以下、添付の図面を参照して、本発明の実施例を説明する。図1には、本発明の実施例に係る照明制御システムが示されている。この照明制御システムでは、主操作盤1と制御端末器2−1,2−2、監視端末器3とが伝送路4により接続されている。制御端末器2−1,2−2には、例えば、蛍光灯等の照明負荷5−1,5−2が接続され、監視端末器3にはスイッチ6−1〜6−2(点灯/消灯指示用マニュアルスイッチ)が接続されている。また、制御端末器2−1,2−2、監視端末器3、照明負荷5−1、5−2、スイッチ6−1〜6−2のそれぞれにアドレスが付与されており、監視端末器3はスイッチ6−1〜6−2が操作されると、当該スイッチのアドレス及び自端末のアドレスを伝送路4を介して主操作盤1に送信する。主操作盤1は、例えば、マイクロコンピュータ等により構成され、監視端末器及びそのスイッチのアドレスに対応させて制御端末器とその照明負荷のアドレスと照明状態(全調光、段階調光の所定調光度等)とが記憶されたメモリテーブルを備えており、監視端末器3から送られてくるアドレスに基づきメモリテーブルを検索し、照明状態と制御すべき制御端末器及び照明負荷のアドレスとからなる制御データを伝送路4へ送信する。対応する制御端末器は自端末と同一のアドレスである場合に制御データを取込み対応のアドレスを持つ照明負荷に対し対応の照明状態を現出させる。
