【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、遊技機としてのスロットマシンに関し、特に液晶、７セグメントＬＥＤ、蛍光表示管パネル、ＥＬ素子パネル等からなる表示装置を備えるものに係わる。

【従来の技術】
一般に、スロットマシンは、リール装置等の装置類を収納する筐体の前方開口部に前扉を開閉自在に取り付けてなり、前扉はその表面パネルとして、当たり図柄等が印刷された上部パネルと、リール表示窓及びその他の各種表示部が設けられた中央パネルと、装飾図柄等が印刷された下部パネルとを有している。尚、上部パネルと中央パネルとを一体にした表面パネルを前扉に設けたもの、また上部パネルを筐体側に設けたものなども従来公知である。

また、近年、スロットマシンにおいては、パチンコ機及びその他の遊技機と同様に、遊技内容の複雑化及び多様化に伴ってランプ等の装飾的な表示・報知装置を用いて、遊技状況に応じた種々の表示や報知等を行っている。この表示・報知装置の一つとして、例えば実開平３−５８４７５号公報に開示されるように、前扉の上部パネル等の表面パネルに液晶ディスプレイ（ＬＣＤ）等の表示装置を設けることが提案されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記提案のものは、実用化する上で種々の問題点がある。第１の問題点は取付状態での外力からの保護に関するものである。すなわち、パチンコ機の場合、その可変表示装置として用いられるＬＣＤ等の表示装置は、二重構造の前ガラスの奥に位置し、結果的に前ガラスで保護されているが、スロットマシンの場合、ＬＣＤ等の表示装置を前扉の上部パネル等の表面パネルに直に取り付けるとその表示面が露出することになり、この種の装置自体は余り強度的に強くないので、外力が作用したときに破損等を生じる虞れがあり、これに対し適切な保護処置を施す必要がある。

第２の問題点は表示装置の視認性に関するものである。すなわち、上述の外力に対する保護処置として、例えば表示装置を、リール装置の如く筐体内に配置し、前扉に設けた窓を通して表示装置が遊技者から見えるようにした場合には、表示装置の表示面が前扉の表面パネルからかなり離れて奥まって位置するようになり、その分視認性が悪くなる。また、表示装置を前扉の表面パネルに沿わせて設けた場合には、ホール内の照明灯等の光が表示装置の表示面で反射することから見え難くなるという問題がある。特に、上部パネルには通常周囲に目立たせるためにランプ照明ケース等が突出して設けられており、このケースの下側に表示装置を上部パネルに沿わせて設けた場合にはその表示装置の表示面上部に暗部（陰）が生じて著しく見え難くなる。

本発明はかかる諸点に鑑みてなされたものであり、その課題とするところは、特に、スロットマシンの前面に表示装置を設ける場合にその構造を適切に設定することにより、外力による破損等の防止及び視認性の向上を図り得るようにするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の課題を解決するため、請求項１に係る発明は、筐体と、該筐体の前方開口部に開閉可能に取り付けられる前扉と、該前扉に表示装置を備えるスロットマシンであって、前扉は、上部パネル側に上部ランプ取付板を備え、該上部ランプ取付板は、複数種類の表示装置を選択的に取り付け得るようにそれらを収納可能な大きさの表示装置収納凹部を備えると共に、裏面側には表示装置を駆動制御するための制御基板であって、筐体内に配置されたメイン基板と接続される制御基板を取り付け可能であり、表示装置収納凹部に収納される表示装置は、鉛直方向に対し上端が前方に傾斜して取り付けられており、この表示装置の前方には透光性を有する保護パネルが設けられている構成とする。

この構成では、表示装置の表示面が保護パネルにより覆われて外部に直接露出していないので、それの外力による破損等を防止できることになる。しかも、上記保護パネルは透光性を有するので、表示装置の表示機能に支障を来たすことはない。また、表示装置は鉛直方向に対し上端が前方に傾斜しているため、ホール内の照明灯等の光が表示装置に入射し難くなっており、表示装置の視認性が効果的に高くなる。さらに、種々の表示装置が選択されて上部ランプ取付板上の表示装置収納凹部内に取り付けられる。その場合、表示装置を駆動制御するための制御基板は上部ランプ取付板の裏面側に取り付けられる。

