(K.Kikushima, et al, "Optical Super Wide-Band FM Modulation Scheme and Its Application to Muti-Channel AM Video Transmission Systems", IOOC'95 Technical Digest, Vol.5 PD2-7, pp.33-34)に示されている。

【0024】
Δt=t2−t1
=(a/4)・2Δf(αfc−Ac)/((fc−Δf2)(Ac−α2Δf2))
【0025】

As described above, according to the fourth or fifth invention, as the FM laser, the oscillation wavelength changes to the long wavelength side or the short wavelength side with respect to the increase of the injection current. Regardless of which type is used, the relationship shown in (Equation 2) is realized by appropriately controlling the relative relationship between the oscillation wavelengths of the FM laser and the local light source, thereby achieving FM modulation. It is possible to suppress the linear distortion that occurs at the time of signal identification and to relax the identification accuracy. 【The invention's effect】
In the first invention, the control unit controls the operating condition (bias current value or environmental temperature) of the FM laser or the local light source, thereby increasing the instantaneous frequency of the FM modulation signal obtained by the optical detection unit. The instantaneous amplitude is set to decrease, and the center frequency (carrier frequency) fc of the FM modulation signal is adjusted to a predetermined value. That is, the oscillation wavelength of the FM laser or the local light source is optimized with respect to the primary change rate of the instantaneous light intensity with respect to the change of the instantaneous light frequency of the FM laser and the average amplitude Ac of the FM modulation signal input to the identification unit. By controlling, linear distortion generated at the time of identification of the FM modulation signal can be suppressed, and the identification accuracy can be relaxed.
[0041]
In the second invention, the control unit controls the operating condition (bias current value or environmental temperature) of the FM laser or the local light source, thereby increasing the instantaneous frequency of the FM modulation signal obtained by the optical detection unit. The instantaneous amplitude is set to decrease, and the center frequency (carrier frequency) fc of the FM modulation signal is adjusted to a predetermined value. The amplitude adjustment unit adjusts the average amplitude Ac of the FM modulation signal input to the identification unit to a predetermined value. That is, the oscillation wavelength of the FM laser or the local light source is optimally controlled and the amplitude of the FM modulation signal is optimally set with respect to the primary change rate of the instantaneous light intensity with respect to the change of the instantaneous light frequency of the FM laser. Therefore, it is possible to more flexibly suppress the linear distortion that occurs when the FM modulated signal is identified, and to relax the identification accuracy.
[0042]
In the third and fourth aspects of the invention, as the FM laser, a type in which the oscillation wavelength changes to the long wavelength side or a type that changes to the short wavelength side with respect to the increase of the injection current is employed. In addition, by appropriately controlling the relative relationship between the oscillation wavelengths of the FM laser and the local light source, the instantaneous amplitude of the FM modulation signal is set to decrease with the increase of the instantaneous frequency of the FM modulation signal. Linear distortion that occurs during identification can be suppressed, and the identification accuracy can be relaxed.
[0043]
In the fifth invention, the first-order rate of change α of the instantaneous amplitude with respect to the change in the instantaneous frequency of the FM modulation signal, the center frequency fc of the FM modulation signal, and the average amplitude Ac of the FM modulation signal input to the identification unit are By satisfying the relationship of (Equation 1), it is possible to more accurately suppress the linear distortion that occurs when the FM modulated signal is identified.
