自動空調装置は、内気センサ、ダクトセンサ、日射センサにより計った温度や日射量をコンピュータが演算して指示された温度と比較し、バキュームバルブを作動させ水温バルブ、エアミックスダンパ、ファンの回転数等を自動的に調整する。前記日射センサは、日射量の増加に伴う車室内温度の上昇を抑えるための制御に使用するもので、日射しを受けるインストルメントパネル(フロントデッキ)のフロントガラス近傍に配置されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
トラック等の車両は、乗用車に比べてフロントガラスの傾斜がきつく、インストルメントパネルの前端との間が空いており、前記日射センサは、インストルメントパネル前端のフロントピラー近傍寄りに配置されている構造のものが多い。このため運転者は、運転の妨げにならないようにインストルメントパネルとフロントガラスとの間に物を置いたり、或いは運転席のインストルメントパネル上に伝票等を挟んだバインダ等を置く可能性がある。そして、インストルメントパネルとフロントガラスとの間に置いた物や、インストルメントパネル上に置いた前記バインダ等がフロントガラスとの間にズレ落ちたりして日射センサを覆うことがある。日射センサは、日射しが遮られるとセンサとしての機能を十分に果たすことができなくなり、オートエアコンの車室内温度の調整ができなくなる虞がある。

このため、本発明では、インストルメントパネルとフロントガラスとの間に物が置かれた場合でも日射センサへの日射しが遮られることを防止するようにした車両のインストルメントパネルを提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、請求項1の発明では、車両に設けられ、前下りに傾斜する上面と、上面の前方に向けて連なり、上面の傾斜角度よりも急角度で前下りに傾斜するとともに、フロントガラスとの間に空間部を存して対向する前面とを有するインストルメントパネルであって、この前面の所定位置に一体的に形成され、フロントガラスに向かって張り出す突起部と、突起部に設けられた日射センサとを備えている。日射センサは、インストルメントパネルの前面に突出して設けられた突起部に配置されることで、運転の妨げにならないようにインストルメントパネルとフロントガラスとの間に物が置かれた場合があっても日射センサが突起部に配置されていることで、日射しの妨げとなることがない。また、前記物が突起部により係止されてカーブ等を走行するときに移動することが阻止される。

図1及び図2に示すように車両1のインストルメントパネル2は、上面2aが前方に向かって前下りに緩やかに傾斜し、前面2bが急角度をなして傾斜しフロントガラス3と空間部4を存して対向している。インストルメントパネル2の前面2bにはフロントガラス3に向かって、且つ車幅方向に沿って空調装置のダクト(図示せず)から供給される空気の吹出口2cが多数設けられている。吹出口2cは、インストルメントパネル2内に配置されている前記ダクトが左右に分かれている箇所の上方の部位2dには設けられておらず、隣り合う吹出口2cの間が離れている。この吹出口2cが設けられていない部位2dは、ダクトの構造によって多少異なるが、通常インストルメントパネル2の中央位置の近傍助手席寄りに位置している。

インストルメントパネル2の前面2bには隣り合う吹出口2c、2c間の部位2dの位置に突起部2eが一体に形成されている。この突起部2eは、上面2fが吹出口2cの上端近傍高さから前方に傾斜し、その前面2gがインストルメントパネル2の前面2bからフロントガラス3に向かって張り出して略台形状をなし、当該フロントガラス3近傍に僅かな間隙を存して対向している。そして、突起部2eの上面2fに設けられた孔2hに日射センサ5が装着されている。日射センサ5は、受光面5aが突起部2eの上面2fに沿って略上方に臨んで配置されており、日射しを良好に受光可能とされている。
