本発明は、台車上で火葬する主燃焼室の前壁に防火扉を有し、後壁に主バーナーを備えている火葬炉に関する。

この種の火葬炉での火葬状況を見ると、一般には火葬完了までに要する時間は約70〜100分程度である。その経過の内訳は、棺などの易可燃物は火葬開始から約10分間で焼却され、遺体は火葬開始から約60分で遺骨となるが、遺体の内臓など灰化される難燃物が未だ火葬されず、その火葬には約40分も掛かっているのが現状であって全火葬時間の約40%を占めている。しかしこの難燃物は全て灰化されるもので、その灰は収骨されることなく処分されるのが一般的であり、このような難燃物の火葬のために時間が掛かり過ぎ、またその間の燃料の消費も全体の消費量の約半分も費やすという問題点があった。そこで本発明は以上の問題を解決することにある。

本発明による解決手段は、台車上で火葬する主燃焼室の前壁に防火扉を有し、後壁に主バーナーを備えている火葬炉において、灰化される難燃物を焼却するのに必要な容積を持つ補助燃焼室を、主燃焼室の側壁より室外側に突出され主燃焼室内と連続した状態で設け、該補助燃焼室に補助バーナーを設けていることを特徴とする。

【作用】
以上のように補助燃焼室を主燃焼室に連続して設けているから、火葬の最終段階で残された未燃の難燃物をデレッキなどで補助燃焼室へ移し入れ、補助バーナーで焼却するもので、その際、難燃物の量は平均的に約2g〜5g程度であるから、補助燃焼室はその量に応じた小さな容積で充分であり、このように小さな容積で火葬することができ、しかも補助バーナーを難燃物に近付けることができることから、難燃物といえども迅速に火葬を終了することができるようになる。

尚、上記のように遺体の難燃物を移し変える作業は、遺族には知られないといえども遺体の尊厳上問題があるが、遺骨と異なり全て灰化され収骨されないものであり、逆に火葬の時間が短縮されることから、遺族からも許される火葬手段であろう。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明を実施形態によって説明すると、図1と図2に示しているように、台車3を挿入して火葬する主燃焼室1の上に再燃焼室2を備え、主燃焼室1の前壁4に防火扉5を設け、後壁6には主バーナー7と後看視口8とが設けてあり、また再燃焼室2に副バーナー9を設けている構造は従来の火葬炉と変わりがないが、上記主燃焼室1の一方の側壁10より室外側に向かって補助燃焼室11を突設するものである。

更に詳説すると、主燃焼室1の側壁10に開口部12を、その下面が台車3の上面とほぼ同じ高さに設け、開口部12に連続して側壁10の室外側に向かって突設された天壁13、底壁14及び周壁15で包囲して補助燃焼室11を形成するものである。しかも補助燃焼室11の容積は、難燃物のみを火葬するものであるから、その容積は0.03乃至0.1m3 程度もあれば充分である。
また補助燃焼室11の設置位置は、主燃焼室1の前後方向のほぼ中央部に設けることが良策であるが、必ずしも中央に限ることがなく、中央部よりやや前側寄り、あるいは後側寄りに設けてあっても良いが、極端に防火扉5寄りや主バーナー7寄りに設ける必要はない。

【発明の効果】
本発明による火葬炉によれば、主燃焼室より室外側に突出され主燃焼室内と連続する補助燃焼室を設け、補助燃焼室に補助バーナーを備えたもので、この補助燃焼室で主燃焼室内の被火葬体中に有する難燃物を取り出して、被火葬体とは別個に火葬できるように設けるものであるから、補助燃焼室内の容積を難燃物を火葬するのに必要な小さい室内をもって構築すれば良く、このように小さい室内で処理されることから、室内の昇温効率が高くなり、補助バーナーの火炎による衝突力が大きくなることから、その焼却時間が従来の主燃焼室内で行われる場合の時間と比較して大幅に短縮されるものである。
