上記目的を達成するために、本発明に係る空気調和装置は上面に吸気口と排気口を有するケーシング内を、下部が開口する縦仕切板により吸気口側と排気口側とに区画し、前記縦仕切板の開口下部における吸気口側にエアチャンバを、同排気口側に空気熱交換器をそれぞれ設け、駆動用モータの回転軸にファンが取り付けられて空気を水平に吐出する送風装置の吐出口に吐出短管の一端を取り付け、同吐出短管の他端を前記エアチャンバ内に臨ませて前記空気熱交換器の空気流入側に相対させるとともに、前記空気熱交換器の空気流入側における前記吐出短管から吐出される空気が直接吹き付けられる部分に、この吐出短管から吐出される空気を分散させるための整流板取り付け、また前記駆動用モータを、その回転軸が垂直となるように設けた構造のものとしてある。
