本発明は、ヒンジ装置並びにヒンジ装置を用いた電子機器に関するものである。

【従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題】
例えば、携帯式電子機器の典型例としての携帯式電話機においては、携帯式電話機本体(本体部と重合部)を折り畳み自在に設けられた折り畳みタイプがある。

この折り畳みタイプは、スイッチの誤作動防止、折り畳み時におけるコンパクト化(ディスプレイの面積の確保)、デザインの多様性などの点において人気がある。

従って、この折り畳みタイプの携帯式電話機について益々注目が集まる中、より一層実用性の高いものの提案が望まれている。

本出願人は、前述したヒンジ装置に更なる実験・研究を重ね、より一層商品価値の高い画期的なヒンジ装置並びにヒンジ装置を用いた電子機器を開発した。

第一部材1と第二部材2とを開閉回動自在に枢着するヒンジ装置であって、前記第一部材1と第二部材2との枢着連結部25の左右位置いずれか一方の位置に設けられる第一枢着部25Aに設けられる第一ヒンジ体H1と、他方の位置に設けられる第二枢着部25Bに設けられる第二ヒンジ体H2とから成り、前記第一ヒンジ体H1は、第一部材1若しくは第二部材2に連結される第一連結体3と、第二部材2若しくは第一部材1に連結される第二連結体4とで構成され、この第一ヒンジ体H1の第一連結体3,第二連結体4のいずれか一方にカム部10を設け、他方にこのカム部10に係合するカム係合部11を設け、このカム部10,カム係合部11の少なくとも一方を係合離反方向にスライド移動自在に設けると共に、このカム部10,カム係合部11の少なくとも一方を係合方向に付勢する係合付勢体12を備えて、第一部材1に対して重合閉塞状態の第二部材2を開放させた際、重合閉塞位置P1から開放方向に回動させた所定開放角度位置P2までの回動域A1においては、前記係合付勢体12に付勢されてカム部10とカム係合部11とが落ち込み係合しようとすることで、第一部材1に対して第二部材2を重合閉塞位置P1まで自動閉塞させる閉塞回動付勢作用が生じるように構成するとともに、カム部10,カム係合部11の少なくとも一方を回動方向に付勢する回動付勢体13を前記第二ヒンジ体H2に設けて、この回動付勢体13に付勢されてカム部10とカム係合部11とが係脱せずに係合状態のまま共同回動することで、第一部材1に対して第二部材2を所定開放角度位置P3まで自動開放させる開放回動付勢作用が生じるように構成されており、前記カム部10若しくはカム係合部11に係脱自在に係止し得る係止体8を前記第一ヒンジ体H1の第一連結体3,第二連結体4のいずれか一方に設けて、この係止体8がカム部10若しくはカム係合部11に係止した状態では、前記回動付勢体13によるカム部10とカム係合部11との共同回動が阻止されるように構成するとともに、この係止体8がカム部10若しくはカム係合部11から係脱した際、回動付勢体13によるカム部10とカム係合部11との共同回動が許容されるように構成し、この係止体8は、第一連結体3,第二連結体4のいずれか一方に設けた押込みボタン部26の押込み操作によりスライド移動して、前記カム部10若しくはカム係合部11に対する係止が解除されるように構成されていることを特徴とするヒンジ装置に係るものである。

本実施例は、図1に示すように折り畳みタイプの携帯電話機に適用した場合を示したもので、操作部14を備えた本体部を第一部材1とし、表示画面15を備えた重合部を第二部材2とし、第一部材1と第二部材2とが重合した閉塞状態から第二部材2を例えば120度まで回動した開放状態(通話状態)とすることができる枢着構造に本発明のヒンジ装置Hを適用している。
