Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a theft monitoring system.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, on-vehicle electronic devices such as navigation devices and audio devices have been frequently stolen from parked cars. As a countermeasure against theft of such an in-vehicle electronic device, for example, a navigation device provided with a security function is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In this navigation device, the security mode (warning mode) can be set by inputting an ID code or the like that can be freely determined by the owner. After the security mode is set, if the connection between the navigation device and the in-vehicle battery is interrupted due to the removal of the navigation device, etc., the navigation device determines this as theft and restricts the operation after the theft. Yes. When the navigation apparatus is turned on, a message indicating that the security function is provided is displayed on the display. This gives a feeling of psychological oppression to unauthorized users and prevents theft.
[0003]
In recent years, not only in-vehicle electronic devices but also the vehicle itself may be stolen. As a vehicle theft countermeasure, for example, it is known to install a mobile terminal device that includes a position detection unit that detects the current position of a vehicle based on a signal from a GPS satellite, a wireless communication unit, and the like. (For example, refer to Patent Document 2). The owner can confirm the vehicle position via the mobile terminal device, and can monitor abnormalities such as theft of the vehicle. Even when an abnormality occurs, the vehicle can be tracked by detecting the current position of the vehicle.
[0004]
[Patent Document 1]
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-212360 [Patent Document 2]
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-270184
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional mobile terminal device (Patent Document 2), the security mode can be canceled without inputting an ID code or the like, so that the security mode is easily canceled by an unauthorized user. Further, if the mobile terminal device is broken or thrown out of the vehicle, the vehicle cannot be tracked. For this reason, the mobile terminal device must be installed in an inconspicuous place in the vehicle. However, if it is installed in an inconspicuous place in the vehicle, operations such as setting and releasing the security mode are cumbersome, making it inconvenient. In addition, if the owner forgets the presence of the mobile terminal device and drives without releasing the security mode, the mobile terminal device may judge this as theft and report it to a security company or the like. there were. On the other hand, since the conventional navigation device (Patent Document 1) uses an ID code for setting or canceling the security mode, it is difficult for an unauthorized user to cancel the security mode. Further, since the navigation device is installed in a place that can be seen well from the driver's seat, it is possible to notify an unauthorized user that the anti-theft function is installed. Therefore, a certain effect can be expected in terms of suppressing theft of the navigation device. However, there is a possibility that an unauthorized user may destroy a navigation device that performs an annoying display, and an unauthorized user who intends to steal a vehicle does not have an anti-theft effect.
