Description
【0001】
a.CD−Iシステムの概要

【0013】
a.CD−Iシステムの概要
【0043】

The present invention relates to a CD-I system.Playback apparatus and playback methodAbout.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The CD-I system is a system that can record image data and audio data and can perform processing interactively with a user. The CD-I system can be used for various services. For example, a restaurant has different menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If an image and explanation of the cooking menu are recorded on the CD-I disc, a cooking menu screen can be displayed at the time of breakfast, lunch and dinner. And a user can display each dish interactively and can know the contents.
[0003]
When producing such a CD-I disc, it is conventionally necessary to develop a dedicated application program for each disc. That is, for example, in the case of a CD-I disc of a restaurant menu, a dedicated application program that meets such requirements has been created. This application program runs on a real-time operating system for CD-I. Then, image data and audio data such as a cooking menu image and its description are taken in, and these image data and audio data are managed and edited by this dedicated application program.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
CD-I is basically a read-only recording medium. Therefore, conventionally, it is difficult for a user to create a program or re-edit the program. For example, in a restaurant menu, a menu limited by the sales location may be prepared, or a special menu for the day may be prepared. When the cooking menu is changed in this way, it is desired that the user can easily edit the program and cope with it.

Conventionally, when a CD-I disc is developed, a dedicated application program corresponding to the use must be developed for each disc as described above. Therefore, there is a problem that it takes a long time to develop the disc. That is, the CD-I system operates on a dedicated real-time operating system, and conventionally, it is necessary to develop an application program on the real-time operating system. Furthermore, in CD-I, for error correction coding, it is expanded into frames and interleaved, so it is indispensable to simulate the developed program with an image on a disk. When a dedicated application program is developed for each disk, debugging in such a simulation is very difficult.
[0006]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to reproduce files recorded on an optical disc in an arbitrary order.Playback apparatus and playback methodIs to provide.
[0008]

[0010]
In the present invention, a scene file and a management editing program for managing and editing the scene file are recorded on the CD-I disc. With this management editing program, the user can easily edit the order and effects of each scene.
[0011]
Also, by using this management editing program, it is not necessary to develop an application program for each disk when creating a CD-I disk, and a CD-I disk can be created easily in a short time.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Embodiments of the present invention will be described in the following order.
a. Overview of the CD-I system
b. Overview of CD-I player
c. Disc overview
d. Operation explanation
e. Explanation of each screen
[0013]
a. Overview of the CD-I system
First, the CD-I system will be described. On the CD-I disc, in addition to audio data, data such as image data (natural images, animation, computer graphics data, etc.), text data, computer programs, etc. are recorded together.
[0014]
Various specifications are predetermined for the CD-I disc. That is, physical characteristics such as the size, refractive index, and track pitch of the disk, optical characteristics, and electrical characteristics are made equal to those of a general music CD (CD-DA). In a CD-I disc, recording and reproduction are performed in units of blocks (sectors) consisting of 98 frames. The size of this block corresponds to a general CD subcode block.
[0015]
Forms of blocks include
[0016]
Furthermore, following the subheader, 2048 bytes of user data, 4 bytes of error detection code, 172 bytes of P parity code, and 104 bytes of Q parity code make error correction even more powerful than CD-DA discs. It has become. Therefore, it is suitable for data that cannot be interpolated during reproduction, such as text data and programs.
[0017]
In
[0018]
The audio data has the following four modes. That is, in the first mode, the audio data is written with a standard equal to the current CD, that is, the sampling frequency is 44.1 kHz and the number of quantization bits is 16 bits. Therefore, according to this mode, a sound quality equal to that of the current CD can be obtained.
[0019]
The second, third, and fourth modes are called A, B, and C modes, respectively, and audio signals are compressed and recorded by ADPCM (adaptive differential PCM). In the A mode, the sampling frequency is 37.8 kHz, the number of bits is 8 bits, in the B mode, the sampling frequency is 37.8 kHz, the number of bits is 4, and in the C mode, the sampling frequency is 18.9 kHz, and the number of bits is 4 bits. . Therefore, according to the A to C modes, the sound quality is inferior in order, but the recording and reproduction time can be increased to 2, 4, and 8 hours.
[0020]
In the case of image data, there are the following three modes. That is, the first mode is used when the image data is natural image data. In this mode, the luminance signal and the color signal are digitized at 8 bits at 7.6 kHz and 3.8 kHz, respectively. Each data is compressed into 4 bits and written. In the second mode, it is used when the image is animation data. In this mode, the original data is compressed and recorded using a run-length code. In the third mode, R, G, and B graphics that use red, green, and blue absolute values and a CLUT (color lookup table) that uses a color correspondence table are used. The CLUT has three modes of 8 bits, 7 bits, and 4 bits, and a necessary color can be selected from 16 million colors.
[0021]
A TOC (Table of Contents) is provided in the lead-in of the CD-I disc, and whether or not the disc is a CD-I disc can be identified from the TOC information.
[0022]
In CD-I, the specifications and operating system of the CPU used for control are determined in advance. A 68000 system CPU is used as the control CPU. A dedicated real-time operating system is used as the operating system.