請求項１記載の発明において、保護パネルを表示装置の表示面と平行に設けてもよい（請求項２）。

また、請求項１または２記載の発明において、表示装置を上部パネルの中央部でかつその裏面側に設け、かかる上部パネルに保護パネルとしての機能を備えさせることにより（請求項３）、表示装置が遊技者の視線方向の略真上でかつ前傾状態に設けられて表示面の法線方向が遊技者の視線方向に近づくようになっていることに加えて、表示装置がＬＣＤの場合その視覚範囲との関係でも表示装置の視認性がより一層高くなる。しかも、既存の上部パネルが保護パネルとして透光性を有した上で、表示装置の表示面を保護するようになっているので、部品点数がその分少なくて済むことになる。請求項３記載の発明においては、上記上部ランプ取付板は、上記表示装置収納凹部の左右両側にはランプ取付凹部を備えると共に、表示装置収納凹部及びランプ取付凹部の周辺部には上記上部パネルを取り付けるためのパネル取付段部を備え、上部パネルは、表示装置の表示面と対向する部分に透光性を有する構成を採用することができる（請求項４）。

さらに、請求項１〜４のいずれかに記載の発明において、上記表示装置の傾斜角度を鉛直方向に対して３〜１５度の範囲内の角度とすれば（請求項５）、好都合である。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面に基づいて説明する。図１及び図２は本発明の実施形態に係るスロットマシンＡを示す。このスロットマシンＡは、リール装置やホッパー装置等の装置類を収納する筐体１と、この筐体１の前方開口部にヒンジ２（図３参照）を介して開閉可能に取り付けられた前扉３とを備えてなる。

上記前扉３は、アルミニウム等の金属を鋳造し、あるいは樹脂成型して枠本体１０を構成し、この枠本体１０に表面パネルとして上部パネル１１、中央パネル１２及び下部パネル１３をそれぞれ取り付けてなる。中央パネル１２には、その中央部に３つのリールが透けて見えるリール表示窓１５が設けられているとともに、このリール表示窓１５の周囲にクレジット枚数表示部１６、払出枚数表示部１７及び役物当選回数表示部１８等が設けられている。この中央パネル１２と装飾模様を施してなる下部パネル１３との間にはスタートレバー２１及び停止ボタン２２等の遊技操作具が設けられており、下部パネル１３の下方にはメダル払出口２６、メダル受け皿２７及びスピーカー２８等が設けられている。

上記前扉３の裏面側には、図３に示すように、中央パネル１２のリール表示窓１５の周囲にクレジット枚数表示部１６等の表示部を構成する電気部品及び遊技操作具のリード線などを収納する電気部品類ボックス３１が設けられているとともに、下部パネル１３の対応してその照明灯を収納する照明灯ボックス３２が設けられている。また、スピーカー２８を収納するスピーカーボックス３３及びメダル払出口２６からメダルの払い出しなどを行うためのメダル通路３４等も設けられている。

そして、本発明の特徴点として、前扉３の上部パネル１１の裏面側にその中央部に面して表示装置４１又は４２が設けられており、特に本実施形態では、表示装置として、図４及び図５に示すように液晶ディスプレイ（ＬＣＤ）４１を用いた場合と、図６及び図７に示すように７セグメント表示装置４２を用いた場合とをスロットマシンＡの遊技内容に応じて選択できる構成になっている。

上記液晶ディスプレイ４１は、奥行きの比較的小さい箱型のユニットケース４４の前面に矩形状の液晶パネル４５を設けたものであり、ユニットケース４４の裏面には、図８及び図９に拡大詳示するように、四隅部に各々ネジ止め穴４６が設けられているとともに、上部に略矩形状の放熱部４７が突出して形成されている。また、放熱部４７の右隣りにデータ転送用ケーブル４８の一端が接続されており、このケーブル４８の他端にはコネクタ４９が設けられている。

