それによる原案では、変調方式にOFDM(Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing)方式を用いており、現行のアナログテレビジョン放送と同様に1RFチャネルの帯域幅6MHzで伝送できる。
MPEG2ではPSI(Program Specific Information)というプログラム使用情報を用いて番組選択を行う。
【0006】
PSIには、PAT(Program Association Table)、PMT(Program Map Table)、NIT(NetworkInformation Table)等が有り、PATには、そのトランスポートストリームの番号や各論理チャネル番号とPMTの関係等を示し、PMTは各論理チャネル番号ごとにその番組を構成する映像、音声、付加データ等を分離、抽出するための情報等で構成される。
【0019】
なお、EPGのための情報としては、EIT(Event Information Table)と呼ばれる情報がSIで伝送される。
【0020】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a digital broadcast receiving apparatus that receives terrestrial digital broadcasts and digital broadcasts that are frequency-converted and retransmitted.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, satellite broadcasting and cable broadcasting (hereinafter abbreviated as CATV) are becoming widespread in various places, in addition to conventional terrestrial broadcasting that transmits program videos to homes using radio waves in the VHF band and UHF band. Recently, digital broadcasting has been standardized and digital broadcasting using a communication satellite (CS: Communication Satellite) (hereinafter abbreviated as CS digital broadcasting) is currently commercialized. In addition, digital broadcasting (hereinafter abbreviated as “BS digital broadcasting”) and terrestrial digital broadcasting using broadcasting satellites (BS) are aimed at practical use in a few years. Digital terrestrial broadcasting is described in an article “To the start of digital terrestrial broadcasting 2000” on the 20th of October 1997 (Monday). In the original draft, an OFDM (Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system is used as a modulation system, and transmission can be performed with a bandwidth of 6 MHz of 1 RF channel as in the case of the current analog television broadcasting. For the OFDM signal in the 6 MHz band, in order to prevent interference between OFDM signals, a device described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-283806 “Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex Modulation Signal Transmission System” has been made. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 8-294098 “Broadcasting System and Transmitter / Transmitter” converts the OFDM transmission frequency to a lower frequency in the UHF band, or changes the frequency to the upper frequency in the UHF band when analog broadcasting ceases. It describes a device that can easily cope with changing or adding a data service linked to a video, such as text broadcasting or a person's abbreviated calendar.
[0003]
The bandwidth of 1RF channel of OFDM terrestrial digital broadcasting is 6 MHz, which is the same in CATV that mainly retransmits the current analog television broadcasting. Therefore, OFDM terrestrial digital broadcasting is directly used in CATV. It is also possible to transmit to each home through a transmission line.
[0004]
The basis of these digital broadcasts is an image compression technique based on MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) 2 and a multiplexing method based on a data stream called a transport stream (Transport Stream). According to digital broadcasting, it is possible to send several times the number of programs while maintaining the same image quality and sound quality as those of analog broadcasting. In the current analog broadcasting, since one television program broadcast is performed on one RF channel in the 6 MHz band, both can be called channels. However, since digital confusion occurs, hereinafter, the 1 RF channel in the 6 MHz band will be described. Are called physical channels, and those corresponding to a plurality of programs are called logical channels. Also, a system that broadcasts one transport stream on one physical channel (CS, terrestrial or CATV digital broadcast) is a single TS transmission system, and a system that broadcasts two or more transport streams on one physical channel (BS digital broadcast) This is called a multiple TS transmission system.
[0005]
In order to select a program by digital broadcasting of a single TS transmission system, unlike a conventional analog channel selection, a physical channel is selected and a logical channel requested from within one transport stream obtained by the physical channel is selected. Two steps of extraction are required. Examples of this channel selection operation are disclosed on pages 133 to 154 of “Point Illustrated Practice MPEG Textbook” published by Hiroshi Fujiwara and published by ASCII Publishing. In MPEG2, program selection is performed using program usage information called PSI (Program Specific Information).
[0006]
PSI includes PAT (Program Association Table), PMT (Program Map Table), NIT (Network Information Table), etc., and PAT indicates the number of the transport stream, the relationship between each logical channel number and PMT, etc. The PMT is composed of information for separating and extracting video, audio, additional data, etc. constituting the program for each logical channel number. The NIT includes information indicating which transport stream number is transmitted on which physical channel.
