本発明は、センタパイプと、テールパイプとの同一の菱形状のフランジ部を回転位置を揃えて対接させた状態で保持するための自動車の排気管連結用治具に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
図4に示すように、触媒コンバータに後続するセンタパイプ1と、消音器3aが後続するテールパイプ3をボールジョイント5及びガスケットを介して連結する場合、双方の同一の菱形状のフランジ部2、4を次のようにねじ止めしている。即ち、それぞれボルト挿通孔2a、4aを合わせて、ばね7が装着されたボルト6を挿通し、そのストッパ6aをフランジ部4に当接させて反対側からナット止めしている。これにより、センタパイプ1及びテールパイプ3は、僅かに折り曲げれてもガスケットで気密状態を確保して連結される。つまり、走行時に連結部前後の排気管の上下の振動を吸収するように折れ曲がる。

このような連結はフランジ部2、4の回転位置が揃わないことによりボルト6がボルト挿通孔2aの中心位置からずれていると、走行時にボルト挿通孔2aの縁に干渉して異音が発生する問題がある。そこで、複数個の受駒を配列して双方のパイプを載置した状態で回転位置を調整することも行われているが、排気管の形状が異なるごとに受駒を交換する必要がある。このために、さらに図5に示すように、フランジ部2、4の菱形に対応した上下一対の山形の挟持フレーム9、9aの一方の端部を開閉可能に枢着してばねで閉鎖方向へ付勢する治具が用いられている。

これにより、受駒を用いることなく、双方のフランジ部をその回転位置を合わせて対接させた状態でねじ止めできる。しかしながら、複数種類の配管に対してフランジ部の形状を共通にしておくのが前提となり、フランジ部の形状が異なると同様に交換する必要があり、また上下開閉式のために、治具を装着した状態で車両へ搭載した後に、上方へ隙間がないと、取付作業の終了後に外せなくなる場合もあった。

本発明は、このような点に鑑みて、形状の異なる菱形状のフランジ部に対して共通に使用できるスライド式の自動車の排気管連結用治具を提供することを目的とする。

図1乃至図3を基に本発明の実施の形態の一例による自動車の排気管連結用治具を説明する。この排気管連結用治具は、基部10にスライドアーム11をスライド可能にガイドさせると共に、このスライドアームの先端部に、前述のフランジ部2、4の一方側のエッジ部2b、4bに当接するようにスライド方向に対して直交する押圧面12aを有するアーム状のフランジ押圧部12が設けられ、押圧面12aに対してそれぞれ等距離位置で対面し、かつ対向する他方側のエッジ部2c、4cを挿入させる空間部15bを置いて互いに平行に離間する上下一対の丸棒状のフランジ挟持部15、15aを基部10に設けて構成されている。