上記７セグメント表示装置４２は、図１０及び図１１に拡大詳示するように、矩形状の基板５１に３つのＬＥＤ表示部５２ａ，５２ｂ，５２ｃを横一列に設けてなり、各ＬＥＤ表示部５２ａ〜５２ｃは、それぞれ数字「０」〜「９」を表示する部分（つまり数字表示部）を構成する７つのセグメント５３ａ，５３ｂ，５３ｃ，５３ｄ，５３ｅ，５３ｆ，５３ｇと、数字の影を表示する部分（つまり影表示部）を構成する７つのセグメント５４ａ，５４ｂ，５４ｃ，５４ｄ，５４ｅ，５４ｆ，５４ｇとを有する。そして、数字表示部の各セグメント５３ａ〜５３ｇは赤色、緑色及び青色の各発光ダイオードを内蔵して７色に変化可能に設けられている一方、影表示部の各セグメント５４ａ〜５４ｇは単一色（例えば黄色）の発光ダイオードのみを内蔵している。基板５１の四隅部にはそれぞれ取付ネジ５５を挿入する挿入孔５６が設けられているとともに、基板５１の下辺部にはコネクタ５７が裏面側に突出して設けられている。

ここで、液晶ディスプレイ４１による表示内容としては、
▲１▼ 残りの１図柄でボーナス入賞する可能性になったときの、いわゆるテンパイ状態時に入賞の期待感を盛り上げる演出画面（アニメやキャラクタ出現を含む。）、
▲２▼ ボーナス入賞発生時における演出と入賞ライン・図柄の表示画面、
▲３▼ リ一ル回転開始後の内部抽選結果により当たりフラグが成立したことを知らせるフラグ告知演出画面、

▲５▼ いわゆる引き込み制御なしで行われるチャレンジタイムゲーム中でのゲーム数カウント表示、
▲６▼ ボーナスゲーム中での純増枚数カウント表示、
▲７▼ 当日あるいは数日間の消費枚数−入賞発生回数などのスランプグラフ表示、などである。また、７セグメント表示装置４２による表示内容は、液晶ディスプレイ４１のような画像演出はできないが、上記▲１▼〜▲７▼である。

一方、前扉３の上部パネル１１側においては、樹脂成型品である上部ランプ板６１が枠本体１０の一部を構成しており、この上部ランプ板６１は、図１２及び図１３にも示すように、中央部に２種類の表示装置つまり液晶ディスプレイ４１及び７セグメント表示装置４２を選択的に取り付け得るようにそれらを収納可能な大きさの表示装置収納凹部６２を有し、また左右両側にそれぞれ第１ランプ取付凹部６３及び第２ランプ取付凹部６４を有しており、ランプ板としての機能と共に表示装置取付用枠材としての機能を兼備している。表示装置収納凹部６２及び左右二つの第１ランプ取付凹部６３，６３は、それらの凹み寸法が第２ランプ取付凹部６４のそれよりも大きく設定されているとともに、それらの周辺部には前面よりも一段凹んだパネル取付段部６５が形成され、このパネル取付段部６５上に上部パネル１１が当接されかつ上部パネル枠８１により固定されている。

上記パネル取付段部６５には上部パネル１１の中心線上２個所及び左右両側４個所にそれぞれ係合孔６６，６６，・・・が形成されている。一方、上記上部パネル枠８１は、図１４（ａ）及び（ｂ）に拡大詳示するように、パネル取付段部６５の形状に対応した枠型に形成されているとともに、中心線上２個所及び左右両側４個所にそれぞれ係合片８２，８２，・・・を有している。そして、パネル取付段部６５上に上部パネル１１を介在して上部パネル枠８１を押し当て、その各係合片８２をパネル取付段部６５の各々対応する係合孔６６に挿入係合することにより、上部パネル１１が上部パネル枠８１によりパネル取付段部６５上に固定されるようになっている。

