本発明は、スクリーン印刷装置に関し、特にスキージから落下したインキ等の印刷ペーストが装置の動作に支障を与えないようにする印刷ペースト受け止め手段を設けたスクリーン印刷装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
スクリーン印刷装置は、スクリーン印刷用インキを用いた一般的なスクリーン印刷だけでなく、電子回路基板(以下、基板と略記する)の生産工程において、基板にクリーム半田や絶縁体ペースト等の印刷ペーストを塗布する目的にも使用されている。ここでは、前記クリーム半田を基板に塗布するスクリーン印刷装置を対象として説明する。図2は、基板にクリーム半田を回路パターンの所定位置に塗布するスクリーン印刷装置の要部構成を示す正面図である。

図2において、スクリーン印刷装置20は、スキージ9を所定の印刷範囲に移動させる印刷ヘッド駆動部4と、回路パターンに対応する印刷開口部が形成されたスクリーン2と、供給位置でテーブル上に載置された基板5を前記スクリーン2の下に移動させて位置決めするステージ部3とを備えて構成されている。

前記ステージ部3はボールネジ機構6により図示矢印方向に移動して、供給位置で図示しないローダから基板5が供給されると、同図に示すようにスクリーン2の下に移動する。このステージ部3には水平方向、垂直方向、水平面回転方向に駆動して基板5をスクリーン2に位置決めする位置決め機構7が設けられている。基板5がスクリーン2下の所定位置に位置決めされると、前記印刷ヘッド駆動部4により図示矢印方向に移動するスキージ9は、スクリーン2上に供給されたクリーム半田8をスクリーン2の印刷開口部を通して基板5に印刷する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記構成において、印刷対象である基板5が変わり、これに対応するスクリーン2に取り替える段取り替え時には、図3に示すように、ステージ部3は供給位置に退避し、スクリーン2は図示しない段取り替え位置に移動する。このとき、スキージ9に付着したクリーム半田8が落下すると、ボールネジ機構6等の駆動機構部分に付着することになり、装置の動作不良をきたす原因となる。クリーム半田8は粘度が高いため、図4(a)、(b)、(c)に示すように印刷ヘッド駆動部4によりスキージ9が上昇してスクリーン2から離れるときスキージ9に付着しやすく、この付着量が大きくなると落下して駆動機構部分に付着して動作不良を生じさせたり装置を汚染する問題点があった。

本発明は、上記問題点を解決すべく創案されたもので、スキージから垂れ落ちた印刷ペーストの装置構造物への付着を防止する印刷ペースト受け止め手段を設けたスクリーン印刷装置を提供することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、印刷ヘッド駆動部により移動するスキージと、印刷時にはスキージの下方の印刷位置に配設され、段取り替え時には段取り替え位置に移動するスクリーンと、供給位置でテーブル上に載置された被印刷物を印刷位置に配設された前記スクリーンの下部に移動させるステージ部と、前記ステージ部を駆動する駆動手段とを備えたスクリーン印刷装置において、前記スクリーンの段取り替え時に、前記スキージに付着した印刷ペーストが落下したときに受け止める印刷ペースト受け止め手段を、一端をステージ部の所要位置に固定し、前記駆動手段により前記ステージ部が前記印刷位置から前記供給位置へ移動するに伴いスキージの下方に移動するように構成したことを特徴とする。

スクリーンの段取り替え時に、スキージに付着した印刷ペーストが落下すると、スキージの下方にはスクリーンはなく、落下した印刷ペーストは装置の駆動機構部分に付着して動作不良をきたす恐れがあるが、上記構成によれば、印刷ペースト受け止め手段により受け止められるので、装置の動作不良や汚染がなくなる。前記印刷ペースト受け止め手段は、スクリーンの段取り替え時には供給位置に移動するステージ部の移動に連動してスキージの下方に移動するように構成されている。この構成は、一端がステージ部に固定されたベルトとして実現でき、スクリーンの段取り替え時にはステージ部は供給位置に退避するので、この移動により巻き戻し機構から引き出されてスキージの下方を覆い、落下する印刷ペーストをベルトで受け止めることができる。このベルトに受け止めた印刷ペーストは掻き取り手段により取り除かれ、掻き取られた印刷ペーストは印刷ペースト収容手段に収容することができる。

以下、添付図面を参照して本発明の一実施形態について説明し、本発明の理解に供する。尚、以下に示す実施形態は本発明を具体化した一例であって、本発明の技術的範囲を限定するものではない。

図1(a)において、本実施形態に係るスクリーン印刷装置1には、ステージ部3に一端が固定され、他端側は巻き戻し機構11にロール状に巻き取られたベルト(印刷ペースト受け止め手段)10が設けられている。このベルト10は、一端がステージ部3に固定されているため、ステージ部3がボールネジ機構6により移動するのに伴って、巻き戻し機構11から引き出されたり、巻き戻されたりする。ベルト10はスキージ9の長さ(図示奥行き方向)を越える幅で、且つステージ部3が図1(a)に示す供給位置にあるときは、引き出されて印刷ヘッド駆動部4によるスキージ9の移動範囲を越える長さで、ボールネジ機構6等の構造物上を覆う。従って、同図に示すように、スクリーン2(図2参照)が段取り替えでスキージ9の下方から移動しているときに、スキージ9に付着したクリーム半田(印刷ペースト)8が垂れ落ちても、図示するようにベルト10に受け止められ、構造物を汚染し、駆動機構部分等に動作不良を起こさせることがない。

【発明の効果】
以上の説明の通り本発明によれば、スクリーンの段取り替え時に、スキージに付着した印刷ペーストが落下すると、スキージの下方にはスクリーンはなく、落下した印刷ペーストは装置の駆動機構部分に付着して動作不良をきたす恐れがあるが、印刷ペースト受け止め手段により受け止められるので、装置の動作不良や汚染がなくなる。前記印刷ペースト受け止め手段は、スクリーンの段取り替え時には供給位置に移動するステージ部の移動に連動してスキージの下方に移動するように構成されている。この構成は、一端がステージ部に固定されたベルトとして実現でき、スクリーンの段取り替え時にはステージ部は供給位置に退避するので、この移動により巻き戻し機構から引き出されてスキージの下方を覆い、落下する印刷ペーストをベルトで受け止めることができる。このベルトに受け止めた印刷ペーストは掻き取り手段により取り除かれ、掻き取られた印刷ペーストは印刷ペースト収容手段に収容することができる。
