本発明は、混合水栓の本体に火傷防止のために取付ける断熱カバーに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
浴室等に取付けられる混合水栓は、湯と水を混合して吐水管またはシャワーヘッドから混合水を供給するが、高温の熱湯を連続的に供給し続けると金属製の本体が高温となり、使用者が直接本体表面に触れると火傷をする恐れがある。そこで実用新案登録第2561497号公報で示された給水栓用断熱カバーでは、水栓本体を断熱カバーで囲って使用者が直接高温となる水栓本体に触れないようにしているが、この断熱カバーは針金状の弾性抱持片及び板バネ状の弾性抱持片により本体に取付けているためがたつきやすく、しかも弾性抱持片は断熱カバーの内側に設けられているので本体に取付ける際には弾性抱性片を目視することができず、手探りで断熱カバーを取付けなければならず、作業性の悪いものであった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明が解決しようとする課題は、水栓の本体を覆う断熱カバーを容易に取付けられるようにし、しかも断熱カバーが本体に対しがたつくことがないようにすることである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明では、混合水栓の本体を覆う裏カバーと表カバーとからなり、両カバーのうちいづれか一方に垂直部を形成し、この垂直部の左右両側端部から前方に向け、上下に平行して2本のリブ及び両リブの間に板状の閉塞部材を形成し、他方の側端部に溝を凹設し、リブの中途部に形成した突起が溝に係合することで、両カバーを着脱自在に係合したものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図に基づいて詳細に説明する。本発明の実施例は図1に示すように、断熱カバーAは合成樹脂材により薄肉に成形し、混合水栓の本体17を裏側から覆う裏カバー1と表側から覆う表カバー11を係合して一体に結合するものである。

前記裏カバー1は本体17の裏側及び左右両側面を覆う形状で、横長に形成して壁面に沿う垂直部2の図面中右端に水用脚管から本体17内部に水を導入する水導入部を挿通するための第1開口孔3が円形に穿設され、左端には湯用脚管から本体17内部に湯を導入する湯導入部を挿通するための第2開口孔4が円形に穿設され、中央のやや下方には本体17の混合室17aとシャワーヘッドを連通するエルボ25を挿通する第3開口孔5を円形に穿設している。

前記表カバー11は本体17の表側及び上下両面を覆う箱形の形状で、上部を横長で縦断面横U字形に形成して背面側及び左右両側面を開放し、本体17の切換部18を覆うため中央から下方に突出した突出部12には吐水管19とシャワーヘッドの流路を切り換えるための切換ハンドル20の取付部21を挿通する第4開口孔13を円形に穿設している。

また、前記裏カバー1は垂直部2の左右両側端部から前方に向け、上下に平行して2本のリブ6及び両リブ6の間に板状の閉塞部材8を形成し、該リブ6は弾性変形可能で中途部にそれぞれ突起7を外側へ向けて突出させており、一方表カバー11は左右両側にU字状に形成した側端部14の上下中途部に前記突起7と係合する溝15がそれぞれ凹設されており、本体17の前後両側から裏カバー1と表カバー11を重ね合わせ、左右両リブ6の突起7を溝15に係合することで、図2及び図3に示すように断熱カバーAを一体に結合することができる。

さらに裏カバー1は前記第2開口孔4と隣合わせて外側からボルト24を螺着するねじ孔10を穿設した第1台座9を本体17に向けて突出して形成し、本体17には前後両側からには断熱カバーAを重ね合わせると第1台座9と向かい合う脚部22を上向きに垂設し、表カバー11の内部には脚部22と向かい合う第2台座16を本体17に向けて突出して形成し、ボルト24を裏カバー1の第1台座9から脚部22のねじ孔23及び表カバー11の内部に形成した第2台座16のねじ孔へ螺着することで、断熱カバーAは本体17に対し強固に結合することができる。

このように構成した断熱カバーAを混合水栓の本体17に結合するには、本体17を挟んで前後両側から表カバー11と裏カバー1を重ね合わせ、この時裏カバー1の左右両端のリブ6を表カバー11の側端部14内側へ撓ませてスライドさせると、リブ6の突起7は表カバー11の溝15に弾力的に係合する。

次に図4に示すようにボルト24を裏カバー1の外側から第1台座9に穿設したねじ孔10から螺着すれば、ボルト24の先端は本体17の脚部22及び表カバー11の第2台座16の順に螺着されて裏カバー1と表カバー11を本体17に強固に結合することができる。

ここで混合水栓の本体17の故障に対する修理やメンテナンスのため断熱カバーAを本体17から外すには、ボルト24を緩めて断熱カバーAから取り除いた後に裏カバー11の閉塞部材8を外方から内側へ押圧し、裏カバー1の突起7を表カバー11の溝15から脱出させて表カバー11を前方に引き抜くことで簡単に外すことができる。

なお、上記実施例では裏カバーにリブ及び突起を設け、表カバーに溝を凹設しているが、逆に裏カバーに溝を凹設し、表カバーにリブ及び突起を設けてもよく、突起や溝は図示のものに限定されるものではない。

【発明の効果】
本発明の断熱カバーは、混合水栓の本体を覆う裏カバーと表カバーとからなり、両カバーのうちいづれか一方に垂直部を形成し、この垂直部の左右両側端部から前方に向け、上下に平行して2本のリブ及び両リブの間に板状の閉塞部材を形成し、他方の側端部に溝を凹設し、リブの中途部に形成した突起が溝に係合することで、両カバーを着脱自在に係合したので、本体を覆う断熱カバーの取付け取外しを目視しながら容易に行うことができる。
