value is reflected in the drive current with a positive characteristic, so that the drive current has a positive temperature characteristic. Thus, a variation in detection sensitivity due to the temperature of the physical quantity detection element is compensated.
[0023]
Therefore, this claim 1Or 2According to this drive circuit, it is possible to perform accurate temperature compensation accurately capturing the temperature of the physical quantity detection element itself without providing a temperature detection element such as a temperature sensitive resistor or a complicated correction circuit such as a multiplier. become able to.
In addition, in this drive circuit, temperature compensation is performed in accordance with the temperature of the physical quantity detection element itself, so that temperature compensation can be performed even when a large drive current that causes self-heating of the physical quantity detection element is a problem. Therefore, it is possible to obtain an excellent effect that detection sensitivity can be improved by supplying a large drive current to the physical quantity detection element. That is, in the conventional drive circuit shown in FIG. 6, since temperature compensation cannot be performed for the heat generation of the
[0024]
hereAnd claims1'sSpecifically, the drive circuitAs belowConstitutionHas beenThe
That is, ElectricThe current supply means has an inverting input terminal connected to one drive current terminal of the physical quantity detection element, an output terminal connected to the other drive current terminal of the physical quantity detection element, and a non-inverting input terminal connected to the first voltage V1. And a resistor R having one end connected to the inverting input terminal of the operational amplifier and the other end to which a predetermined voltage Vi different from the first voltage V1 is applied.
[0025]
The feedback means includes an inverting amplifier for inverting and amplifying the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier with respect to the first voltage V1 (specifically, with a positive or negative reference), and a second voltage different from the first voltage V1. The adder applies a voltage obtained by adding V2 and the output voltage of the inverting amplifier to the end of the resistor R opposite to the operational amplifier side as the predetermined voltage Vi. The inverting amplifier outputs a voltage such as “−A · (Vo−V1) + V1” when the amplification factor is −A (A is a positive number).
[0026]
Such claims1In the driving circuit, the operational amplifier that constitutes the current supply means is configured such that the voltage of the inverting input terminal (that is, the voltage of the one driving current terminal of the physical quantity detection element) is applied to the non-inverting input terminal. The output voltage Vo applied to the other drive current terminal of the physical quantity detection element is changed from its own output terminal so as to be equal to the voltage V1. For this reason, between the drive current terminals of the physical quantity detection element, a current that flows in the resistor R, which is a target current (a value obtained by dividing the potential difference between the predetermined voltage Vi and the first voltage V1 by the resistance value of the resistor R). = | Vi−V1 | / R) flows as the drive current I, the drive voltage “| Vo−V1 |” is applied.
[0027]
In this case, of the two drive current terminals of the physical quantity detection element, the voltage of the drive current terminal connected to the inverting input terminal of the operational amplifier is maintained at the first voltage V1, and the other drive current terminal. The output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier is controlled so that the drive current I to the physical quantity detection element becomes the target current (= | Vi−V1 | / R). Changes in accordance with the change in the internal resistance value of the physical quantity detection element, and in turn the temperature change of the physical quantity detection element itself.
[0028]
Therefore, the claim1In this drive circuit, the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier is treated as the drive voltage of the physical quantity detection element, and the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier is inverted and amplified with the first voltage V1 as a reference by the inverting amplifier. A voltage obtained by adding the output voltage and the second voltage V2 is applied to the end portion of the resistor R opposite to the operational amplifier side by an adder as the predetermined voltage Vi, so that the drive current terminal of the physical quantity detection element is connected. Is positively fed back to the drive current supplied to the physical quantity detection element by the current supply means.
[0029]
The mechanism of this positive feedback is as follows (1-1) to (1-3).
(1-1) First, when the temperature rises, the internal resistance value of the physical quantity detection element increases, and accordingly, the difference between the first voltage V1 and the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier (that is, the drive voltage of the physical quantity detection element). ) Becomes larger.
[0030]
(1-2) The output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier is inverted and amplified with reference to the first voltage V1, and further added to the second voltage V2, so that the end of the resistor R on the opposite side to the operational amplifier side. Is applied to the unit as the predetermined voltage Vi. When the difference between the first voltage V1 and the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier increases as the temperature rises, the predetermined voltage Vi applied to the resistor R is When viewed on the basis of the voltage V1, it increases in the direction of polarity opposite to the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier. That is, when the difference between the first voltage V1 and the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier increases as the temperature rises, the difference between the predetermined voltage Vi applied to the resistor R and the first voltage V1 also increases.
[0031]
(1-3) As a result, the target current (= | Vi−V1 | / R) of the current supply unit including the operational amplifier and the resistor R becomes large, and the drive supplied to the physical quantity detection element by the current supply unit The current I increases.
And this claim1According to the driving circuit, the resistance value of the resistor R and the amplification factor (−A) of the inverting amplifier are set according to the temperature coefficient of the detection sensitivity of the physical quantity detection element and the temperature coefficient of the internal resistance value, thereby The change in the internal resistance value of the physical quantity detection element due to the above, that is, the temperature change of the physical quantity detection element itself is appropriately reflected in the driving current I, so that the variation in detection sensitivity due to the temperature of the physical quantity detection element can be compensated accurately.
[0032]
Also, Claims2The drive circuit ofSpecifically, it is configured as follows.