また、上記表示装置収納凹部６２の左右両側方にはそれに隣接してそれぞれパネル取付段部６５より更に一段凹んだスモーク板取付段部６８が形成されている。表示装置収納凹部６２の底面には、四隅部にそれぞれ液晶ディスプレイ４１のネジ止め穴４６に対応した取付部としてのネジ挿入孔部７１と７セグメント表示装置４２の挿入孔５６に対応した取付部としてのネジ孔部７２とが設けられているとともに、左側上部に液晶コネクタ開口７３が、右側上部から中央部に跨って液晶放熱開口７４が、下部に７セグコネクタ開口７５がそれぞれ設けられている。

そして、上部パネル１１の裏面側に液晶ディスプレイ４１を設ける場合には、図４及び図５に示すように、液晶ディスプレイ４１を上部ランプ板６１の表示装置収納凹部６２内に収納し、液晶ディスプレイ４１のデータ転送用ケーブル４８及びコネクタ４９を収納凹部６２底面の液晶コネクタ開口７３より上部ランプ板６１の裏面側に取り出すとともに、液晶ディスプレイ４１の放熱部４７を液晶放熱開口７４に面して配置し、この状態で上部ランプ板６１の裏面側から４つの取付ネジ７７，７７，・・・をそれぞれネジ挿入孔部７１を通して液晶ディスプレイ４１のユニットケース４５のネジ止め穴４６にねじ込むことにより液晶デイスプレイ４１が上部ランプ板６１に取り付けられ、この液晶ディスプレイ４１の表示面側（つまり液晶パネル４５側）を覆って上部パネル１１が上部パネル枠８１により上部ランプ板６１に装着される。尚、図５中、８３は液晶ディスプレイ４１の液晶パネル４５周囲と上部パネル１１との間に設けられたクッション材である。

また、上部パネル１１の裏面側に７セグメント表示装置４２を設ける場合には、図６及び図７に示すように、７セグメント表示装置４２を上部ランプ板６１の表示装置収納凹部６２内に収納し、７セグメント表示装置４２のコネクタ５７を収納凹部６２底面の７セグコネクタ開口７５より上部ランプ板６１の裏面側に突出させ、この状態で上部ランプ板６１の表面側から４つの取付ネジ５５，５５，・・・をそれぞれ７セグメント表示装置４２の基板５１の挿入孔５６を通して収納凹部６２底面のネジ孔部７２にねじ込むことにより７セグメント表示装置４２が上部ランプ板６１に取り付けられる。この７セグメント表示装置４２の前方に、セグメント表示以外を暗くしてセグメント表示を目立つようにするためのスモーク板８４がその左右両側を上部ランプ板６１のスモーク板取付段部６８，６８に当接して配置されるとともに、このスモーク板８４の表面側と接触して上部パネル１１が上部パネル枠８１により上部ランプ板６１に装着される。

上記液晶ディスプレイ４１及び７セグメント表示装置４２は、上部ランプ板６１ひいては前扉３に対する取付状態では鉛直方向に対し上端が前方に傾斜して設けられており、その傾斜角は３〜１５度の範囲であり、本実施形態では約５度である。また、これらの表示装置４１，４２に対応して、その前方に位置する上部パネル１１も上端が前方に傾斜した前傾状態で上部パネル板６１に装着されている。

上記上部ランプ板６１の第１ランプ取付凹部６３の底面には２つのランプ取付孔８６，８６が設けられ、この各取付孔８６にランプ８７が取り付けられており、このランプ８７を覆って上部パネル１１が装着される。また、上部ランプ板６１の第２ランプ取付凹部６４の底面にも２つのランプ取付孔８８，８８が設けられ、この各取付孔８８にもランプ８９が取り付けられている。このランプ８９を覆うランプ照明ケース９０が第２ランプ取付凹部６４に嵌合して装着されており、このランプ照明ケース９０の前面は上部ランプ板６１の前面よりも前方に突出
している（図２参照）。