[0007]
FIG. 8 is a flowchart of a conventional digital broadcast channel selection method, and a conventional reception channel selection operation will be described with reference to this figure.
In step 801, when a logical channel required for the receiving apparatus (meaning that a desired reception channel is input using a remote controller or the like, hereinafter referred to as a request logical channel) is given, first, in

A technique for shortening the channel selection operation is described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 9-9156 “Program switching method and digital satellite broadcast receiving apparatus in digital satellite broadcast”. This example will be described with reference to FIG.
[0011]
FIG. 9 is a flowchart showing another channel selection method for conventional digital broadcasting. FIG. 8 illustrates the channel selection method in the case where the relationship between the physical channel and the transport number is described in the NIT and the relationship between the transport number and the logical channel number is described in the PAT. An example of channel selection when the relationship between the channel and the transport number and the relationship between the transport number and the logical channel number are described will be shown.
[0012]
Table 1 shows the relationship between the physical channel and the transport number in the information described in the NIT, and Table 2 shows the relationship between the logical channel number and the transport number in the information described in the NIT.

When the NIT transmits the relationship between the transport number and the logical channel number shown in Table 2, and the relationship between the physical channel and the transport number shown in Table 1, which transport number is the requested logical channel number, the transport number Since it is known which physical channel is used for transmission, the reception frequency can be changed as follows.
[0016]
When the requested logical channel number is requested in
[0017]
If they do not match (in the case of “No”), in
[0018]
In addition, EPG (Electronic Program Guide) is described on page 149 of “Point Illustrated Practical MPEG Textbook” published by ASCII Publishing Bureau and supervised by Hiroshi Fujiwara. Furthermore, SI (Service Information) is described in the aforementioned PSI. It is described that a program can be selected by operating a cursor on a television screen by adding and transmitting various additional data called service information).
[0019]
As information for the EPG, information called EIT (Event Information Table) is transmitted by SI.
[0020]
As described above, the bandwidth of 1 RF channel (hereinafter referred to as a physical channel) of the terrestrial digital broadcasting of the OFDM system is 6 MHz, and this is the same in CATV that mainly retransmits the current analog television broadcasting. It is also possible to transmit OFDM terrestrial digital broadcasting to each home as it is through a CATV transmission path.
[0021]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, even in a digital broadcast receiving apparatus in which an OFDM terrestrial digital broadcast is directly transmitted to each home through a CATV transmission path, a program is selected by the above-described electronic program guide, PAT, NIT, or the like. . However, OFDM digital terrestrial broadcasting is scheduled to be broadcast in the UHF band from 470 MHz to 770 MHz, and the current CATV transmission line transmission band is mostly from 90 MHz to 450 MHz, and the band is expanded to 770 MHz. Therefore, the cost of renewal such as service stoppage during the facility renewal period, change of the transmission line amplifier, or thickening of the transmission cable becomes enormous, which is not considered a realistic method.
[0022]
As a method of reducing the equipment update, a method of converting the frequency from 90 MHz to 450 MHz and transmitting it to the CATV transmission line in the CATV headend facility that retransmits the OFDM terrestrial digital broadcast broadcast in the UHF band. There is. When digital broadcasting is retransmitted by this method, information such as NIT is transmitted as it is, so that it is impossible to select a program by EPG (Electronic Program Guide), PAT, NIT, or the like.
[0023]
As a solution, there is a method of converting information such as NIT. In this method, the terrestrial digital broadcast is received and demodulated and returned to the transport stream, the physical channel information described in the NIT in the NIT is converted, the frequency information of the conversion destination is described, and the conversion is further performed. It is necessary to perform OFDM modulation using the transport stream and transmit the signal in a frequency band of 90 MHz to 450 MHz. Even in this method, when considering a small CATV facility or the like provided for countermeasures against radio wave interference by a transmission line or a high-rise building due to the scale of equipment and capital investment of the CATV headend facility, it cannot be considered a realistic method.
[0024]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a digital broadcast receiving apparatus capable of selecting a program from an electronic program guide, PAT or NIT, etc., by simply re-transmitting the digital broadcast after frequency conversion.
