【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a vehicle steering apparatus in which a steering shaft coupled to a steering means such as a steered wheel is not mechanically coupled to a steering mechanism that changes the direction of a wheel.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The vehicle steering apparatus includes a link type in which a steering shaft connected to a steering means such as a steering wheel is mechanically connected to a steering mechanism, and the steering shaft is not mechanically connected to the steering mechanism. Broadly divided into linkless types.
[0003]
In the latter linkless type steering device, for example, as described in JP-A-1-153379, a steering shaft is separated from a steering mechanism, and a steering actuator as a steering actuator is provided in the middle of the steering mechanism. A steering control unit using a microprocessor is provided to control the steering wheel according to the deviation between the actual steering angle of the steering wheel and the target steering angle, and the steering wheel is controlled by driving the steering motor. It is configured to adjust to the rudder angle.
[0004]
Further, as the linkless type steering device, when the steering mechanism cannot be driven due to a failure of a driving means such as the steering control unit that drives the steering mechanism in response to steering of the steering wheel, the steering is performed. 2. Description of the Related Art There is known a vehicle steering apparatus provided with an automatic coupling means for automatically coupling a shaft to the steering mechanism.
[0005]
An electromagnetic clutch or a friction clutch is used as the automatic coupling means of the vehicle steering apparatus. The electromagnetic clutch is not excited when the drive means is normal, and torque transmission is interrupted. When the drive means fails, the electromagnetic clutch is energized to transmit torque from the steering shaft to the steering mechanism. It has a configuration.
[0006]
Further, the friction clutch is configured to bring the friction surface into contact with the spring force when the driving means fails, and to release the friction surface when the electromagnet is excited when the driving means is normal.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in a linkless type steering apparatus that does not include an automatic connection means, when the drive means for driving the steering mechanism fails and the steering mechanism cannot be driven by the drive means, the steering is There was a problem that the vehicle could not be moved.
[0008]
In addition, in the linkless type steering apparatus provided with the automatic connection means, when the steering mechanism is driven by the driving means, in other words, when the vehicle is traveling, the driving means for driving the steering mechanism fails. When the steering mechanism cannot be driven by the driving means, the automatic connecting means automatically connects the steering shaft to the steering mechanism. When the vehicle is not traveling, such as when the drive system is not completed and the vehicle is moved during the assembly of the vehicle or when the malfunction of the steering device is found before the completed vehicle is traveling The steering mechanism cannot be driven by the driving means, and the automatic connecting means cannot be operated, which hinders the movement and traveling of the vehicle.
[0009]
An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle steering apparatus that can solve the above-described problems.
[0010]

According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a vehicle steering apparatus including: a steering shaft that is supported by a stationary member without being mechanically coupled to a steering mechanism that changes a direction of a wheel; and steering of a steering unit that is coupled to the steering shaft. Drive means for driving the steering mechanism in response to the operation, and manual connection means for enabling mechanical connection of the steering shaft to the steering mechanism by manual operation when the drive means is inactive . In the vehicle steering apparatus, the manual connection means is screwed into the connection portion provided in each of the steering shaft and the steering mechanism, a female screw provided in one of the connection portions, and the female screw. It is characterized by comprising a male screw and an engaging portion that can be engaged with the male screw and is provided on the other side of the connecting portion .
[0011]
In the first invention, in the linkless type steering apparatus not provided with the automatic connection means, the drive means for driving the steering mechanism fails, or the vehicle is moved during the assembly of the vehicle. When a malfunction of the steering device is found before the vehicle travels, the steering shaft and the steering mechanism can be mechanically connected by operating the manual connection means, and the steering force of the steering means is controlled by the steering shaft. To the steering mechanism via the manual connection means, and the vehicle can be moved or run. Further, since the manual connection means has a structure including a pair of connection portions and one male screw, the number of parts is very small, and it can be provided at a relatively low cost.
In addition, the locking body can be satisfactorily held by screwing the male screw to the female screw, and the male screw is engaged with the engaging portion by rotating the male screw to steer the steering shaft. The mechanism can be mechanically coupled.
[0012]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a vehicle steering apparatus including: a steering shaft that is supported by a stationary member without being mechanically connected to a steering mechanism that changes a direction of a wheel; and steering of a steering unit that is connected to the steering shaft. Drive means for driving the steering mechanism according to the driving means, and automatic connection means for automatically connecting the steering shaft to the steering mechanism when the steering mechanism cannot be driven due to a failure of the drive means. And a manual connection means that enables mechanical connection of the steering shaft to the steering mechanism by manual operation , wherein the manual connection means is provided for each of the steering shaft and the steering mechanism. A connecting portion provided; a female screw provided in one of the connecting portions; a male screw that is screwed to the female screw; the male screw being engageable; and the other of the connecting portions. It is characterized by comprising an engaging portion provided .
[0013]
In the second aspect of the present invention, in the linkless type steering apparatus provided with the automatic connection means, when the drive means for driving the steering mechanism fails, the automatic connection means automatically turns the steering shaft to the steering mechanism. When the vehicle is moved during the assembly of the vehicle, or when the malfunction of the steering device is found before running the completed vehicle, the manual connection means is operated to operate the steering shaft. And the steering mechanism can be mechanically connected, and the steering force of the steering means can be transmitted from the steering shaft to the steering mechanism via the manual connection means, so that the vehicle can be moved or run. .