上記上部パネル１１は、表示装置４１又は４２の前方に位置してそれを保護する保護パネルとしての機能を有するアクリル樹脂等の合成樹脂製のもので、これを領域に分けると、図１５に拡大詳示するように、上部ランプ板６１のパネル取付段部６５に当接する周縁部１１ａと、上部ランプ板６１の表示装置収納凹部６２に対向する中央部１１ｂと、上部ランプ板６１の各第１ランプ取付凹部６３に対向する左右の側部１１ｃ，１１ｃとからなる。各側部１１ｃの裏面側には当たり図柄等が印刷されており、第１ランプ取付凹部６３のランプ８７の点灯時にその当たり図柄等が上部パネル１１を通して見えるようになっている。また、中央部１１ｂの、特に表示装置４１又は４２の表示面（つまり液晶ディスプレイ４１の場合は液晶パネル４５、７セグメント表示装置４２の場合はスモーク板８４）に対向する部分１１ｄ又は１１ｅは、表示装置４１又は４２の表示面が外部に見えるように透光性を有している。

さらに、上記上部ランプ板６１の表示装置収納凹部６２の裏面側には、図３に示すように、表示装置４１又は４２を駆動制御する制御基板９１がネジ止めにより取り付けられている。この制御基板９１は、表示装置に液晶ディスプレイ４１を用いる場合は収納凹部６２裏面の液晶コネクタ開口７３より下側位置に取り付けられ、表示装置に７セグメント表示装置４２を用いる場合は図３に示す如く収納凹部６２裏面の７セグコネクタ開口７５及びこの開口７５から突出するコネクタ５７より上側位置に取り付けられる。制御基板９１の下部には筐体１内に配置されたメイン基板（図示せず）と接続するためのコネクタ９２が設けられているとともに、制御基板９１の左右両側にはそれぞれ上部パネル板６１の第１及び第２ランプ取付凹部６３，６４の各ランプ８７，８９と接続するための電源ケーブル９３のコネクタ９４が設けられている。

従って、上記スロットマシンＡにおいては、その前扉３の上部パネル１１の裏面側に表示装置４１又は４２を設け、上部パネル１１により表示装置４１又は４２の表示面を保護しているため、それの外力による破損等を防止することができる。しかも、上部パネル１１の表示装置４１又は４２の表示面に対向する部分１１ｄ又は１１ｅは、表示装置４１又は４２の表示面が外部に見えるように透光性を有しているので、表示装置４１又は４２の表示機能に支障を来たすことがないばかりでなく、表示装置の視認性を高めることができる。また、上部パネル１１及び表示装置４１又は４２は、鉛直方向に対し上端が前方に傾斜しているため、ホール内の照明灯等の光が上部パネル１１等に入射し難くなっており、表示装置４１又は４２の視認性を効果的に高めることができる。

その上、表示装置４１又は４２は、上部パネル１１の中央部という遊技中の遊技者の視線方向であるリール表示窓１５の略真上に位置しているため、特に表示装置に液晶ディスプレイ４１を用いた場合でも視認性を良好に確保することができる。すなわち、液晶ディスプレイ４１の場合、図１６に示すように、液晶分子の配向特性に起因して液晶パネル４５のいわゆる６時と１２時の方向に優先視角方向を有する。従って、遊技者の視線方向の略真上に位置する液晶ディスプレイ４１の場合、その６時の方向を優先視角方向に設定すれば遊技者からは液晶パネル４５が最もよく見えることになる。しかも、上記液晶ディスプレイ４１は鉛直方向に対し上端が前方に傾斜しているため、図１７（ａ）及び（ｂ）を比較すればよく分かるように、液晶パネル４５の法線方向ないし６時と１２時の方向の視覚範囲の中心線Ｌが遊技者の視線方向に近づくようになり、視認性の向上をより一層図ることができる。

さらに、上記スロットマシンＡでは、その遊技内容に応じて、上部ランプ板６１の表示装置収納凹部６２に液晶ディスプレイ４１及び７セグメント表示装置４２のいずれか一方を選択的に取り付けて使用することができるので、製造コストの低廉化等に寄与することができる。特に、本実施形態では、上部ランプ板６１は樹脂成型品であり、その製造のための金型も一つで足りるので、製造コストの低廉化をより図ることができる。

