従来より、例えば墓石や墓誌などの石材、金属材料、コンクリート、或いは木質系材料などの被加工物に、文字、図形、符号、記号或いは模様等を刻設する方法として、砂又は粒状の研磨材を圧縮空気などを用いて被加工物に高速にて吹き付けて刻設するサンドブラスト法が多用されている。

このようなサンドブラスト法を用いて、文字や図形等を刻設する場合、文字等を構成する部位以外を被覆保護するために、不透明なゴムシートから形成されたマスキングシート層と、該マスキングシート層の一面側に設けられた接着層とを有し、文字等の刻設部位のマスキングシート層および接着層を除去可能なサンドブラスト用マスキングシートが被加工物の表面に貼付される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、従来のサンドブラスト用マスキングシートは不透明なため、被加工物に貼付する際の位置合わせが困難で、被加工物の縦横に多数の線引きを施すなどして入念に行わなければならず、熟練を要する者でもかなりの手間と時間を要し、作業効率上著しく不具合があった。特に、墓石や墓誌などに刻設される文字は特殊な不定形文字が使用されるため、線引き作業のみで刻設部位を選定できず、石材全体に対するバランスを観ながら行う必要がある。また、墓誌のように既設文字が存在する場合には、それらとの位置関係も十分考慮しなければならず、マスキングシートにより既設文字が被覆されてしまうと、刻設部位がずれてしまうことがあり、その場合は既設文字も含めて全ての文字を刻設し直さなければならなかった。さらに、被加工物に複数の疵がある場合は、できる限りそれらの部位が研削されるように位置合わせすることが望ましく、不透明なマスキングシートでは、そのような微妙な位置調整が極めて困難であった。さらに、被加工物の表面全体を被覆する場合は不透明なシートでは位置合わせが極めて困難であった。

上記課題を解決するものは、透明或いは半透明なシート材にて形成されたマスキングシート層と、該マスキングシート層の一面側に設けられ透明或いは半透明な材料にて形成された接着層と、該接着層を被覆し透明或いは半透明なシート材にて形成された剥離シート層とを有していることを特徴とするサンドブラスト用マスキングシートである。前記マスキングシート層は、文字等に沿って切断して構成された除去部を有していてもよい。

請求項1に記載した発明によれば、被加工物に貼付する際の最適部位への位置合わせを、熟練を要することなく極めて容易かつ迅速に行うことができると共に、剥離シート層を付したまま、接着層全体が露呈しない状態で位置合わせを行うことができ、最適貼付部位への微調整の際にマスキングシート層が接着層を介して付着してしまうことがなく、貼付作業がより容易なものとなる。
請求項2に記載した発明によれば、上記請求項1の効果に加え、被加工物の表面に多数の疵が存在する場合でも、疵ができる限り除去部内に位置するように微調整することで、疵が研削されるよう配慮することができる。
請求項3に記載した発明によれば、被加工物に貼付する際の最適部位への位置合わせを、熟練を要することなく極めて容易かつ迅速に行うことができると共に、剥離シート層を付したまま、接着層全体が露呈しない状態で位置合わせを行うことができ、最適貼付部位への微調整の際にマスキングシート層が接着層を介して付着してしまうことがなく、貼付作業がより容易なものとなる。さらに、被加工物の表面に多数の疵が存在する場合でも、疵ができる限り除去部内に位置するように微調整することで、疵が研削されるよう配慮することができる。
