図1から図6は本発明の一実施例を示したもので、以下図面に基づき詳説する。筆記具本体はその軸筒1の後部をインク室2となし前方にはインク保溜体3が装着され、そのインク保溜体3は外周面に多数形成された周溝を保溜溝4とし、その保溜溝4を連通させる縦溝5が形成され、更にその縦溝5はインク保溜体3前方部の円筒部の一部が切り欠かれたU字溝6の底部まで連なり形成されている。

インク保溜体5の前方部のU字溝6が形成された部分は、継ぎ手7が圧入嵌合され、継ぎ手7の膨出部8とインク保溜体3のU字溝6とで中継孔9が形成され、その中継孔9には繊維束等で出来た中芯10が緩い圧入か縦溝5の幅程度以下の隙間が空く状態で入り込んでおり、その中芯10は継ぎ手7に圧入されたチップ11に挿入され、その先端はボールの近傍まで達している。尚、継ぎ手7の後部の鍔12はインク保溜体3の前部で保溜溝4を形成するため、鍔12はインクに直接接触しインクが拡張濡れにより鍔12を越えて継ぎ手7の先部を汚す恐れがあるので、継ぎ手7はインク保溜体3より表面張力を低く設定した方が好ましい
。具体的にはインク保溜体3をABS樹脂にて成形しインクの濡れ性改質のため低温プラズマにて処理をした場合、成形品そのままのABS樹脂製継ぎ手7にするか、ABS樹脂より表面張力が低いポリオリフィン系樹脂やポリアセタール樹脂を使う事が考えられる。

以上の如く構成された筆記具において、まずペン先であるチップ11へのインクの流れはインク室2からインク保溜体3の縦溝5を通り中継孔9のU字溝6の底部に達し、更に中継孔9に入り込んでいる中芯10に渡りチップ11先端のボールへとインクが供給される。

次にインク室2から押し出されるインクはペン先であるチップ11へ流れるインクと同様に縦溝5を通り保溜溝4に保溜される。保溜溝4に保溜されたインクはインク室2の空間の空気が温度や気圧の変化で収縮すると縦溝5を通り元のインク室2に戻り、また筆記によりインクが消費される時、インク室2の空間の膨張によりインクが押し出されない場合は保溜溝4のインクが優先的にペン先に供給され、更にペン先のインク消費が進み保溜溝4にインクが無くなり更にインクを消費するとインク室2のインクが減りインク室内2の気圧が下がりインク室2からインクが流出し難くなるが、この様な状態になるとインク保溜体3の後部の保溜溝4から縦溝5を経て空気がインク室2に流入しインク室2の空間の気圧が元に戻り、縦溝5の後部はまたインクで満たされ、インクは元のように円滑に縦溝5を流れる。ここで空気の流入は縦溝5の半径方向で外方の半分程度で起こり内方半分はインクが切れる事が無くペン先へのインクの供給はこの時多少低下するが実使用上問題とならない。

尚、インク保溜体3の後端部の突出部はインク導入部14で縦溝5が形成されており、筆記具の組立時インク液面が保溜体3の後端部に接触するよう充填出来ず空間が多少空いてもインク導入部14に接触するのでインクは筆記具が上向きに設置されていてもインクは縦溝5を通りペン先に供給され速やかに筆記可能の状態になり組立後の筆記検査がすぐに出来る。また製品出荷後、店頭等でペン先を上向きで長時間陳列されていてもインクはペン先に供給出来るためペン先先端からインクが少々揮発しても簡単に筆記不能となるような事もない。

以上の如く構成された筆記具に於て、インク保溜体3の縦溝5にインク室2から保溜溝4へ行くためのインク流路とペン先へインクを供給するための流路を兼用させているためインク保溜体3に通孔を形成しなくてもよく、成形品を作るための金型の構造が簡便になり且つインクをインク室2からペン先へ供給するためにインクは縦溝5を通るための別部材が必要無くなりインク保溜体3及び筆記具本体の原価低減が可能となる。