That is, ElectricThe current supply means has an inverting input terminal connected to one drive current terminal of the physical quantity detection element, an output terminal connected to the other drive current terminal of the physical quantity detection element, and a non-inverting input terminal connected to the first voltage V1. And a resistor R having one end connected to the inverting input terminal of the operational amplifier and the other end connected to a second voltage V2 different from the first voltage V1.
[0033]
The feedback means inverts and amplifies the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier with respect to the first voltage V1 (specifically, with positive and negative standards), the output terminal of the inverting amplifier, and the inversion of the operational amplifier. The feedback resistor R2 is connected between the input terminal and the input terminal. The above-mentioned claims1In the same manner as the driving circuit, the inverting amplifier outputs a voltage such as “−A · (Vo−V1) + V1” where the amplification factor is −A (where A is a positive number).
[0034]
This claim2In the drive circuit of claim1As in the driving circuit of FIG. 5, the operational amplifier constituting the current supply means has a voltage at the inverting input terminal (that is, the voltage at the one driving current terminal of the physical quantity detection element) applied to the non-inverting input terminal. The output voltage Vo applied to the other drive current terminal of the physical quantity detection element is changed from its own output terminal so as to be equal to the voltage V1 of 1.
[0035]
For this reason, assuming that there is no feedback means comprising the inverting amplifier and the feedback resistor R2, there is a current flowing through the resistor R between the drive current terminals of the physical quantity detection element, and the first voltage V1 and the second voltage. A drive voltage “| Vo−V1 |” is applied so that a current (= | V1−V2 | / R) obtained by dividing the potential difference from V2 by the resistance value of the resistor R flows as the drive current I. It becomes. Of the two drive current terminals of the physical quantity detection element, the voltage of the drive current terminal connected to the inverting input terminal of the operational amplifier is kept at the first voltage V1, and is the voltage of the other drive current terminal. Since the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier is controlled so that the drive current I to the physical quantity detection element becomes the current (= | V1-V2 | / R), the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier is detected by the physical quantity. It changes in accordance with a change in the internal resistance value of the element and, in turn, a temperature change in the physical quantity detection element itself.
[0036]
Therefore, the claim2In this driving circuit, the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier is treated as the drive voltage of the physical quantity detection element, and the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier is inverted and amplified with the first voltage V1 as a reference by the inverting amplifier. Is connected to the inverting input terminal of the operational amplifier via a feedback resistor R2, so that the drive voltage applied between the drive current terminals of the physical quantity detection element is converted by the current supply means into the physical quantity detection element. Is positively fed back to the drive current supplied to.
[0037]
The mechanism of this positive feedback is as follows (2-1) to (2-3).
(2-1) First, when the temperature rises, the internal resistance value of the physical quantity detection element increases, and accordingly, the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier changes, and the difference between the first voltage V1 and the output voltage Vo. (That is, the drive voltage of the physical quantity detection element) increases.
[0038]
(2-2) Since the inverting amplifier inverts and amplifies the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier with reference to the first voltage V1, the first voltage V1 and the output voltage of the operational amplifier are increased as the temperature rises. When the difference from Vo increases, the output voltage of the inverting amplifier increases in the direction of polarity opposite to that of the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier when viewed with reference to the first voltage V1.
[0039]
(2-3) Then, the voltage at the inverting input terminal of the operational amplifier tries to change from the first voltage V1 in the opposite polarity direction to the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier by the feedback resistor R2. In order to prevent this, the output voltage Vo of the operational amplifier further changes, and as a result, the drive current I supplied to the physical quantity detection element by the current supply means comprising the operational amplifier increases.
[0040]
And this claim2With this drive circuit, the resistance value of the feedback resistor R2 and the amplification factor (−A) of the inverting amplifier are set according to the temperature coefficient of the detection sensitivity of the physical quantity detection element and the temperature coefficient of the internal resistance value. The change of the internal resistance value of the physical quantity detection element due to the temperature, that is, the temperature change of the physical quantity detection element itself is appropriately reflected in the driving current I, and the fluctuation of the detection sensitivity due to the temperature of the physical quantity detection element can be accurately compensated. .
[0041]
By the way, the above-mentioned claim 1.Or 2In the drive circuit of
[0042]
Next, the claim4The rotation angle sensor according to the present invention described in (1) is attached to a detection object whose rotation angle is to be detected, and is arranged in a magnetic field generated by the magnet that rotates together with the detection object. A Hall element that outputs a voltage corresponding to the strength, and an output voltage (Hall voltage) of the Hall element that changes with an angle change between a magnetic field direction by the magnet and a magnetic sensitive surface of the Hall element. , Output to the outside as a signal indicating the rotation angle of the detection object, particularly as a drive circuit for supplying a drive current to the Hall element3The drive circuit of the physical quantity detection element described in 1. is provided.
[0043]
Therefore, this claim4According to the rotation angle sensor, the circuit constant for determining the loop gain that positively feeds back the drive voltage of the Hall element to the drive current in the drive circuit (specifically, claims)1In the driving circuit, the resistance value of the resistor R and the amplification factor of the inverting amplifier,2In this drive circuit, the resistance value of the feedback resistor R2 and the amplification factor of the inverting amplifier) are taken into account not only of the temperature coefficient of the Hall element sensitivity and the temperature coefficient of the internal resistance value but also the temperature coefficient of the magnetic flux density of the magnet. Thus, the signal from the sensor to the outside can be made unaffected by the temperature, and the rotation angle of the detection target can be detected with high accuracy regardless of the temperature. In particular, since such temperature compensation can be performed with a simple circuit configuration, the rotation angle sensor can be reduced in size and cost.
