携帯電話機などの携帯端末装置にあっては、ハンズフリーなどのユーザの要望に応えるために、イヤホンマイクなどを差し込んで接続するイヤホンジャックが設けられている。また、このイヤホンジャックは、普段使用しない場合、イヤホンキャップを被せてこのイヤホンジャックを保護するようになっている。

ところで、近年、前述したハンズフリーばかりでなく、例えば音楽配信その他の各種の機能やサービスなどを受けるために各種の専用機器などが開発されており、イヤホンジャックを介してこれらの専用器機などを接続させるために、イヤホンキャップの開閉頻度が増大している。

以下、このイヤホンキャップを備えた携帯電話機について、図面を参照しながら説明する。
図５及び図６は、従来の携帯電話機の側面部分とその断面を示すものであり、携帯電話機の筺体１００の側面部分には、イヤホンジャック１０１を取り付けた開口部１０２を設けている。また、この筺体１００の開口部１０２には、前述したイヤホンキャップ１０３を開閉自在に取付けている。

通常、このイヤホンキャップ１０３は、可撓性を有する弾性材料で形成されており、図６に示すように、筺体１００側の切欠いた溝１００Ａに係止する薄肉部１０３Ａと、この薄肉部１０３Ａを挟んで両側に設けた基部１０３Ｂ及び蓋部１０３Ｃとを備えている。即ち、このイヤホンキャップ１０３は、薄肉部１０３Ａを挟んで設けた基部１０３Ｂと蓋部１０３Ｃの一部との間で筺体１００側の溝１００Ａに常時固定されているとともに、蓋部１０３Ｃの裏面中央部に設けた突出部１０３Ｄがイヤホンジャック１０１の穴１０１Ａに抜脱可能な状態で嵌合されている。

従って、イヤホンジャック１０１を使用する場合には、図７に示すように、指先や爪で蓋部１０３Ｃを引っ掛けて引き上げれば、蓋部１０３Ｃが屈曲・変移して回動し、開口部１０２が開放されるようになっている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、このような構成の携帯電話機にあっては、前述した凹所などを形成するといった事情から、その分、外観上のデザインなどに制約を受ける虞があり、設計自由度が狭まり不都合を生じている。

また、このような構成の携帯電話機にあっては、イヤホンキャップ１０３で塞がれる筺体１００の開口部１０２の内周縁に、前述したような凹所１００Ｂを設ける関係上、少なくともその凹所１００Ｂよりも高いレベルまで蓋部１０３Ｃを厚く形成して外部へ突出させることが必要である。
このような事情から、キャップがどうしても厚肉形状になるため、筺体側面から突出して外観上の美観を損なう虞もある。

そこで、この発明は、上記した事情に鑑み、イヤホンキャップの外観上の見栄えを損なうことなく、デザイン性を向上させることができるとともに、イヤホンキャップの開閉操作を容易に行うことができる携帯端末装置を提供することを目的とするものである。

上述した課題を解決するため、この発明の携帯端末装置は、筺体の一部に開口する開口部と、この開口部に臨む前記筐体に設けたイヤホンジャックと、前記開口部を開閉自在に塞いで前記イヤホンジャックを保護するイヤホンキャップとを備えた携帯端末装置であって、

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、この発明に係る実施の形態について、添付図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。
図１は、この発明に係る携帯電話機１を示すものであり、この携帯電話機１は、筐体１０に、アンテナ２と、スピーカ３と、コネクタ４と、イヤホンジャック５（図３参照）と、いずれも図示しないが、表示部、キースイッチ、送話部、受話部などとを備えている。
