電動車椅子の駆動部は、電磁ブレーキ付のモータでギヤ伝動によって減速して駆動輪を駆動するようにしている。電磁ブレーキは、通電時にブレーキ解除となるもので、非通電時にはブレーキがかかった状態となって駐車ブレーキを兼ねるようにしている。
また、ギヤ伝動部にはクラッチを設け、電動車椅子を手押しで移動する場合にクラッチを切るようにしている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
電動車椅子は、停止状態でモータに電磁ブレーキが作用して動かないようにしているが、手押しによって移動する場合のためにクラッチレバーを設けて、このクラッチレバーをクラッチOFFにすれば、手押しで移動できるようにしている。
このクラッチレバーを目立つ位置に設けていると不測にクラッチレバーに触ってクラッチを切り、坂道で車椅子が勝手に動きだして危険な場合がある。
また、クラッチレバーをカバー等で完全に覆っていると、少し手押しで移動したい場合にもカバーを外さなければならなく面倒である。
そこで、本発明では、クラッチレバーを安易に触ることなく、必要な場合には簡単に操作できるようにすることを課題とする。

モータ34の駆動力をギヤケース33を介して駆動輪30に伝動する電動車椅子において、車体の後部にループ状に張り出すガードパイプ31を設け、このガードパイプ31の上方、及び、該ガードパイプ31前方のモータ34やギヤケース33を覆うカバー43を設け、平面視カバー43の後方に突出しない位置、且つ、ガードパイプ31の前方位置に、上側でギヤケース33内のクラッチをONし下側でOFFさせるクラッチレバー35を設け、該クラッチレバー35は、ギヤケース33から後方に向け延設し、その延設した中間部を後方のガードパイプ31と略平行になるよう屈曲させて平行形状部を設け、クラッチレバー35が上側の時には、前記平行形状部を側面視ガードパイプ31と略同高さに位置させるとともに、下側へ切替えた場合には、平行形状部が側面視少なくともガードパイプ31よりも下方位置になるよう構成した。

【発明の作用及び効果】
クラッチレバー35は、ガードパイプ31の内側でカバー43に覆われて外側から見え隠れするようになっているため、あまり目立たず、いたずらで触ることが無い。
また、クラッチレバー35がガードパイプ31で後方からものが当るのを防がれ、ON.OFF操作する場合はガードパイプ31を支点にして手で上下し易い。 さらに、クラッチレバー35をクラッチOFFにすると、車体の後方から見え易いため、電源を入れて走行開始しても走行しない場合にクラッチOFFに気が付き易い。

車体フレーム1の前部には、左右中央に1個の前輪2をフォーク3で軸支し、フォーク3を車体フレーム1のボス部4に軸支したハンドル軸5の下端に固着している。
ハンドル軸5の軸支部分は、図2と図3に示す如く、外周に凹凸を形成した半円状の回動プレート6をハンドル軸5に固着し、車体フレーム1側のボス部4に固着したセンサ取付板7に旋回センサ8を取り付けている。旋回センサ8から回動プレート6の外周に接触片9を延設し、この接触片9を回動プレート6外周の凸部10が押すと旋回センサ8がONし、凹部11では旋回センサ8がOFFするようにしている。すなわち、前輪2が左右に約17°以上回動すると旋回センサ8をONするようにしている。
