本発明は、用紙上に複数の同一画像が印刷された大判模様印刷物(印刷済枚葉紙)の印刷状態を検査する印刷状態検査装置及び印刷状態検査方法に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、紙幣等の複写禁止原稿を画像認識又は読み取りする方法として、特願平7−165532号のような画像処理装置及び画像処理方法があるが、この方法は完全に乾燥した同一の紙幣画像が複数印刷された大判模様印刷物(以下、多面化大判紙という。)を単一の紙幣に断裁した小切れ券を対象とし、読み取り対象である原稿を手作業により正規位置に位置合わせした後、原稿の画像を認識し画像の良否を判定していた。また、接触式であるため、印刷直後の十分に乾燥していない用紙を検査する場合は、原稿を汚してしまうという問題があった。

また、認識対象原稿が小切れ券であるため、多面化大判紙の各小切れ券の画像の一括認識は不可能であり、多面化大判紙の良否の判別時間も長くなり、その結果、各多面化大判紙の印刷状態を管理する(印刷状態管理機能)ことが難しいという問題があった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は、前記問題点を解決するため、複数の多面化大判紙の中から指定された検査対象の未乾燥の多面化大判紙を取り出し、吸着しながら載置板上に載置し、この多面化大判紙の画像及び位置決めマークを非接触で読み取り、位置決めマークの座標位置から読み取った画像を正確且つ迅速に位置補正し、補正後の多面化大判紙の各面(各小切れ面)の画像を迅速に認識して各多面化大判紙の印刷状態の良否を迅速に判定し、且つ印刷状態を管理することである。また、印刷直後の十分に乾燥していない多面化大判紙の画像及び位置決めマークを、汚染することなく、非接触で読み取ることである。更に、この多面化大判紙の印刷状態検査結果から早期に印刷不良を検出し、それ以後の印刷ラインに印刷不良が発生するのを未然に防止することである。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明は、複数に分割された特定画像領域a、b、c、dに夫々同一の画像が印刷された多面化大判紙2の印刷直後の印刷状態を検査及び管理する多面化大判紙の印刷状態検査装置1に関するものであり、図3に示すように、多面化大判紙の特定画像領域外に1つ以上の用紙位置決めマーク2Aが予め印刷される。

印刷状態検査装置1は、図1に示すように、用紙載置板3と画像読取り部(スキャナー)4と画像処理部5と標準データ保持部6と印刷状態判定処理部7と判定データ処理部8とから構成される。なお、前記標準データ保持部6には、検査対象の多面化大判紙2の画像の基準となる標準データである、用紙位置決めマークの位置座標データである標準位置決めマークデータ6aと標準特定画像データ6bとが、予め保持される。

用紙載置板3は、図1及び図4に示すように、これを回転させる回転軸3Aと、後述の画像処理部5の位置補正処理部5Cからの位置補正データに基づいてこの回転軸をXY方向に移動又は回転移動させて用紙載置板3上に吸着されている検査対象の多面化大判紙2の位置補正制御及び前記多面化大判紙2を用紙載置板3に吸着する吸着動作の制御を行う用紙載置板駆動制御部3Bとを具備する。
例えば、位置補正量が水平左方向にXmm(ミリメートル)の場合は、水平右方向にXmm(ミリメートル)移動して、位置補正する。
また、位置補正量が垂直上方向にYmm(ミリメートル)の場合は、垂直下方向にYmm(ミリメートル)移動して、位置補正する。
また、位置ずれが、一定位置を中心にして、傾斜している場合は、その点を中心に傾斜量分だけ標準位置まで回転させて、位置補正する。

画像読取り部(スキャナー)4は、検査対象の多面化大判紙の第1回目の読み取り動作の場合は、図6に示すように、用紙載置部3に載置されたサンプリングされた検査対象の多面化大判紙2の全面をスキャンニング(点線矢印により図示。)することにより、多面化大判紙2の用紙位置決めマーク2A及び特定画像領域a、b、c、d(特定画像を含む)を読み取る。また、検査対象の多面化大判紙の位置補正後の読み取り動作の場合は、図7に示すように、特定画像領域a、b、c、d(特定画像を含む)を読み取る。この場合、予め、前記多面化大判紙の第1回目の読み取り動作において、読み取った画像を位置補正し、位置補正した特定画像領域中から各特定画像領域a、b、c、dの先頭位置情報Pa(Xa 、Ya )、Pb(Xb 、Yb )、Pc(Xc 、Yc )、Pd(Xd 、Yd )を算出し、この先頭位置情報Pa、Pb、Pc、Pdを用いて各特定画像領域a、b、c、dを読み取る。

印刷状態判定処理部7は多面化大判紙2から読み取り、且つ位置補正された各特定画像領域a、b、c、d内の特定画像データ5bと、前記標準データ保持部6の特定画像データ保持部6Bに保持された標準特定画像データ6bとを比較して多面化大判紙2の印刷状態の良否を段階別に判定する。例えば、特定画像を構成している分割画像領域毎に、印刷状態良、印刷状態不良、印刷状態一部不良、印刷状態注意の4段階判定、又は印刷状態良、印刷状態不良、印刷状態注意の3段階判定のように段階別の判定がされると共に、その異常内容ついては、濃度(カラーの場合は、R、G、Bの各成分毎に)、画線幅及び外径に関して判定され、且つ表示又は印字される。