加えて、上記上部ランプ板６１の表示装置収納凹部６２の裏面側に表示装置４１又は４２を制御する制御基板９１を取り付けたことにより、制御基板９１の配置に伴って筐体１内での装置類の配置レイアウトを変更する必要はなく、実施化を容易に図ることができる。しかも、前扉３を開けることで表側から制御基板９１の点検等を容易に行うことができ、作業性の向上を図ることができる。

図１８及び図１９は第１の参考例に係るスロットマシンＢを示す。このスロットマシンＢの場合、前扉３の中央パネル１２のリール表示窓１５から右斜め上の部位の裏側に表示装置として液晶ディスプレイ１０１が設けられており、この液晶ディスプレイ１０１は、鉛直方向に対し上端が前方に傾斜して前扉３の枠本体１０に取り付けられている。一方、中央パネル１２は、液晶ディスプレイ１０１の前方に位置してそれを保護する保護パネルとしての機能を有するアクリル樹脂等の合成樹脂からなり、この中央パネル１２の液晶ディスプレイ１０１に対向する部分は、液晶ディスプレイ１０１の表示面が外部に見えるように透光性を有している。

尚、上部パネル１１１は、上記実施形態における上部パネル１１とは異なり、鉛直状態で前扉３の枠本体１０に取り付けられ、その裏面に当たり図柄等を印刷するだけの構成になっている。この上部パネル１１１の上方にランプ照明ケース１１２が上部パネル１１１よりも前方に突出して設けられている。スロットマシンＢのその他の構成は、上記実施形態におけるスロットマシンＡと同じであり、同一部材には同一符号を付してその説明は省略する。

そして、上記スロットマシン３においても、前扉３の中央パネル１２のリール表示窓１５より上方位置でかつ中央パネル１２の裏面側に液晶ディスプレイ１０１を設けるとともに、中央パネル１２の液晶ディスプレイ１０１に対向する部分を、液晶ディスプレイ１０１の表示面が外部に見えるように透光性を有する構成としたことにより、上記実施形態におけるスロットマシンＡの場合と同様に、液晶ディスプレイ１０１の破損等の防止化を図ることができるとともに、液晶ディスプレイ１０１の視認性の向上を図ることができるなどの効果を奏するのは勿論である。

図２０及び図２１は第２の参考例に係るスロットマシンＣを示す。このスロットマシンＣの場合、その筐体２０１の前面には、その上部に上部パネル２１１が設けられているとともに、上部パネル２１１より下側の前方開口部に前扉２０３が開閉自在に取り付けられている。また、筐体２０１の右側壁には大型のスタートレバー２２１が設けられている。

上記前扉２０３は、その枠本体２１０に表面パネルとして中央パネル２１２及び下部パネル２１３を取り付けてなる。中央パネル２１２の中央部には３つのリール２１４，２１４，２１４が透けて見えるリール表示窓２１５が設けられている。この中央パネル２１２と装飾模様を施してなる下部パネル２１３との間には停止ボタン２２２等のスタートレバー２２１以外の遊技操作具が設けられており、下部パネル２１３の下方にはメダル払出口２２６、メダル受け皿２２７及びスピーカー２２８等が設けられている。

上記筐体２０１の上部パネル２１１の中央部でかつその裏面側に表示装置として大型（１０インチ程度）の液晶ディスプレイ２４１が設けられており、この液晶ディスプレイ２４１は、鉛直方向に対し上端が前方に傾斜して筐体２０１に取り付けられている。一方、上部パネル２１１は、液晶ディスプレイ２４１の前方でそれと平行に位置してそれを保護する保護パネルとしての機能を有するアクリル樹脂等の合成樹脂からなり、この上部パネル２１１の液晶ディスプレイ２４１に対向する部分は、液晶ディスプレイ２４１の表示面が外部に見えるように透光性を有している。尚、上部パネル２１１の液晶ディスプレイ２４１に対向しない部分の裏面には当たり図柄等が印刷されている。また、液晶ディスプレイ２４１の前方傾斜角は、上記実施形態における表示装置４１又は４２のそれと比べて、表示面が大きくかつリール表示窓２１５との間の距離が長いことから大きく設定されている。
