本発明は、車両に用いる薄型の流体フィルタ装置に関する。例えば、オートマチックトランスミッション内に充填される作動油に対する流体フィルタ装置に適用できる。

オートマチック式のトランスミッションを備えた自動車において、ミッション内に充填された作動油を濾過するために流体フィルタ装置が用いられている。この種の流体フィルタ装置はミッションケースの下部の狭いスペースに設置する必要から、扁平形状に構成される。図6はそのフィルタ装置の一例を示している。

このフィルタ装置は、鉄板製のケース要素1、2と、フィルタガイド3と、フィルタエレメント4とを有している。フィルタエレメント4は、フィルタガイド3とケース要素2とに対して接着剤により接着され、ケース要素1、2はそれらの外周で互いに接合されている。

従来の流体フィルタ装置は、各構成部品が別々の工程で製造されているために、接着工程が必要であり、部品数も多く製作工程が複雑である。また、接着剤を用いた接着では液密性が不安定であるという問題点がある。

そこで、本発明は、部品点数の削減によるコストの低減が可能で、かつ、液密性の高いオートマチック車両用の薄形の流体フィルタ装置を提供することを目的とする。

以下、本発明について説明する。なお、本発明の理解を容易にするために添付図面の参照符号を括弧書きにて付記するが、それにより本発明が図示の形態に限定されるものではない。

請求項1の発明の流体フィルタ装置は、樹脂製の一対のケース要素(10A、10B)を組み合わせて構成されるフィルタケース(10)と、前記一対のケース要素(10A、10B)間に挟まれて前記フィルタケース(10)内をダーティサイド(S1)とクリーンサイド(S2)とに区分するフィルタエレメント(20)とを具備し、前記ダーティサイド(S1)から前記クリーンサイド(S2)に向けて自動変速機用のオイルを通過させて、このオイルを濾過する車両用の流体フィルタ装置であって、フィルタエレメント(20)は、流体を濾過するためのエレメント本体(21)と、エレメント本体(21)の外周を取り囲み、外周縁にフレームフランジ(22a)が形成された樹脂製の保持部材(22)とを有し、前記エレメント本体は、所定の濾材を山部と谷部が交互に配置されるようひだ折りされて構成され、前記保持部材(22)はエレメント本体(21)をインサートとする射出成形によりエレメント本体(21)と一体化され、前記フレームフランジ(22a)が前記ケース要素(10A,10B)の外周縁であるケース要素フランジ(14A,14B)の間に挟まれた状態で前記一対のケース要素の外周であるケース要素フランジ(14A,14B)が全周に亘って溶着されたことを特徴とする。この発明によれば、部品点数を削減し、かつ、樹脂による形成が可能なのでコストを低減できる。また、エレメント本体(21)と保持部材(22)とが一体に形成されるので高い液密性が得られる。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1〜図5は本発明が適用されたフィルタ装置を示している。このフィルタ装置は、樹脂製のフィルタケース10と、その内部に装着されてフィルタケース10内をダーティサイドS1とクリーンサイドS2とに区分するフィルタエレメント20とを有している。フィルタケース10は、樹脂製の一対のケース要素10A、10Bを組み合わせて構成される。一方のケース要素10Aは、ダーティサイドS1に作動油を導くための流入管11と、フィルタケース10をミッションケース等に固定するための取付孔12とを有している。他方のケース要素10Bは、クリーンサイドS2から作動油を送り出すための流出管13を有している。各ケース要素10A、10Bの外周には、両者を全周に亘って接合するためのフランジ14A、14Bがそれぞれ形成されている。

以上に説明したように、本発明の流体フィルタ装置によれば、濾材をインサートとする射出成形方法により前記濾材と前記濾材の保持部材とを一体化することによって、部品点数の削減に基づくコストの低減と、高い液密性を有する薄型の流体フィルタ装置が実現できる。
