【発明の実施の形態】
図について説明すると、1はハンドル2の先端に設けたレンチ本体で、表面に長円形の凹入部3を形成し、本体1の長手方向に沿う中心線l上に回転子4を取付け、回転子4と一体の角軸5を本体1の裏面の孔6に挿入すると角軸5の先は本体1より突出する。そして角軸5に横穴7を形成し、これにコイルばね9を入れスチールボール10を受け止める。又凹入部3の縁に、係止爪11,12を突設した枢軸13,14が入る嵌合凹欠15を中心線lと一致する位置に形成する

図5、図6に示すように枢軸13,14は1本を重ねて用いるように同形で、それぞれ係止爪11,12を一体に突設し、又一側に偏して突出し、両枢軸13,14は逆にして重ね嵌合凹欠15に挿入し、複数の爪先11a,12aを形成して、両係止爪11,12は回転子4のラチェット歯17に噛み合う。即ち従来のように単一の歯が噛み合うのに比べ回転子4への噛み合い作用は確実となる。更に中心線l上に左右の係止爪11,12に作用させたコイルばね20,21に抗して切換えるカム19を枢着し、係止爪の一方から他方に切換えれば回転方向は変わる。尚図中22は凹入部3に施すカバーを示す。

【発明の効果】
本発明によれば、両係止爪の枢軸は中心一箇所であるから、従来の左右2軸に比べ構造は簡単化され、しかも左右2本の係止爪及びその枢軸は同一構造の一本を逆に使用することにより組立られるため、極めて有利である。
